This is a guy with a lot of common sense. His conclusion is spot on. It's hard to explain why you should buy a 6x more expensive smartwatch besides the fact it looks more traditional.
I have had a few Samsung Galaxy watches but ended up returning them. Never had enough battery to last through the day. Got a Mi Band 4 and I LOVE it. The battery last me over 20 days at a time. No more battery anxiety! It works extremely well and I am blown away for what you get for the money. Does everything the Samsung watches did aside from calls and texts. I always have a Bluetooth headset for calls and my fingers are too big to be texting anything on such small screens.
Loved this review. Detailed. Informative. Easy to listen to. Is that right. You don’t have to sync to an app if you want the band to be stand alone. Will that affect the time display.
The Honour Band 5 sounds like a good shout for me! I deliberately don't want a smart watch because I enjoy wearing my chronograph watch, however I want something a bit more accurate than a clip on pedometer, as I'm a keen walker! I'm also asthmatic, so the pulse oximetry feature will be great! I will check the accuracy compared to my manual pulse oximeter, but I'm sure it'll be reliable! and for £30... bargain! Plus I like the idea of having smart phone notifications on my wrist, especially when I'm not allowed my phone out at work, AND you can change the band which is good because my skin reacts wierdly to nylon and silicone. I'll let you know my thoughts once it arrives and I have the chance to use it!
Its not bad for the price. I'd personally pay a little bit extra for Wear O/S but I count myself in the prosumer market. I think for the general consumer or someone on a tight budget its a pretty good option for them. Out of interest, what does the red chair/person icon stand for that is shown at 0:57?
That's pretty fair, I'd prefer WearOS myself too. That icon is "activity hours", how active you are during the day, I think the /12hrs is it's target amount of active hours
I absolutely love band type smartwatch because when you have activities like lifting running gym cooking seimming etc. Its soo comfotable as if your not wearing any watch.unlike the watches round or the square one its huge and has weight in it. Also prone to scratches and stuff. Also Honor Band watch is AMOLED display! Imagine that at that price some are more expensive but just lcd. Lol
Run a measured 5K Honor Band 5 recorded the distance as 7K had a refund. My Honor Band 3 recorded the 5K accuratelyimpressed with Honor Band 5 with purchase another one which I hope will not have the same problem
The most bizarre permission it needs is the camera - is that for the camera remote shutter use? Apparently, that is only available when it is connected to Huawei phones. As for storage access and contact access. Well, my Galaxy Watch Active 2 needs that too. Nevertheless, incredibly impressive for what it does. Very good concise review. I personally still like smart watches more as I can take phone calls on my wrist and reply to texts with my voice. Oh, and NFC payments.
I does not have everything what I expected to do or to have. No interval workout, not able to answers calls, not blood pressure measurement. But for the price it is a decent and nice band. And it is working flawlessly with my P30 and health app. But battery life is not good. If you have sleep monitoring and raise to open screen and heart rate monitor even on smart setting it last only 5 days at most. If you cancel raise to open screen you get 7 days. So the 2 week battery life is a scam.
I was confused when I watched this video considering how great you said this thing was - I classed the honor band 5 as a smart watch. But I get it now because you're not classing this thing as a smart watch, is that right?

Really really well-done sir. I'm making the purchase today.
Great job reviewing and actually showing it in use on the wrist

My smart watch is still working 😛

Honestly its identical to the Samsung Gear fit fitness band infact the UI looks suspiciously familiar and so does the charging cradle

No. It's different.

Wear a ‘tracker’ from Huawei.... 🤔
Um, no
But that tracker can save you from the covid while your overpriced apple can't

Hi
hello
Yea nah pass... Hard pass
*Looks at the Apple watch*
That is a fitness band, more than a Smartwatch. The title should say "Fitness Trackers are Dead".
No, it's correct, he means that smart watches are dead because smart bands can almost do the same things and they're smaller and way cheaper
