The Bizness I remember I really didn't rate him at all, thought he was rubbish. To prove the point, I watched a game (england I think) and just made a mental note of everything he did, solely focused on him during the game. At the end, I was like "we should totally sign him, he's top!"
The Bizness for me he was the natural succesor of Scholes, he may not have been on his level at that time but he would have filled scholes's role so well
Owen Hargreaves at Bayern is a legendary icon, it use to scare me when I saw him in that red Jersey. He was a pure powerhouse... Such a scary good memory
When people mention the Golden Era for England, they always talk about Gerrard, Lampard and Scholes. It baffles me how many of them forget both Hargreaves and Carrick. Complete ballers.
Phenomenal penalty taker, for Utd and England. While everyone else bottled it and missed he had that german composure from the spot. He was the one true midfielder that was actually committed to playing the anchor role for englamd whilst actually having the legs to keep up with the world's best attacking midfielders. Yes he was frustratingly injury prone but for the time he played he deserves so much more respect than he gets.
Never forget how much I used to underrate Hargreaves until I saw him play for England in the 2006 World Cup and my mind changed. He was superb when he was fit but so incredibly injury prone.
Yes, obviously, common sense mate. During my match in 2016 I'd hairline fractured my first two knuckles on my left hand, my corner wanted to pull me out but I carried on. Ended up fracturing the index knuckle and shattering the middle kunckle, wasn't fun.
Hargreaves was awesome. Underrated and forgotten. For England he was the heartbeat and for Utd he was the answer to replacing Keane. Such a shame his career was curtailed.
He was a great player. Fergie was fuming he got injured and should have handled it better. Its almost like he was made to feel guilty because he got injured. He would have been a Utd legend and so he should remind everyone about the league and champs league double cos he played a major part.
Just wanna of those things, Hargreaves was brilliant for England, Bayern and utd for one season .. Utd side of 2007/2008 was there last great side... A match for any of the modern teams.
As a medical professional the term "injection into a tendon" he mentions sounds bad. Never a good idea to inject a tendon, have to be very careful injecting in the region of a tendon, let alone injecting directly into one.
I suspect he was receiving injects into his knee and other parts to deal with the pain he probably got from playing. That may have contributed to his problems. He may have played on through the pain but in doing so was creating a degenerative effect.
Maybe in a paralel universe, he stayed at Bayern and won the Champions League with Lahm and Schweinsteiger. United's medicals weren't aware how fragile his injury really was.
Owen was one in a few players at Utd that i feel that would have had a amazing career still done loads. Nar Owen Hargreaves was far unfinished right in a position we needed so bad. Players in that central role are few an fair between. ROBBED, simple as that. Utd knew about his injuries, but took the chance coz he was the best around when fit.. CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMI FINAL OT RIGHT BACK. AGAINST BARCA! ENOUGH SAID..
The dude is an unsung hero. Everybody forgets to mention his contribution to that winning team. He literally ended his career winning the double. Give the dude some respect.
I'm no Utd fan,but have watched them for many yrs..And as successful as SAF was,he def gave u the impression he had a complicated, cantankerous, decent(,all of the employees at Man u,speak so highly of him) personallty.. Now Owen hargreaves was somewhat a mystery to many England fans in 2006,until u started seeing his all energy performances in the world cup competition..He simply looked England's best player(apart from Wayne Rooney, who was never quite fit at most of the big Tournament's)so when Man U picked him up,he looked like quality (a really talented all round Midfield player)and then he got injured and for some reason Fergie thought it was all in his mind.. Somehow I don't think so!!
It’s just his Canadian accent lol. HES un lucky ESPN only have full English players or us.... BT done well given him a job. Ime happy for him, coz boy this man would be a silver statue if never had his injuries... Then would become a souness 😡. Owen hands down over that 🙈
Hargreaves was a good player and intelligent, but surely one of the most overrated players in the history of football; nobody should end up with as many as 42 caps in a period when he played only around 150 club games - that ratio is nonsense. I surmise that he was lately in favour because he was considered to be exotic and would embrace continental qualities. He claims to have been a 'guinea pig' for 'revolutionary treatment' at Man UTD, and it is possible that he was mistreated but it makes no sense for a club to have spent so much money on such an asset to have allowed or instructed that to happen.
This comment may be two years old but the stench of b.s. is still fresh Owen Hargreaves was an absolute beast, a legend at Bayern Munich and had his knee not gone he would be up there with Roy Keane and Ryan Giggs in Utd folklore, guaranteed. And yes, I'm saying that as a Liverpool fan.
Hargreaves was mega when fit, he always gave a solid performance. A rare combination of technical ability, physicality and workrate.
The Bizness I remember I really didn't rate him at all, thought he was rubbish. To prove the point, I watched a game (england I think) and just made a mental note of everything he did, solely focused on him during the game. At the end, I was like "we should totally sign him, he's top!"
The Bizness he was never fit though he was constantly injured
The Bizness for me he was the natural succesor of Scholes, he may not have been on his level at that time but he would have filled scholes's role so well
amitash srivastava but he didn't because his body was weak
He was a player who worked so hard it made up for other areas
Owen Hargreaves at Bayern is a legendary icon, it use to scare me when I saw him in that red Jersey. He was a pure powerhouse... Such a scary good memory
In a lot of ways one of the best at ball distribution and control i have seen

