Hi Tom, Thanks for a great review ... I couldn't find the link for the Mavic 2 Pro 4 hub battery charger in the description section. Can you point me in the right direction?
Yea, and frankly, if DJI didn't own Hasselblad, there is no way the older Company would have put it's name on this camera system that has so many problems. The concept is good, but deployment of the idea has some major flaws. In some supposedly full sensor 4K modes, the full sensor is not being used, or there is some other problem, because the resolution simply isn't there. I thought I would get the PRO, but because of the flaws of the PRO I will get the zoom, which is not even much of a compromise with the exception of losing the wonderful 10 bit. The zoom has more consistently sharp 4K footage thruout the range of modes, AND it has the Zoom. Unfortunately it has a fixed aperature which means you will have to have a set of ND filters, which is a pita and cannot be changed in the air. Databyter
Why put the Hassleblad name on it and jack up the price accordingly? Everyone know that the camera was made in the same Chinese factory as the drone. Hassleblad is not the dominate name in photography it once was.
thegalaxy Fanboy logic..., Hasselblad was used ONLY for the moon landings, that’s all. They wanted a medium format FILM, maybe 8 choices back then, much less today. nasa uses many other brands too. In digital was the original Dalsa that’s still a benchmark for 4K today.
Does the 0ne inch sensor mavic 2 have a better auto focus and auto exposure than the mavic 1 ? more like the phantums ? IE- no more touch screen to focus?
Excellent review... I have one very important question !!! With the old mavic in sport mode, when I was going full speed the camera tilt down because of the angle of the drone and the limitation to look enough high of the camera... does it happen with the mavic 2 and mavic zoom ? I hope you understand my question....
I am curious about flight stability in high winds. I own the Phantom 4 pro and have flown it in 30+ mph wind. Not wise but I needed the shot and I got my drone back. I shot a wedding with a friend's Mavic Pro and the winds were 15+ mph and I didn't have the control that I had with my P4P. I don't know if it is a matter of mass or will the more powerful Mavic Pro 2 be the P4P's equal.
Great review thanks Tom. Based on your water/ balloon tests, would you say the new drones might be flown in rain??? Hi Tom ! great video, really good info ! Glad you went over the sensors. I have a question - how big of an iPhone can you hook up to the remote ? With Apple's new iPhones coming in just 2 months, the largest one will be 6.5 inches, and I wonder if it will be able to fit into the arms of ( holding area ) of the remote.... what are your thoughts on this ? Thanks Tom !
Is there some reason they can't put a full-sized SD slot on them? I mean, if they can have built-in storage, then I can't imagine it's that much of a weight issue.
Tom. Do you know if Mavic 2 has the dual remote (Master/Slave) capability? Also, it looks like the Mavic Pro batteries are not compatible with Mavic 2.
Does the pro have a digital zoom or the ability to shoot 1080p on a cropped 1920x1080 section of the sensor to allow you to shoot HD with the equivalent of a longer lens to get the stronger parallax effect?
So I always wondered - if it lost signal and started on it's return to home - and a high voltage elevated power line was in its path - do you think the anti-collision sensors would detect the small horizontal power lines?
I'm a first time buyer of a quad. I have been looking for about a month and was set on mavic air for my first. Hey man, for yet another great video! I have ordered and refunded back and forth 4 times between the Pro and Zoom. Could you shed some light as to how much better is the Pro’s camera/sensor/colors and how much better is its low light performance? I’m a hobbyist who’s never going to make a dollar out of them and mostly shoot travel videos, vlogs, misc. short clips, but also shoot pictures. I like the creativity that the Zoom might offer me (not crazy about over doing the Dolly Zoom thing a million times per video) and all the 48mm FOV looks so cinematic, but then I think that most of the zoom benefits can be achieved through post-processing. Is the 48mm lens compression noticeable enough? Please help me!
Tom, thank you very much for your product review. My question is what type of smart phone is most compatible with the Mavic 2 Pro? My preference is for Samsung but will switch to an iPhone if need be.

Great review Tom. What application / program do you use to edit 4K video shot on the drones (or any 4K video for that matter)? I currently have a DJI P3 Pro and for the video stay in 4K, I upload directly to TH-cam. If I bring a DJI P3 Pro 4K video into Camtasia or iMovie to edit (add audio or trim), the final video output gets down-res'd to 1080. I'm just wondering what folks use. I'm a hobbyist so don't need Hollywood type of functionality. Thanks for your reviews.
Hi! Thank you so much for this video. Great info. I wonder if you had and idea or opinion on which version camera wise would work best for Photogrammetry scans? Can I ask about nd filter? Up to how many fstop range is required for the zoom? I only have up to ND16 and not sure if i would need higher stop.
Do you know of any cases for the mavic 2 that just house the aircraft itself?
well! where can i find what camera u use for this video?...."my equipment" maybe u should update that
Hello Tom, would like to know if the gimbal for the maVic 2 pro Hasselblad gimbal can take photos 90 deg angle down
>?
Hi, what backpack do you have the drone in there? Ty
Great review from a European without the loooong bla bla that most north American youtubers tend to spice up their videos with. Straight through the review and through the individual points without hassling. Thanks Tom.
Excellent review, already ordered the 2 Pro. You listed a disadvantage being the cameras can't look up, I thought the bigger camera could?
Awesome video Tom. Are these two compatible with the Dji google. I assume it would.
Question can you charge the remote with a usb c cable now?
Great review Tom. What application / program do you use to edit 4K video shot on the drones (or any 4K video for that matter)? I currently have a DJI P3 Pro and for the video stay in 4K, I upload directly to TH-cam. If I bring a DJI P3 Pro 4K video into Camtasia or iMovie to edit (add audio or trim), the final video output gets down-res'd to 1080. I'm just wondering what folks use. I'm a hobbyist so don't need Hollywood type of functionality. Thanks for your reviews.
Hi dose Mavic 2 pro has manual mode like phantom 4 so that you can fly with out GPS ?
Are you saying the zoom version is best for the novice as not using the mavic pro 2 for business but just fun because of the zoom function?
Hi! Thank you so much for this video. Great info. I wonder if you had and idea or opinion on which version camera wise would work best for Photogrammetry scans? Also I read on the DJI site that they would change out the cam for one or the other if you send it to them and pay a fee, would that be the best option if you change your mind later? Thanks so much for you hard work Tom.
tops of trees looked a little pixelated.. is this the software, as like with my problems with the Mavic 1 software?
