    You know you are probably one of my favorite anglers to listen to on a regular basis. You really are thoughtful in your approach. You know your fishing but you’re a humble person. I think you’re genuine and you’re all about getting good information to other people and building on the theory of bass fishing. It’s refreshing and something I strive to do myself. You are an Angler’s Angler, and I know a lot of us appreciate your straightforward approach.

    Man you’re brilliant when it comes to fishing. I personally think you should be fishing the elite series. I am an older fisherman I’m 51. Im just now starting to getting into tournaments now, hoping some how I’ll make it to where I am even close to your level. I’ve taught myself how to do just about anything anyone would want to do. I taught myself how to work on Stihl equipment and now I’m the General manager over 6 dealerships. I taught myself how to do flooring and I did my entire house. I find someone on TH-cam that I feel really knows what they’re talking about and that’s how I learn. From watching their videos and instilling that knowledge into my own head. You are the only person I will watch as far as learning how to tournament fish.. you’re an amazing teacher and I hope I can sponge up as much information as I can from you. Im from Florida and I have fished my entire life, now I’m learning to fish!!

    ‘Just trying to get a bite.’
    Love it. Been saying that for years.
    When guys start talking about their jack plates, their power poles, spot locks and drop shot knots...I’m always like ‘alright cool, but what time we meeting at the ramp?’

    Great stuff. Thanks. Once again time on the water is what it takes. No one typically goes out in one day and figures out the best way/s to catch them.

    You have to be one of the most down to earth guys that I watch. The way you think and how your outlook on fishing and life in general is impressively positive. Thank you so much for the info and time. God Bless and Fish On🎣🎣🐟🐟

      Todd Castledine Fishing, It did, I think that I myself put too much emphasis on getting the first five in the boat, I really like what you had to say about that aspect, there was a lot more thoughtful insight that can be put to good use also, best of luck, can’t wait for all of this to be put behind us so we can apply what we have learned from guys like yourself.

    Todd I really enjoyed this video and I've fished tournaments for a long time, great stuff!! I fish mostly local tournaments in KY but I loved hearing about different types of lake you guys fish and HOW you approach and think about things, how you practice and plan to handle things, and the advice about doing your own deal or doing a completely diff deal than everyone else in your own way...gold!! I'm really looking forward to more of these!!!!!!!!! Plz!!

    These tournaments in my area are very much like what you just described your beginnings as if you could catch 5 to 10 keepers in a day you've got a chance at winning the tournament these lakes just don't have a lot of 15 plus in fish in them.

    Todd, thanks for the awesome video!! Those are some great tips and view points that I haven’t thought of. I do have one question. I only have one graph at the console. It does have side imaging and down imaging and reads great but it is a older unit. I don’t have one at the bow. For someone starting out on the lower level fishing, i.e. BFL’s, what would be your advice for someone in my position that doesn’t have a bow graph? I would like to get a bow graph but my console model is so old that anything I buy won’t link with it. Can’t afford 2 new units. Any suggestions?

      @cooksoutdooradventures3908 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’ve been in this situation and what I did was I got another transducer compatible with my graph and mounted it on the trolling motor and ran the cord up to the graph. When I went up front I would unplug the transom transducer and plug in the other one. Depending on the model you will have to go in the settings and select the right transducer every time. It’s a pain in the ass but it works. Mount your graph on a RAM mount so you can spin it around and see it from the front.

      Also keep in mind your waypoints won’t be exact when doing this but it will get you close

    • @toddcastledinefishing5924
      @toddcastledinefishing5924  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      First don’t worry about not having a graph, you will get good at adapting and fishing shallow watching the water in front of you and looking at your surroundings. Linking is way overrated, I just started linking 2 years ago. Back graph is for marking things and front graph is for points when you actually catch a fish, “boat positioning”. 10 year old boats, not many rods, no graphs can all be overcome by fishing strengths, can it be a deterrent? Yes, so can idiling around for 10 hours not finding anything. I was in your shoes for many many years I promise you can make it.

    I would love to see one tournament a year where no electronics are allowed. Just fish what you know, not what you can see underwater
