    Never stop fighting. We're all in it together. I have many similar anxious symptoms have cycled through 6 different antidepressant medications, none of which I've gotten relief from. The biggest things that I have found extremely helpful in my personal case are (1) meditation and (2) exercise. Andrew Huberman also has some natural protocols like cold showers that have helped.

    Would love an update. I’ve been on all the meds you have been on for anxiety. What helped me was 100mg of prestiq. I know your doc says studies don’t show above 50mg is any more effective but I know for me 50 was not cutting it and 100 was when I got relief. I sleep really good on it too. I hope you are doing good. I can totally relate to your struggles.

      Hey Deborah! I am doing much better! I have added a couple meds, but I’m finally back to work and enjoying life more. I’m so glad the 100 mg helped you, and I’ve definitely heard that from others.

    My mediation regimen is 200mg Zoloft, 25mg Hydroxyzine 3 times a day, 20mg propranolol 2 times a day, and 10mg Buspar 2 times a day... they really told me "you can't be anxious if you're unconscious" but liess.. everyone knows anxiety driven dreams exist and are the WORST

    I'm currently working through some pretty gnarly anxiety problems at the moment, and am taking Mirtazapine (Remeron), but just been prescribed Propranolol for physical symptoms, about to take my first dose as I would love to be able to get out of bed to spend time with my family at all during Christmas hehe, hoping it works as well for me as it has for you.
    I'm also considering getting tested for ADHD, interestingly...

    Thank you so much for this video! I am taking 5mg of buspar in the morning, midday, and 10mg at bedtime and was just recently prescribed propranolol. I have been scared to death to take it because I too had a HORRIBLE experience with Wellbutrin and have some fear to overcome when it comes to trying new meds. I was leery to take Buspar and propanolol together but this has made me feel better about it!

    Your beautiful! Something about ur aura gives me peace. Can you share some updates regarding how your doing and what meds your on? Im about to start pristiq but I think a lot of my issues are actually from ADHD. Unfortunately my pscyh wont allow me to start adhd meds unless if I start an antidepressant

  • @kitdrawsalot
    @kitdrawsalot 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I was taking Wellbutrin and my doc put me on Ritalin. It was a small dosage, I didn’t notice any thing the first day but by night, I started having repeated anxiety attacks, intrusive thoughts, and insomnia. It increased my stress hormones way too much. I was able to get a prescription for Hydroxyzine that helped me out. My anxiety makes it hard to treat adhd :( I’m going to ask my doc about the beta blockers and continue with supplements to boost my GABA and lower stress and I switched from coffee to Matcha Green tea.

    I started this medication to take with sertraline. I'm 36 and haven't found my triggers, I stopped for a few weeks and oh man it was a pain. I've noticed that I've been super drowsy as well, I've also heard for those who have had covid you may have lingering affects for upward of a year.

    Hey Bri, ive just been watching your vids since you started taking Pritiq, i was originally on Zoloft but gave me some of the most whack thoughts, impaulsiveness and felt like i was dreaming all the time, I do suffer from Dp/Dr Disorder and i wasn't expecting you to even bring it up in ur original video. Im shit scared of taking Pritiq after those thoughts but ultimately how well do you think it helped your dissociation? and how bad was it before medication? ive had it since July 2021, it sucks, but hope you're feeling more connected :)

      Hello! My DP/DR has been my most upsetting symptom. It was 24/7 for quite awhile. It’s started lifting, although I do still experience it after moments of high stress. Learning to cope and live through it has helped the symptoms lessen. I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and started medicine for it which is what noticeably helped my dissociation. Pristiq helped me push outside my comfort zone which has helped indirectly with the DPDR. It’s such a scary feeling, and I’m so sorry you’re having to go through it as well. I hope you find what you need to help you through, and it’s important to know, even though it’s stuck around for a long time, it’s not a permanent symptom.

    So pretty much a basket case but my question is about the propranolol. I wake up excited and happy to start my day. That's actually when I feel the best. Amd then as soon as I drive to work it's just intrusive thoughts followed by extreme levels of like breathing to much or being to amped up. Then the thoughts get worse. Then I get to work and it takes hours to calm down. Does the propranolol seem to help with those intense heightened symptoms?

    If you have anxiety at the root of your issues you should maybe ask your doctor about why they are giving you desvenlafaxine (it also raises norepinephrine -dose dependently-, not as strongly as serotonin, but still) People who already have heightened noradrenergic signaling in their brains likely don’t need even more of it, but less, and that’s why probably propranolol has helped you, because it acutely decreases norepinephrine signaling). Anyway, if you are fine on desvenlafaxine, don’t mind me. And as for ADHD, well, are you sure you have it just because your nurse practitioner suggested so? If it doesn’t severely affect your life (probably unlike anxiety or depression), do you really think that adding another diagnosis and more medication could be beneficial? Just be careful about what they want to give you for it, because if it’s a stimulant, well, mixing stimulants and anxiety, you know… Of course, it’s your and your doctor’s common decision after all, but if you start browsing the DSM, I can guarantee that you will find more and more things that you can relate to, but nothing becomes a problem unless it significantly interferes with your daily routines and your life in general. I wish you good health and I’m pretty sure that you are going to find what you need to alleviate your problems , be it medication, be it relaxation techniques or whatever it helps. Sending you positive thoughts, see ya!

      Hi Julio! Thank you for taking the time to comment and share this with me. Anxiety is a big issue, but it’s actually a symptom of other things that were not being treated. It may seem a bit counterintuitive to use an SNRI for anxiety, but there have actually been studies showing medicine that work on norepinephrine can alleviate anxiety in some. Everyone is different which is why things can be challenging when finding the right treatment. I understand youre coming form a place of concern when you mention the DSM-5; however, getting the ADHD diagnosis has actually been an incredible help in my healing as well as a wonderful affirmation of my experiences as a child. I’m treating my ADHD, I am finally getting back into my feet and everyday tasks are easier. There’s a lot to my story of healing, but for me personally, this has been a missing piece. Also, I’m not afraid of medication anymore, as I just want to be happy and healthy. I think there’s a big stigma that prevents people from taking meds when it is a very viable option - especially for people like me who have been doing the work in therapy, tried all the holistic routes, and I still was struggling to function everyday. I hope this answers some curiosities and general concern you may have had in watching this. Wishing you happiness and good health as well(:
