Hang in there! I'm on Pristiq for about 3 months now and I can say that things are better BUT only because I'm seeing a therapist alongside it to get into better and better habits to maintain the effects so that when I eventually stop the medications, the effects would keep on. The medication didn't really change my thoughts, it just made my anxious thoughts "slower" and easier to manage, if that makes any sense. The thoughts aren't changing though, and that's where therapy is helpful in terms of getting into good habits to actually change those thoughts. It's a journey but it's worth it! Keep it up 💙💪

I think most people don’t find the right medication right away. I sought help for anxiety and depression and was diagnosed with add 😅. Here I am with pristiq 50mg after a wild trip with Wellbutrin. I’m desperate. However I know this is going to take awhile. My good days are really what gives me hope. Still more dark days than good but we’ll see. I’m paring the psychiatrist with a psychologist and about to seek therapy. I’ve neglected this long enough. We all deserve to be neutral at least.

Wow do I understand you. I have been on medications that do work. However, after being on them sometimes for ten years or more they can lose their efficacy. I am so sorry you are on this difficult journey. Those that have not been on it simply cannot understand the difficulties it brings. I am switching to a new psychiatrist this week as I feel like my current one is not sure what to do next. For me, my faith in God has kept me from falling over the ledge completely. Without that I honestly don’t know what I would do.

I just started my 50mg of pristiq today after being on Lexapro and also Prozac for many months and saw no results. I suffer from depression, severe anxiety and adhd. My journey has been a struggle too. I’ve tried buspar as well for my anxiety and saw no real difference. I’m definitely in the camp of “nothing seems to be working” and my depression has been aggressively getting worse. I’m hoping pristiq gets me in the right direction. Thank you for sharing your story and making us feel like we’re not alone.

I feel like this too it’s like I’ve tried multiple things and sometimes it works when I first began medication and then it stops working and tbh that has to be one of the worst feeling Bc you put a lot of hope into it and Pristiq worked for a few days like 5-6 and it just stopped and could honestly say my moods in proved for those days but it’s weird for it to just stop but when I was on Prozac that worked for the first month then after that month it didn’t work any more and I was on it for like 5-6 months

I can certainly relate. I struggle more with derealization, but I know how scary it all can be. The important thing I’ve learned is to try and live through the symptoms of dissociation and overtime they start to lessen. It’s such a hard thing to not fear those feelings, but fear makes it stick around. I hope your medicines start to help. if they aren’t, don’t forget to be really honest with your doctor about it all. You deserve the proper treatment and care!
