+firdauskotp He's not a legend. That word is thrown around far too lightly. He was very good in the 07/08 campaign but that was it...not legend worthy in the slightest considering the players that have played for United. And this is coming from someone who loved Hargreaves when he was at United
Hargreaves was class. He had everything. Great engine, an absolute wand of a right foot, read the game to perfection. Such a shame about the injuries. We were after him for years from Bayern, fantastic player
Owen Hargreaves was one of my favorite players , always giving everything for the team, he suffered many injuries and that avoided him to continue in the team, he could be one of the greatest Manchester United players.
Francisco Juarez Roy Keane was mine, if he had an injury he'd just keep going except for when he fucked his ACL probably the reason he only lasted till 2006 as a pro
Paul FitzGerald Roy keane at least got years at the top. Hargreaves was just becoming a united favourite when injuries derailed him. I remember Carrick was almost joining Newcastle because he couldn't get in to the team because of how brilliant Hargreaves was. He was not only the best dmf in our squad, he was also out best right back too
Francisco Juarez a lot of people don’t know he played through injuries too haha! He was a top technically gifted midfielder. Wish we saw more of him in england
My god. Say what you want about Rio Ferdinand but my god the fucking passion inside of him when he dons the United jersey is unbelieveable. And to think tht he was among the top 5 best defenders in the world during his peak made non united fans jealous as sour grapes.
fian fine Yeah was thinking after corona we'll get to enjoy this again. is what i thought. But these atmospheres wont come back, even look at the way owen celebrated, he jumped at his mates. No one cares anymore, it's all about 1 goal = 50k£ bonus. No passion
Martin when I watch football I care more about what's happening in front of me than about what we've won in the past. Otherwise we sound like Liverpool fans clinging on to the old days
Classic stuff. Rio sure was pumped up by that goal. Also love Hargreaves standing over the ball like a dog with a bone; he wasn't going to let Ronaldo anywhere near it! Reminds me of the family golden retriever from my childhood.
I remember this like yesterday. Hargreaves had scored a great free kick earlier that season against Fulham in the league. He had seen Ronaldo waste some free kicks earlier in this game so when this one came up he picked the ball himself. He was a complete midfielder with a very good free kick technique. Too bad injuries ruined his career after this season. He won so many trophies though including two champions league trophies with Bayern Munich and United.😊
Lost my obsession for football after going through it post Fergie. Bruno and Pogba are making United look good again, but I doubt I can ever return to those days of pure football obsession, now I'm just an observer who is a United supporter.
Rio's celebrations were always amped up by about 80% whenever it was against a top 4 team lol and till today im convinced that ronaldo wanted to take the freekick but own just stepped up and took it lol
I was eagerly waiting for his comeback too. During that match, I was so excited when i saw the first 11 lineups. But then, after that 5 mins, everything changed.. Sigh, hope for speedy recover.
What a team United had those few years with Sir Alex still at the helm! I long for those days! Feel extremely sad for Owen Hargreaves.... Would have definitely been a cult hero of the stature of Robson or Cantona if it hadn't been for his fucking injuries!
Honestly, I think the team that won the CL in 08 was slightly stronger than the one in 99. Rio & Vidic were pretty much the two best CB's back then... good times! But yeah, the teams in the 90's were also pretty good.
I completely agree! He (and United) were cruelly robbed off a cult hero for sure. He would have helped filled the gap left by Keane and he could also keep the ball effortlessly, so Scholes would not have left such a big absence in the games he missed (and obviously when he retired). Hargreaves had a wonderful ability to consistently win the ball without going to ground. Hard as nails and what an engine. I remember United playing Liverpool away and Hargreaves played and tackled Gerrard out of the game - it was fantastic!
dave790 Yeah! I remember that gave vs Liverpool. Out of all the central midfielders we have now, I see some potential in Ander Herrera. Hopefully he gets better!
I feel really bad for Owen Hargreaves. Because he was an outstanding player when he was fit for Manchester United. But he was so unlucky with his injuries. In his last season when he walked off with that hamstring injury against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford, after 5 minutes, I was devastated for him.
people who make fun of Hargreaves, only thing you have to see his performance at world cup 2006. he was the best player on that England squad, outshine players like Gerrard, Lampard, Beckham in the midfield
as an arsenal fan,I miss that 07/08 team,it was probably the strongest squad we had post invincibles finished with 83 points if it was against a weaker united and chelsea side we probably would've won the league
This is Ronaldo- realising the position is better suited to bend low rather than dip up and down the wall so close to goal, not selfishly taking everything. An example of something that made his team play better
There's also no way that goes in if the wall jumps. But because they're expecting Ronaldo to take it and Hargreaves only takes one step, they don't move. Great set piece
R Dubb correction. This is Ronaldo of united. The Madrid Ronaldo would never have give that free kick to another player. As soon as he left Manchester he became consumed by his own ego and can be pretty embarrassing to watch sometimes, throwing fits at his team mates. If he did any of that shit at United fergie would have bollocked him
If only Owen Hargreaves didn't suffer all those injuries he could been another Manchester legend
BlurrZ53 He still is for me! :')
+firdauskotp He's not a legend. That word is thrown around far too lightly. He was very good in the 07/08 campaign but that was it...not legend worthy in the slightest considering the players that have played for United. And this is coming from someone who loved Hargreaves when he was at United
BlurrZ53 champions league and multiple prem league winner. Already a legend in my book
He probably would have stayed in Bayern Munich..
+Donal So the backup goalkeeper of Real Madrid is a legend as well cause he won multiple CL titles and LaLiga titles?
Hargreaves was class. He had everything. Great engine, an absolute wand of a right foot, read the game to perfection. Such a shame about the injuries. We were after him for years from Bayern, fantastic player
Chelsea fan here, Hargreaves was very underrated imo
Remember watching this 10 years ago live on tv. Hargreaves taking the kick caught everybody off guard. No wonder the wall didn't jump.
And what was the "Wall" waiting for?? Waiting for Christmas then jump ah??
@@frankiehuangjianwei469 They probably though Hargreaves was faking them out
Pretty sure everyone and their mothers would have had money Ronaldo was going to hit it.
Well except for that future Man United legend: Arsenal's No. 11
Owen Hargreaves was one of my favorite players , always giving everything for the team, he suffered many injuries and that avoided him to continue in the team, he could be one of the greatest Manchester United players.

