So my stick vac was pulsating and i followed all instruction, but, but, let me tell you, they NEVER said taking the sox off the wire, noooo,, just run it under the tap as is, so i went outside to get the sox filter ( it was drying) took it off the wire"so bloody easy" and it was completely encrusted with wghat looked like a solid piece of a tower of mud, if you please, shocked, ive cleaned my dyson 3x now, over the 4yrs ive had it, the "pros" never ever mention removal of the sox!!! Thankyou, for yr very smart and helpful hack , im sure my dyson will last alot longer now 👍👍

I had the same. Washing and drying the filter for YEARS left me with a solid lump of condensed dirt and dust so hard I had to break it up to remove it. thanks to this guys videos on the V6 I have got my stuck brush head working again and now have a filter that works like new… I washed the filter in nice smelling zeflora antibacterial stuff while it was apart.. gets rid of the horrible smells.

I’m watching this at 1am on a work night and as soon as I saw you pull out the filter from the top I just said NO WAAAAY!
Lmao I’ve had my v8 for like 6 years and I didn’t even know there was a filter from the top!!!
I ran to the vacuum and pulled it out straight away. 1am out here cleaning that filter. It was
Soooooooooooooooooooooo dusty and clogged. That probably explains why the battery is draining quick hahaha. Thank you

Omg thank you! I replaced the battery and charger. I didn't do the filter and almost threw out my V7. Life saver!!!

  • @kalinnaslay
    @kalinnaslay ปีที่แล้ว +4

Omg thank you sooooooooooo much for posting this. I did just like you demonstrated on this video. I pryed that filter open and I saw the famous blockage it was dust bunnies and dirt, so compacted it was hard as a rock. I had to tap that filter skeleton several times to loosen that buildup. But it worked!😊
Now my V7 works like brand new straight out of the box, man. Of course I had to run the vacuum twice on my living room floor because the first batch looked like an old lady's grayish wig stuck in there. The second batch looked like normal grayish sand-like dust. But I ran it a third time and my floors are clean AF. In fact, my wooden floors look like I had recently buffed them with wax. The shine is incredible.
You saved me from throwing this vacuum out the window and purchasing a new one. Bless your heart😊
    BTW you are very concise🎉

You just saved me buying a new Vacum - thank you! My filter inside was blocked exactly what you said ... even Dyson thought it was my battery due to the pulsing and gave me a new battery but problem still remained! I was ready to chuck it out but as I paid $900 I kept investigating and came across your video. Used a knife to unclip the purple filter and cleared it out like you mentioned. Worked perfectly straight after.

    You saved the day/year!
A friend recently tossed his 3+ month old Dyson that is like the one seen in this video...straight into his trash can, because it was running intermittently.
I had a hunch that it was some type built-in over heating/vacuum motor feature and asked if I could have it. He agreed and thanks to your video, I now have a clean, fully operational cordless Dyson floor sweeper/vacuum cleaner!
    Thank you very much!

Thanks so much for posting this, my Dyson V7 that I bought in 2019 had started pulsating and had been sitting unused for about 12 months whilst I struggled with a heavy Henry, followed your advice on cleaning the inside of the filter and it's working well again. You have saved me forking out for an expensive and unnecessary repair as I was outside of the warranty period.

Brilliant! At no stage have I seen Dyson explain how to clean that filter. I used to rinse the outside. Just cleaned mine and whilst not too bad, certainly had dirt to clear from inside. Initially the water wouldn't run out of it until a few rinses and some dirt then much cleaner. Thank You!!

My vacuum was dead and this video works like magic! I never
know that I should take off the sox and clean the inside. Dyson’s instruction only instructs to put the sox under running water for some time. Turned out that there are a lot of wool/ fur inside the sox so clotting it. After I emptied the inside of sox, my vacuum revived in a split second! Thank you so much for your helpful information! 🌹🌹

I took it out washed it in a bowl of water, I couldn't believe the amount of crap that came out, and the water was black ! I thoroughly washed it many times until the water was clear.. I left it to dry for a couple of day. It did the trick, the suction is back to normal. Thanks.

Wow. Thank you so much. We have had a Dyson V8 animal attached to the wall and not used for at least a year due to the pulsing problem. I cleaned virtually every orifice I could find but not that one. Dyson themselves couldn't help. It was just an ornament.
Must admit taking the filter off using those clips was difficult. I needed a screwdriver. But once inside I found a chunk of dust. Cleaning it out and replacing it, I wasn't actually that optimistic but it worked. We now have a functioning cordless hoover again :-) Thank you again.

Thanks for the filter cleaning tip. The amount of c**p in the centre of my "clean" filter was unbelievable. My Dyson is back to it's best.

Thank you for this vid. I followed your tips and it will hopefully now work when the filter dries. 🙏🏻🤞

Brilliant. Thanks. I was about to throw my vacuum away: it was pulsing, then dying on me within seconds. Now that I’ve emptied the ‘sock,’ no problems.

The filter info was good thanks. That isn't the only inconvenient place dirt is trapped. The funnel area inside the bin is almost impossible to reach and harbours an almighty mess. Dyson had us all fooled.
