    Can I use car motor oil or transmission fluid? Somehow my shock cap unscrewed its self and it bleed out all the fluid and it's all I have my nearest hobby shop is 35 minutes away and I cant drive yet.

    • @Rcstreetshop
      @Rcstreetshop  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can, but it is a question how your shocks are going to perform. You also have o-rings in these shocks, if your transmission oil is petrol based then it will damage o-rings.

    • @Rcstreetshop
      @Rcstreetshop  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is to set your re-bound.

  • @InTheSh8
    @InTheSh8 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I understood all steps, tried it here with sunflower oil on old shocks (just to practice). The step where you push the shaft back in and than screw the cap on: Why?! What can go wrong if you leave the shaft/piston completely stick out while you screw the cap on? Too much rebound then? Too much inside pressure? Risk of leakage?

    • @Rcstreetshop
      @Rcstreetshop  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This was to set the rebound. In our case full rebound for off road use. Leaving shaft in other place will change the way your suspension work/react etc

      Depends on how you play and in what conditions. Ideally you want to check rebound every race / weekend before you go out and play.

      Wow i replaced stock with big bore on my traxxas rustler vxl and i had no idea i needed to check it that often. I run it hard too. Replaced the stock shocks last summer, didnt run in winter, have run a few times since sitting and havent maintenanced shocks once yet 🤯 hope they're still good! Thanks for vid and feedback/questions. Very helpful all around!

    what if i dont wait 10min and just fill and run what then?

      @Rcstreetshop  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nothing bad is going to happen. If you have air in suspension, then it doesn't work the way it supposed to and thats it.