ragii Carrick? Nah mate
Darren Fletcher as well
Right?! Fletcher had some great games for England...
ragii hi
Could have been a true great Hargreves if his knees werent made from Quavers.
he already was a great.
Says the guy who probably smashes 10 bags for breakfast living in his mum’s flat
Totalavulsion cool story bro
His knees were okayish he just played unsustainably, watch any highlights and its just painful to see the stress he put his legs under
Who remembers that freekick against Arsenal
Me because United uploaded it on their new channel
That free kick was natural takent
Never forget how much I used to underrate Hargreaves until I saw him play for England in the 2006 World Cup and my mind changed. He was superb when he was fit but so incredibly injury prone.
CDMs don't come much better than Hargreaves. Injuries robbed the England Team of him and Ledley King.
And Jonathan Woodgate. And probably stopped Michael Owen from reaching his full potential too.
Preach!
Yeah we would have at least got to quarter finals and then knocked out on penalties if they were fit!
@@BigDave15 OMG totally forgot about Woodgate. He was awesome when fit which unfortunately was hardly ever.
His playing style meant injuries were a certainty, he was so good because he sacrificed his body
Fit Hargreaves was a world class player
Watched this this morning live
Doesn't playing through pain make the injury much worse
Last year I pulled a muscle and carried on playing and then it got torn
Yes, obviously, common sense mate. During my match in 2016 I'd hairline fractured my first two knuckles on my left hand, my corner wanted to pull me out but I carried on. Ended up fracturing the index knuckle and shattering the middle kunckle, wasn't fun.
I remember sitting in Dubai on holiday watching his free kick against arsenal. Unreal player on his day, what a man he is
Hargreaves was England's best player in 2006 world cup v Portugal.
Tom Colton In the 2006 world cup, full stop
Correct..
Definitely, and obviously.
Hargreaves was awesome. Underrated and forgotten. For England he was the heartbeat and for Utd he was the answer to replacing Keane. Such a shame his career was curtailed.
So many players ruined by injury
was amazing for us 08/09! legend
Great player
This is what the fans don't see or understand. Must be hard for a player to handle
He was a great player. Fergie was fuming he got injured and should have handled it better. Its almost like he was made to feel guilty because he got injured. He would have been a Utd legend and so he should remind everyone about the league and champs league double cos he played a major part.
I think Ferguson was of the belief that he was fit but his head was not in it.
bighands69 Yeah, he seems a bit introverted too and maybe Fergie was unsure of him.
Just wanna of those things, Hargreaves was brilliant for England, Bayern and utd for one season .. Utd side of 2007/2008 was there last great side... A match for any of the modern teams.

What about surgery for patella tendinitis? What is the success rate of recovery from surgery?
Maybe in a paralel universe, he stayed at Bayern and won the Champions League with Lahm and Schweinsteiger. United's medicals weren't aware how fragile his injury really was.
Probably what happened was that he was taking injections for pain and probably played straight through it.
Legend 🔴

Most fans do not understand this part of the game more former and current players should speak more about this
Marco Reus of yesteryear
Really unfortunate for Hargreaves!!
Esse cara jogava muito, mais as contusões fez ele se aposentar muito cedo
He was brilliant in 2006 wc
@ 2:08 now i understand why injection in Football manager says its a huge risk to take it.
how many times did he mention he won the league and champions league with united lmao
Does he wanna say that he won the league and champions league much more?
Joshua Hodgkiss why not though ;)
Hes proud and so he should be, not many players can say they've won such accolades.
he deserved to say that...great player for United...such a pity
The Bizness not gerrard
The dude is an unsung hero. Everybody forgets to mention his contribution to that winning team.
He literally ended his career winning the double. Give the dude some respect.
Why did he win??
Hargreaves at Bayern is probably the best English player ever in a foreign country.
Pranav Veluri and the best ever Canadian
Did he win the PL and CL with Man Utd? Not sure if he mentioned that.
TheConcernedSum7 yes he did
I think.....I maybe wrong but I think Hargreaves won the league and the champions league, it’s just a hunch I have
Hoddle shoulda recommended a good faith healer

Man U were unlucky losing Hargreaves and Fletcher
When he got to man u he was levels.
steppa money even at Bayern !
Was a good player was Owen.
Why is Hargreaves speaking with a slight foreign accent ha ha
Born and grew up Canada, then he played in Germany for several years.
His accent is the most confusing thing.
Has he ever went a show without mentioning he won the Champions League'?
Fifa 05 bayern!
I be in so much pain every time he commentates on a match. Must be the worst about & that takes some doing.
Colm Lavery 😂😂😂 no way
Geezer's never heard Cara or Owens on commentary clearly.
