Lovely update from the giant yellow hibiscus bush to the zygos! That orchid that has flowered three times in the one year though? You have a magic touch!

Hi Fernanda, great update on your blooms, loved it! Your garden looks very beautiful under the blue sky in Portugal, I'm so jealous! You are the queen of zygopetalum, love those juicy blooms! They are growing so healthy and the blooms are amazing! Thanks for sharing and happy growing.
Hi Mary!!!I am quite happy with the Zygos, turns out they are not as difficult to grow as I thought. Days are still rainy or dull but at least nights are not cold yet which is great. Have a wonderful weekend and thank you so much for watching and commenting, much appreciated 🙏💖😘😘😘😘

Olá amiga Josefina 😍 Por aqui, o outono costuma ser mais agradável que a primavera que é quase tão fria quanto o inverno. Mas não posso queixar me, pois nunca faz demasiado frio ou demasiado calor. Hi dear Annie, yes, these fall storms are of tropical type and temperatures are quite mild. I miss the sun but the rain is very welcome after many months without it. Although I miss the sun, I still feel happy, we cannot have everything 😅 Thank you for being here and hope you are set to a wonderful weekend 🌷💐💖🥰🥰
All looking good! Love the Hibiscus still in bloom and your orchids really seem to like it there. You're fortunate you don't get to cold temperatures in winter there. Here we're going near freezing at night starting next week. God, I wish I was living more down South now. I hate the cold and all warm winter clothing has had to come out of the closet again.

Hi Marc, for the time being temperatures at night are still 16 to 18 C which allows the orchids to continue outdoors. Days are not much warmer than that and they are dull and rainy bit we cannot have it all. Besides, after many dry months, the rain is most welcome. December is usually a drier/sunnier month which will bring the cold which is also necessary to kill the pests 😅 Have a wonderful weekend, Marc and thanks for commenting 🙏🥰🥰🥰

Hi Justin 👋 I barely see the sun these days, it comes out very rarely and we have been having a lot of rain too. Although I am missing the sun and the energy I get from it, I am happy with the rain after many months without a drop. I also am feeling very fortunate that nights are warm, around 16 to 18, not much cooler than days, allowing me to keep orchids outdoors for longer than usual. I will try again 🥰 loved the light in this video, and I bet that it was a nice break from all the storms you have been having! I forgot what I mentioned in my earlier comment, but one thing is for sure, caterpillars... what a shame. I am so sorry and while I agree with you that, having one spike to enjoy... still, you took it better than I would have 😘 love seeing all the buds on your magnolia tree as well. Love that tree!! Thank you for insisting till the comment sticks 🙏💖 also for watching. Temperatures continue ok for the orchids to continue outdoors. We had a couple of nights with 13 C but they came back up to 17 C and will be for the next couple of weeks if nothing changes. But days continue dull if not rainy, very little sun and although day temps are 17 to 20 C I feel cold because it is humid and dark. No veranillo de San Martin this year, what a shame, right? Still, we have to be grateful for the mild climate we live in. Hope you a had a nice painless day. Much love to all of you 😘😘😘😘
So much to see in you garden! So many amazing flowers. The Clematis color is spectacular.🤩🤩The camelia blossoms are so pretty. Sadly,my 2 remaining camelias died this year with the extreme heat... Your Cymbidium patch looks great. I wish I could grow them. Also, great orchid blooms. Glad you were able to enjoy at least one spike from the Louisendorf. Really enjoyed looking at your Zygo flowers. Thank you for sharing your garden update😊
So sorry for your Camellias, they prefer cooler temperatures. In some parts of my country they grow to very large trees but here I cannot grow them directly on the ground because they require acidic soil and my soil is alkaline. That is why I have it on the pot which also allows me to place it in the shade. Nights are still warm enough to keep orchids outdoors but the weather is dull. I really miss the sun. But we cannot have everything and so I am feeling happy, anyway. Have a wonderful weekend my friend 💖💐🌷🥰🥰😘
oh my! Caterpillars !!! grass hopper are my enemy, but this year it was snails, I surely Don't want to see Caterpillars next Spring
Denise, catterpillars have done a lot of damage here this year. Snails and slugs are not welcome either. But I do not have grasshopers. From what I've seen are terribly voracious too. The joys of growing outdoors 😬😬😬

In fact it's been quite tropical lately. And although days are dull and rainy, nights are still around 16 to 18 C, not much cooler than the days. I miss the sun but I feel happy that at least I still can keep orchids outdoors for the time being 😊💝😊

Spring is cool out here, usually not much warmer than winter. Whereas autumn is as warm as summer and usually very sunny. Not this year, though. But after many dry months the rain is very welcome. But still nights are warm enough, not much cooler than days, which is great, I still have all orchids outdoors 😊💝

My family has been fighting red Oxalis (Oxalis corniculata var. atropurpurea) for DECADES with no success. As a kid I always found them so beautiful with the dark burgundy leaves and bright yellow flowers.
So many spikes coming on the orchids! My Zygopetalum is SUFFERING so much. I guess the new environment after the move is not what Oncidium types like. Also all of the Miltoniopsis died.
So sorry to hear that you lost your gorgeous Miltoniopsis and that your other Oncidium have not aproved the move. (I hope you adapted well to a new country, though and that you are enjoying your line of work). Some orchids are so sensitive to changes. On the other hand Cattleyas seem to be more rezilient and more adaptable. I wonder it is because they have sturdier structures like thicker roots and leaves 🤔 Have a great week to start the New Year