yeah he truly was a good midfielder, but he got too many injuries.
Francisco Juarez a lot of people don’t know he played through injuries too haha! He was a top technically gifted midfielder. Wish we saw more of him in england
Still memorable to me.
My god. Say what you want about Rio Ferdinand but my god the fucking passion inside of him when he dons the United jersey is unbelieveable. And to think tht he was among the top 5 best defenders in the world during his peak made non united fans jealous as sour grapes.
ahchaibloodcrip I admire his passion, no doubt about that, he is not among the top 5 best defenders in the world
Ian Leo he was at one point though, without question.
Vidić- Ferdinand, one of the best full backs partnership in football history !
Fei Li *centre backs.
Alex G
Yep, my mistake !
I miss the audience's voice

Such a clever free kick. Great goal!

Long hair. Number 19. Difficult to notice him though
Philly Phan won the champions league with them
I remember be was purposely shite
Youre not united fan if forget pique... he is with team when united won champions league
Eagles gonna destroy the giants
Will never forget Hargreaves, he was immense until his injury hell began. We wouldn't have midfield problems if he was fit right now.
United were the best in the world that year
ye... then!!!
michael hammond now we're not even the best in manchester
We'll get there again dont you worry.

Rio legitly loved United with his soul and life. But ABUs will not agree with u because of pure jealousy.

One of my favourite ever players, an incredible game, an amazing moment, what a team the class of 2008 was.
This is one of the greatest piece of footballing ACT ever enacted. Extremely brilliant.
How time flies 😢
I was just 21 in 2008
Miss those days.. United was the best club in world back in days
His freekick record for MANUTD is amazing. He scored 2 out of 3 freekick he took in 2008. Another shot happened when MANUTD vs Fulham.

The best season
Did his job to perfection.
Arhhhh the scenes! Miss these days
When I was following MU at the time, I totally took this team for granted.
Who do you follow now?
First United game i was at and the atmosphere was amazing. I was right below the Arsenal fans too and god they were loud the entire match!!
I remember this like it was yesterday 😍 good ol times
true legends of football here in the field
Perfectly perfect
I can’t believe this was 10 years ago, I remember watching this sat at my friends house eating a pizza and drinking beer.
Fantastically talented player. Likeable too
A total deft touch by Hargreaves made the freekick look so simple. Absolute masterclass from him. Lehman was deceived completely by Ronaldo's posture.
Anderson is the mind-game-master
Jesus! Gerard Pique among the celebrators! I always forget he played for us...
Simoslav Klose I can't see him, in which minute he appears can you tell me¿?

Hargreaves is one of the main reasons MUFC won the last CL..
The best player in both legs of semifinal against Barca
I was eagerly waiting for his comeback too. During that match, I was so excited when i saw the first 11 lineups. But then, after that 5 mins, everything changed.. Sigh, hope for speedy recover.
Such an important goal for us in the title race.

Owen Hargreaves and Solksjaer.... after the place crash, those two's injuries are the next most tragic thing to ever happen at united.
