Thanks Jonah! Even though it's the shortest race of the season it's like they still manage to pack all of the excitement of a normal race into 100 mins!
Flying Lizard Motorsports is not racing a Porsche now. I'm noticing a lot the former Porsche teams going to other manufacturers. Has Porsche dropped the support of the GT3 cars in favorite for the GTP/LMDh cars?
This isn't them leaving Porsche because of their LMDh, they have been running loads of different manufacturers for the last 10 years mainly Audis. They ran Audis at Daytona in 2014-2016, ran a Ferrari in thier latest Le Mans appearance in 2014. They have run Audis, Bentley and Lambos in SRO America. Also with other teams leaving Porsche like Proton and Pfaff that is less Porsche focusing on their LMDh but more so their are more manufacturers wanting to run their factory teams through them like McLaren didn't have a GTD Pro team before this year and Ford weren't even in GT3. And Porsche would focus more on their GT3 customers than LMDh, that's where Porsche makes their money racing through customers buying their cars and GT3 is the most popular class in racing, they would keep it a high priority no matter what else is going on in racing.
Max made some great points and I also want to point out that it was difficult to get your hands on a new Porsche GT3, they halted manufacturing at one point last year due to parts shortages
Yeah, the part shortages did hit hard, and more so on some manufacturers. I forgot about the Audi they ran for a year or two in IMSA. I just remember the red and silver Porsche for many years with the huge dragon looking logo.
There really aren't many Porsche in top series other than SRO Asia and Australia now. Only 2 or 3 in IMSA and SRO America combined. WEC, ELMS and SRO Europe have a few more than USA. It used to be, if you weren't a works team, you were running a Porsche in GT.

Acura/Lexus wins. The worst possible outcome.
IMSA f****ing up Porsche while giving Cadillac and Acura an extra push with their rubbish BoP system. What else is new??? 🤦🏼♂️
