Dude I'm only 3 and a half minutes through and this is superb! THANK YOU so much! My bike has been on the stand for almost a year, need to complete a small repair job at the front end but also need to take my rear tyre for puncture repair and I kept putting off learning how to do this. I thought it was a much much bigger job for some reason. I thought I had to split the chain off at the master link, and I remembered watching videos in the past of people hammering at the axle struggling to get it through....I might have gotten confused with some bearing replacement videos lol.
Seeing how simple this was has given me a big confidence boost - I bought the 36mm socket ages ago so I should be set. Great tips about the adjustment block and raising the wheel. Definitely attempting this this week. Thanks again.

bro your sv1000 back tire video was very helpful and professional. do you have any videos on like the small oil leak that seems to be behind my front sprocket. i got the front sprocket cover off and the front sprocket out. after cleaning a lot of the oil and gunk build up the leak appears to be coming from behind the" crankshaft cover." my terminology may be incorrect but its the plate or cover thats directly behind the front sprocket. it has like 3 bolts holding it in place, i hope the internet dosent shame me for not being a mechanic. thanks bro keep the sv1000 videos coming!

Yep. Countershaft seal. I did it on the 650 but it's the same idea on all bikes.

How do you make sure the chain is aligned?

in this case i wasnt changing the adjustment at all. but a few different ways:
      1) measure the distance from the center of the swingarm pivot to the center of the axle (precise but fiddly)
      2) use the notches (less precise but quick)
      3) use a chain alingment tool like this motionpro (not an endorsement just an example) www.amazon.com/Motion-Pro-08-0048-Chain-Alignment/dp/B000GTVOJQ/
