      there are daily cycling crashes on the dragon, and several turns through the course will have photographers set up with tents to snap photographs to motorists who are passing thru and sell them on their website. it's a busy place. accidents happen but i wouldn't blame it on the guys filming.

    It takes a long time to cover the 11 miles especially at the posted 30mph. If the state people were smart, they'd do what the Germans did with the Nurburgring.
    Make the road a single direction toll road with a 30mph speed advisory but no tickets being issued if you exceed the speed advisory.
    Charge $25 per entry or a $1,600 unlimited entry yearly pass
    The income would go to maintenance and Emergency and Fire services.

      The thing about the Dragon and the other roads in the areas is that the police will nab people for going egregiously over the limit, but there's a catch to the whole thing. When I was there, one of my friends who was leading the group got clocked at 85 in a 30. But on the Dragon, the cops will pretty much always knock it down to a 5 or 10 over unless you're being an asshole. They do this because they know you're spending money on local businesses and are essentially tourism money for the area, which trickles back into their department. So they don't want you to go away, they just want their extra cut (i.e, the speeding ticket). They're super nice about it too. They'll shoot the shit with you about your car and just tell you to be safe and use common sense.

      @Lolatyou332 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      preludeF20Bking yes on corners. When you are entering a corner braking is important, when you are exiting a corner acceleration is important. When you are taking the corner grip is important. Most sports cars with any power have electronic stability control which will make it easier to take sharp corners while still having the power behind them to reach peak speeds to take a turn.

    • @Lolatyou332
      @Lolatyou332 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      preludeF20Bking civic doesn’t even handle good around turns either because it is front wheel drive. RWD/AWD(with differential, most power in the rear) are better around turns in general because they can apply power without sacrificing their peak grip on the front tires.

    Change the PCV valve on the Civic and pray its not the rings, thats worth changing since its a 10$ part and could lead to excessive oil consumption if u dont have a leak in any other part of the engine like valve cover or oil pan seal. Oil consumption is not normal unless the rings are bad or the pcv valve gets clogged, i changed the pcv valve on a civic and on a corolla i had (both of them were consuming lots of oil) and it worked on both, the oil level was spot on ever since. Good luck man!

I have yet to find another form of media that demonstrates those special and personal car moments that are near impossible to convey otherwise. Must be such a rewarding feeling to have your passion hit home with likewise people around the world.

    Hondas doesn't aways burn oil, it can also mean that you're leaking oil through your head gasket or oil pan gasket or if you can't find it it's probably vtec solenoid and if you're still having problem after that you need a catch can.

    So apparently the speed limit used to be 55 on that road, then down to 40, then down to 30. Also, SEMI TRUCKS used to drive on it because it was a popular bypass. They finally banned semi trucks and trailers over 30-35(?) feet sometime during the 2000s because motorcyclists were getting clipped by trailers crossing the double yellow.
    It's a very fun road, and my favorite part is the two dips where the "DIP" sign is. I think MATG 2017 had over 500 Miatas. Was a great time.

    Miata hardtop latch: if you open the latch all the way, there's an adjustment screw in there to tighten it up. Also make sure your rear connections are the frankenstein bolts are solid. Remove the screw from the chrome cover and swivel the top half of the cover, then you can use a wrench to tighten the nylon clamp that rests against the frankenstein bolt.
    Miata feeling loose - yes, being a convertible it can feel floppy at times, but a set of Flying Miata frame rails and butterfly brace really tighten things up tremendously. No idea why it didn't come factory like that.

    Never heard of this channel until a few days ago. Absolutely loved this series and can't wait to see the next one. As someone who has made this trip in not only my fully built Civic Type R Clone, but in my WRX as well, I have mad respect for you guys! I must have gotten lucky both times because I did nothing but put gas in each car and change the oil at the destination and before leaving. But being those places in your OWN vehicle really does make all the difference. You form a new bond with your car(s) and become proud of their accomplishments just as if they were your children. Would love to meet up with ya the next time you stop at Alki Beach in Seattle for that sweet view. The city changes at night, becomes a ghost town and all the busy roads during the day open up and make for some really fun runs around the city, especially through the new i90 tunnel. Off to watch the next series!

    Tail of the Dragon is such an amazing road. The cops mostly leave you alone so long as you're not excessively exceeding the speed limit, and keep it between the mustard and mayo. Hope the guy on the motorcycle was okay. Last time I ran it, a Miata went flying off the side and the driver was alive but pretty banged up.
