    Awesome video buddy! Amazing what different weight of oil can do👍

    People will probably think I’m crazy but I run 100w in the front and 120w in the back. Prob gonna go 120 all the way around. I started with 50w front and back. Couldn’t notice the difference. Then I knew I could make the jump to 80 front and back. STILL wasn’t it, so I went to 100 front, 120 back. She runs GREAT! She handles good and I’d really have to send it to get bad chassis slap

      I don't think that's crazy at all, since this video I've gone to 80wt all round and thinking about 100 or 120 actually.
      You got me excited to try it lol

      Where did you find 100 and 120 wt oil ?

    The v2 manual says the the stock oil weight is 60, but that's hard to believe based on how it feels and hard it slaps out of the box. Did you notice a difference? I'm about to do 60/70 soon, when I dump out the stock oil, I planned to check them out side by side to see if they look the same.

    • @WastedWages402
      @WastedWages402  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I saw that too, but I don't believe it. The 50wt even feels alot stiffer than stock I think
      It's better but I think I'm gonna do 80 rear 60 front
      Also *try hotglue, or siliconeing on a tiny bit of foam where the body sits on shock towers
      That got rid of a huge amount of what I thought was chassis slap

      @@WastedWages402 that's a good call on the shock towers, I've only had mine for like 2 weeks, a few small jump sessions and I can already see the marks from rear shock towers pushing through the body...

      @@combofriend4461 just today I hot glued on some tiny bits of foam (that came in the lipo batteries box)
      And it sits nice and tight now

      @@WastedWages402 Ok so I just did my fronts to 60 and poured out some of the 60 next to stock to do a visual comparison. It's obvious right away that the stock is thinner. I just tested against some 40 too and still noticeably thinner. I know there's no 'standard' between companies (I'm using Losi) but I gotta imagine it's still using stock 30wt from v1

    • @WastedWages402
      @WastedWages402  ปีที่แล้ว

      Canadian, that was a damn good guess man lol.
      I went up to 80WT in the rear 70WT up front 1.725 ( Rear ) springs up front, and all shocks mounted on outer holes.
      Ive got 10 turns of preload up front and 6 on the back , it still slaps hard but it handles so much better

  • @valiant7357
    @valiant7357 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you not want a bit of shock rebound.? I know the Maxx is rearend heavy maybe rebound would help.

    • @WastedWages402
      @WastedWages402  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah absolutely still need a little bit of rebound, ideally just a little less in the rear than up front.
      But the shocks in the maxx are... uncooperative? Lol they get way to "springy" on the rebound and kick the back end around.
      I might try different shock pistons or sledge shocks soon.

      I've ended up moving lower shock mounts to the outer hole, 80wt all round and barely any preload
      Sits low but corners better, I was getting really irratated with it flipping every 6 feet lol

    What oil should I use for the hpi savage xs flux 1/12

    • @WastedWages402
      @WastedWages402  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't know what those shocks are like,
      But if it's slapping the ground, and feels kind of bouncy
      Go to something thicker like 60wt-100wt
      If it's really slow shock travel and stiff , and you don't like it,
      you could go to a lighter oil like a 40wt

    • @WastedWages402
      @WastedWages402  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Honestly I'd buy like 3 different weights and try them out, when you find one you like stick with that one
      Now I like 80wt rear 60wt front in my truck, slower rebound in the back so it doesn't kick so bad on jumps
