Thanks for posting this! My conclusion is they are the same unit, built by the same factory, and the main differences are the warranty on the Pulsar and the battery trickle charge on the Genmax.
Besides the minor relocations and missing "creature comforts", I note the large ventilation area around the muffler on the Pulsar versus the small area on the Genmax. I also noted the Pulsar has a oil drain extension hose to keep mess to a minimum; the Genmax has the regular drain bolt. Another difference is that the Genmax costs $379 MORE than the Pulsar according to Amazon.
I have two Pulsar 10500 tri fuel units with parallel kit. I can already run the whole house with one unit and one A/C but with them both connected together, I can run both A/C units. 4 ton and 3.5ton.
I am hooking up to my natural gas from my house. What size pressure regulator do I need. Running straight it will not start. With a regulator from my heater it will work. Just wanted to make sure I had proper flow when called for Max RPMs. Thank you
Great video once again Gavin. I need a little large inverter. Two questions: 1) noticed DuroMax released their inverter XP16000iHT tri fuel. Any chance of doing a review on this unit? and 2) you mentioned that GenMax would releasing their GM 17000 trifuel Inverter. Any line of site on the timing for this unit?
@@jackjacks5480 I do not know, they are easy to identify, there is the thumb screw for the "filter" screen and the low oil alert uses a pressure switch similar to an automobile.
It looks like the Pulsar was about 2-3 db quieter overall. I was guessing it would be the opposite, as the exhaust on the Genmax looks much more "engineered", whereas the Pulsar looks to have a basic automotive muffler installed, and looks much cheaper. The Pulsar's exhaust sounded a little less-refined and raspy. It seems crazy to have 2 "identical" units from the same factory, coming with a completely different exhaust system. Both units seem to be listed right around the same retail price, too. The Pulsar doesn't have the LED light or the battery charger port, but the 3 year warranty is compelling for sure. It would be interesting to to a db test under 50% and 100% (or close to it) loads, to see if the Pulsar remains 2-3 db quieter than the Genmax. That might be the deciding factor.
I also thought the Pulsar seemed quieter but that the Genmax had a bit of a high pitched whine in its exhaust sound. The muffler on the Genmax seemed quite a bit beefier, being made of cast iron which I would have guessed made it more subdued. The one year warranty on the Genmax makes it seem "disposable". One year certainly makes it appear Genmax doesnt stand by its product. Online I found a link that showed the 3 year warranty on the Pulsar could be extended an ADDITIONAL 2 years just by registering- if getting real service is even possible without a large service network.
When using the Genmax along with a EG4 inverter would I need to use any specific type of Chargeverter or anything like that while using the generator to charge my system?
Hey I've been watching your videos you are very knowledgeable and I appreciate them. I just purchased a poxurio generator that gen Max makes so I did the break-in procedure. But every now and then when I start it it has a misfire or backfire but then it runs fine it only happens when I started it occasionally is that normal or should I send it back and get another one. What do you think I should do. I have searched TH-cam for videos that's only a couple of videos on it maybe you can do one on it I purchase the 6000 watt.
@@GeneratorReviewsIs that really all? I’ve been trying to research this exact thing and I thought a ~7kw natural gas output generator like this would be pushing 100k BTUs.
Has anyone who owns either a Pulsar or Genmax generator like this had a MAJOR warranty service issue, and HOW did that turn out? I am really curious as to how legitimate the warranty on these generators REALLY is. People who spend a ton of money on a Honda know that they are getting a reliable machine that can be repaired all over the USA but these newer companies like Genmax and Pulsar with their feature packed units dont seem to have much presence in the USA at all. On Amazon the Pulsar is currently selling for $2500, compared to the Genmax at $2900.
What about reliability for each? That is most important! Cosmetics really means little when we need emergency power. Run them for the break-in period and test the oil. That would be a comparison! If you want us to tell you which one we like best, we need a LOT more information. Otherwise, I prefer blue!🤷♂️
Surprised they are the same weight with one have cast iron exhaust and the other plastic. Also surprised Pulsar with plastic exhaust is actually slightly quieter. Not sure why both are 60lbs more than the Westinghouse 11k inverter and 40lbs more than the Duromax 11k.
@@TheSnakeman3 -- You generally want a floating neutral if you intend to feed your home's breaker panel during a power outages because your home's electrical service is already bonded and you only want a single bond point where the neutral and ground are joined together. You typically want a bonded neutral generator for a construction site generator or food trailer. I think it's easier to bond a floating neutral generator then un-bond a bonded generator.

More differences than expected. Genmax seems more appealing to me. The higher exhaust should be safer for running it around grass and plants. 👍👍
That’s a great point about the grass👍🏾

Thank you for this detailed comparison video. There are features that I like on both units. Especially, in an emergency, I would buy either one.
I have the Generac Ultra Source 15KW and 17.5 KW, plus two Duromax XP9000iH and my newest Kubota GL14000. It's a sweetheart.
The Kubota is the REAL deal.
Thanks for the comparison review. How do you trigger charge the Pulsar?
You can plug a battery tender and some Schumacher chargers into the SAE pigtail on the battery. Some models require a polarity reversing SAE adapter.

They both have pressurized lubrication. I am a huge fan of this 459 engine ( I have the generac GP9200E )
Where did you get that propane tank ??
I got it on Amazon
Same 459 as the Harbor freight predator 459cc?

I will make a video showing how to convert to floating neutral
How about show the difference between covered and uncovered panels .
