Hello thank you for your amazing explanation. In my case how do i know that is the charging issue because until yesterday my cauum was okay and charging and today when i put in the charger there are not showing any lights.. so apparently is not charging( no lights at all)
I have no lites at all on dyson dc59 vaccum will not run charger is working. do you think battery is completely bad? this is second battery.

Guitar picks do wonders to remove the two piece filters and the tab slots don't stretch and get that white color or even worse break

does this apply to the sv09? charges but thin only runs for about .5 seconds before turning off and flashing blue light

I need help. I’ve got the Dyson V7 cordless vacuum and it’s not working for a while now. It blinks blue 10x both sides. Filter is spotless. I’m close to unscrewing the parts 😭
Good morning ☕️ any update? It may be a weak battery acting sporadically. Or, it may be as simple as cleaning the vacuum’s internal electrical contacts. Below is a helpful video showing how to clean contacts.

Hi. We have charged the battery and %100 is written on the screen with a full battery icon, but dyson v12 doesn't work. We just bought it, 10 days ago. We didn't even wash the filter. So it may not be the filter but what?
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. You definitely should not be experiencing any issues whatsoever with your vacuum being only 10 days old.
It may be best to contact the manufacture and get a replacement vacuum as this one may be faulty from the get go.
Malfunctions within the first two weeks of owning it is not good or normal.
In my case, my Dyson is flashing blue 3 times and won’t work. The battery is new and fully charged and yet I’ve the issue mentioned above. I have even completely removed the canister to ensure it’s not a filter blockage issue, but still same issue. Do you know what I should do?

After cleaning the filter, if it’s still ever-so-slightly wet or moist prior to going back into the vacuum, it will lead this this issue.

The filter is not even attached when I do this test. The issue I described above, with the 3 times blinking light, is happening no matter if the filter is attached to the Dyson or not. So according to my understanding it cannot be related to the filter. What do you think?

Thanks for the reply, sounds like it’s not, that’s good. The next thing we need to direct our attention to is the electrical leads that the battery connects into.
Check to see if there is any corrosion or lint buildup on the electrical leads that may be causing an interference with the electrical connection.
It’s extremely unlikely that your brand new battery is faulty however we can’t rule it out.
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders thanks a lot for replying. It’s tricky. I follow the steps you mentioned above but I am frankly in doubt about my so called “new batteries” I purchased, perhaps they’re defective.

Thanks for watching. A few additional things can cause this, including a worn out and sporadically behaving battery as well as the lint canister being full.

When I charge I’m getting no lights. If I do click the trigger the blue light will flash. I’m not sure if it’s the battery or the charger.

My unit is not turning on. I get a blue light when charging, but no lights when unplugged pressing the trigger button.

I think all them filters etc, make it look more than a hoover. At end of day my dyson has packed up after about 3 years. This tutorial does explain alot though,its good demonstration. I just mean the hoover would be better less filters n screws etc,if it lasted longer.

Hello mine is charging without any problems, no error codes. But if i press the button, the battery shows its charging without blinking but te motor isnt spinning. Sometimes it works without any problems…
Thanks for watching, we would start with cleaning all of the electrical leads. Dust buildup and debris on electrical leads can cause this as well as corrosion on the leads.

My Dyson 6 has a solid green light and won’t run. Does that mean I need a new battery?

Good morning, just poured a cup of coffee and am sitting down to answer any and all questions for the DIY community.
It’s likely that your battery is the cause. In addition, if your battery is only providing power for 5-7 minutes after a full nights charge, it’s definitely time to replace it.
Also, we strongly recommend purchasing an OEM Dyson battery as opposed to an aftermarket battery. We have talked to many people that purchased an aftermarket battery and it only lasted 3 months…not good…

What if the light is red when I try to turn it on?
If the light is red you need a new battery
What if none of the lights come on ?

I followed the advice here. The amber light flashes less than 4 times. I bought a new battery less than a year ago. So I sent away for a new power supply and tried this in several outlets. Same error message. Sorry, not successful.

I’ve stripped it fully and cleaners and washed everything ??

(With charger connected to vacuum)
• Unplug charger from wall
• Plug charger back in
• Press and hold trigger for 20 seconds
• Release trigger after 20 seconds
• Allow battery to charge

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders OK - just done this now. The charging cable is now plugged directly into V6.. Will wait for 4hours whilst dyson is charging, i will come back to you.. thank you for taking time out to reply to me.

My vacuum is charging, I have cleaned it out recently and then it worked really great, now it will not power on at all I am getting absolutely nothing.… But I get all blue lights on when I push the trigger. They are not flashing there just solid blue, but absolutely nothing is happening. Help!!!

When I say, I’m getting absolutely nothing I mean absolutely nothing no sound or anything… Everything is completely cleaned out. I’ve taken it apart. Clean the filters. It work great for a couple times and then now, I get all four lights charged when I pull the trigger. They are solid blue, and no sound or nothing it’s like it is completelydead… Watch the link and that is not the problem it’s a Dyson V8, motorhead origin…
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders thanks for checking up on me, I watched the video and it is not the same situation I guess?… When I pulled the trigger, there’s absolutely no sound or movement at all just completely nothing everything is cleaned out battery completely charged all four lights solid blue.

Dyson vacuum cleaners don’t really get along with aftermarket batteries.
Wash it from outside to inside, or you will greatly take life outta it.
