    I have those same bead locks on my rock Rey I just got a 8 mm socket and ground it down to fit in the rim 👍🏻

      Nice! I ended up using a smaller wheel hub to get more thread exposed, but I want a better solution eventually

    I put some ssd beadlocks on my rock rey. It works just fine.

    How has the truck held up? The bnd version is on sale for 249 right now! Think it's a durable truck worth that money? Thanks!!!

      Yes it is, I still love this truck as a light basher. Its fast and fun for a Rock Racer

    I have been looking for a car to both bash and tow a small rc walmart glider with. I was looking closely at the 1/10 Baja Rey and Rock Rey because of their roll cage and open rear. I'm thinking of either reinforcing parts of the roll cage to attatch the tow line to, or to mount it straight to the aluminum bottom. Do you think that would work, and which of the two would you recomend? Thanks🙂

      The Losi is a bit harder to work on and modify for your needs. It is a fun light basher, but I would recommend the Axial Bomber for towing stuff. You would have more access to parts and be able to play with different motors, gear ratios, tires, and accessories. In my opinion the losi comes with more power and is a better jumper. Just harder to work on.

      Working In Tech Thanks for the advice, I'll save up for that one as a second car. I'm planning on starting with something cheap lile the ECX Torment 1/18 first

      I really like the Horizon Hobby brand. I almost mentioned the Traxxas Slash, as its a good solid body to work with. Have Fun!

      @@WorkingInTech I looked at the Bomber, and decided that I'd go with something else due to the high price, and only being Brushed. Might a Carpa kit with a brushless power system, A Senton, Redcat Blackout, Losi 22s 1/10, or something similar like the Slash 4x4 work as well?

    I have an Axial Wraith (not that new 1.9 piece of garbage) the 2.2 Axial Wraith and was going to get a Yeti and came across the Rock Rey and now I'm torn on which one to get.. Any suggestions?

    • @WorkingInTech
      @WorkingInTech  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also had to choose between the two. My biggest reasons for buying the Losi where:
      * Already had an Axial product and I wanted to try out another brand.
      * Losi 40+MPH Axial 30+MPH stock.
      * Rock Rey is not easy to work on, but I wanted something different, and challenging.
      * Losi came with a Spektrum receiver, which I happen to use more.
      IMO Axial RCs are made to be upgraded, Losi RCs are made to be repaired.

      Definitely pick up that front bumper from T-Bone racing. Its cheap and easy. Its the Rock Rey's biggest weakness.

    You've had this truck for about 10 months now or so, how's it holding up? Also I've got to include, my brother has the same vehicle in yellow and the AVC impressed him. Lol

    • @WorkingInTech
      @WorkingInTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I love this truck. Its a good fast dirt runner, and its awesome for some mild bashing as well. On a long straight away the AVC is so helpfull

      @@WorkingInTech I took mine for thre first run today and I couldn't believe just how easy it rolls over. I mean like you could breath on it while turning and it rolls. Also it's my first solid axle truck and I was a little taken aback how much torque steer there is when hitting the throttle. I'm kinda on the fence about it at the moment.

    • @WorkingInTech
      @WorkingInTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cwatson42785 Yes it does roll when turning at high speed, and you will have some similar issues with other rock racers like the axial yeti. You can counter that by lowering the center of gravity a bit and getting some tires that don't have too much traction in them. Hope you end up having some fun with it. Its still one of my favorites for light bashing.

    • @cwatson42785
      @cwatson42785 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WorkingInTech Yeah I'm gonna stick with it for a while. I think worse case I'll swap tires and maybe unlock the rear diff. Another thing I'm not to fond of is how long it takes to get the cage off. I like to keep my rc's clean so that might be rather difficult with this one. Do you have any recommendation for a set of wheels and tires rtr without having to buy them separate? Thanks for the advice!

    Is their any controller I can hook up that doesn't have the little tire or " wheel " on the side . one you fly drones with ?????? Rock rey

    • @WorkingInTech
      @WorkingInTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You want a stick controller for surface vehicles. Not easy to find these days. Maybe the new Futaba 4GRS Transmitter is what your looking for, however its expensive.

    How were those new tires

    • @WorkingInTech
      @WorkingInTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The tires are stable with almost too much grip, causing even more rollovers than before (Great for mud). I want to change it up with some tires that have a bit less tread, and slide a bit more.

    Is this beast reliable??

    • @WorkingInTech
      @WorkingInTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is reliable, fun to drive. Its biggest complaint is that it flips over and lands upside down a lot. Which it does. I have a new video coming out sometime. I made a new body, put in some better steering parts, and have been driving it a lot the last few weeks.

    Losi or bomber ?

    • @WorkingInTech
      @WorkingInTech  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Losi! I Think the Losi is a better performer. Yes its harder to work on, and common parts don't fit, but its performance makes you love it. Do get the bomber if you want to make "heavy "mods to looks and electronics. Its made to be upgraded, and will need upgrades to match the Losi on the track.
