I love Charles Darwin! He opened the eyes of future Biologists to how our world works. Even though he struggled a lot with his beliefs, he was a good person and a great scientist.
I simply love this channel. More videos please Brady !!!
When evidence contradicts the belief.....you disregard the belief and believe in the evidence.
Scientists are brave folk indeed.
Why isn't CARL SAGAN have a my favourite scientist, he is EVERYONE'S favourite.
Whoever he is, he seems very very amazed :P
I like how one of the marks of "being a nice man" is "playing music to worms"
Awesome start to my morning. Thanks Brady! Sharing this with all my atheist and evolutionary groups on facebook. Here's hoping it gets you some new subs!
Great video, thank you.
Science is not the only method of obtaining logical truths. There are many things that the mechanism of finding imperial data, cannot be used in, Yet we are very sensible in believing in them. e.g. trust, love, joy, friendship, concept of past etc..
2:21 - Best. Drawing. Of Charles Darwin. Ever.
Great vid ;)
yes
I understood. your telling me that the limit of natural selection is species, when in fact it natural selection goes further, it divided us into different kingdoms.
@Shuffle2dMax very nice to hear!
Awesome, love the illustrations. :)
He didn't want to study theology, he HAD to.
It's true that Darwin was not the first to suggest one type of animal is descended from another type of animals; in fact Greek, Roman and Chinese philosophers had similar ideas about the changing of species centuries before Ibn Khaldun. Evolution was not a new idea by Darwin's time, Darwin's great accomplishment was the theory of natural selection and formulating a scientific argument for his theory.
Eagerly awaiting a biologist who has Andreas Vesalius as his/her favorite!
And a physicist for Nikola Tesla.
wow thought you'd forgotten bout this series
Brady's drawings are so cute
@Cethin Hellz yeah!
@VictorAndScience good question... maybe someone will choose him soon!?
@MultiZever When did that happen? I looked him up on wikipedia and found nothing of regretting his theory. If he did maybe he was just "being on the safe side" because he was afraid of going to hell.
I don't know why most people ignore the fact that Ibn Khaldun discovered evolution many hundred years before Darwin.
I know we didn't start from apes, I didn't say we did. I just didn't want you to reply with a huge essay if you end up explaining every step. I'm somewhat pleased with this response. However I do question your notion that 'The vast majority of mutations are always bad.' Not all mutations are bad, like better eye site. 'Natural selection is not even evolution,' - may I just say that natural selection causes evolution. I suggest you watch a video from QualiaSoup, it further elaborates.
NEWTON!!!
You're welcome!
@TomMarAlem1987 Because us humans are fucking badasses.
@FavScientist
My fav Newton. Don't want to go in debate regarding controversy surrounding Calculus or his over powering nature or (as some claim) his black magic....
what Newton did (in the volumes of Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica) is nonpareil, to question and answer everything happening around you, it takes lot more than a great mind.
Newton, scientist among scientists.
I think a video about Nikola Tesla would be awesome :)
A scientist is a person who is studying or has expert knowledge of one or more of the natural or physical sciences. Could Tesla not fit that description about the nature and use of electricity?
someone should do Erwin Schrödinger! with the famous cat included :)
Any love for Paul Dirac?
never heard of the part where darwin got filled with regret and turned to creationism before he died?
Charles Darwin is just a theory!!
;P
@MarkArandjus That's like saying that Newton was just a theory!
Brady, do your fellow popularizer of science Carl Sagan!
Because he was an engineer and an inventor?
Is this Brady's work ????
@Duplooytim Yes natural selection is evolution. There are many ways in which evolution can happen with mutations, genetic drift etc. a change in the organisms is evolution. Who told you that it's not evolution?
Nope, its a typical response to people who make false claims because they are in fact, butthurt.
Why Newton is still not anyone's favorite!? :(
I'd answer you back on that but lightsights already did.
oooo, wish they wouldn't put the camera up so close
Darwin reminds me of Oolon.
@Duplooytim Great assumption taken our of context. Maybe you should watch the video again.
Basically you are forcing people into liking Tesla, right?
@TomMarAlem1987 are you for real?
@VictorAndScience because he's Neil Degrasse Tyson's favorite :)
Why not?
if we go from the biblical acount where after the flood there were 8 people and, we take a more reasonable growth rate of about 0.5% per annum.... (8*1.005^4000) Approx 3.69 billion. The industrial revolution has increased the growth rate(obviosly). Thus making up the extra 3.3 billion
If we used the same growth rate on the 50000 years... then (2*1.005^50000) Thats a very large number and would have taken us way past 25 billion people, and should mean there should be trillions of human fossils.
@MultiZever he didn't
@TomMarAlem1987 CAPS LOCK MAY BE CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL BUT YOU STILL HAVE TO STEER!
Are you talking to me?
If we say we have been around for 50,000 years + (and lets say we start with 2 people at a very minute growth rate of about 0.0005% per annum)
Lets do some maths
2*(1.0005^50000) = 143 Billion people should be alive today. (for a very minute growth rate and disregarding industrial revolution.) Thus meaning for a more rational growth rate, We should have trillions and trillions of people alive today. (+ evolutionist believe up to 100,000-200,000 years) This is simply not the case!
Really? How so?
I don't think he's getting mixed up with Einstien. By reading his further comments it looks like he's another person brainwashed by creationism.
I was unnable to access the link you gave me.
Yes but the planet is big enough to sustain life for more than about 25 billion people(atleast without competing for food/water). Therefore it should not have been an issue. Up until 25-30 billion people. Why then are we only at 7 billion when mathmatically it should be alot higher! I am going with the facts. Maths shows that humans werent here for more than 10,000 years.
Where is TESLA!!
I don't think you understand the gravity of the situation.............
you clearly didnt understand anything I said!
Can I just say, that the rate of growth is expotential. We are decendants of single celled oraganisms. People die, so the figure goes down. There are too many variables you didn't include in your calculations. Please reply back explaining how evololved from Apes to Homo Sapiens, just so I can see your understanding of the theory of evolution. Diluting your comments with numbers doesn't always work.
To me
1 Newton
2 Einstein
lolteeth
"Please reply back explaining how evololved from Apes to Homo Sapiens". 1) evolution doesnt start with apes. 2) just because there is about 98% DNA symilarities in humans and chimps, doesnt mean we evolved from apes.3) according to evolutionist, we supposedly evolved from apes through natural selection and beneficial mutations. 4) when the vast majority of mutations are always bad, and so called "beneficial ones", that we know of, had side effects or didnt bring alteration in genetic information
hahahahaahh cut back on the tea bro.
Thats why I despise religion. I follow Jesus and have a personal relationship with him because he's still alive today... But anyone that kills "in the name of God" are clearly deluded, totally agree... Jesus is the perfect example of how to live life. Turn the other cheeck love your nabour as yourself etc... so if everyone acted like him there will be peace on earth. But sadly everyone is selfish!
So he was on the ship to keep the captain sane? That task he failed. The captain commited suicide after Darwins book was so successfull ^^
@VictorAndScience
Because he was wrong about too many things.
No I am saying it because it is true and so have all those other people. When Darwin came up with his theory of evolution, the scientific community agreed, and all but the most stubborn scientists today agree with it. Almost every scientist is falling for a huge lie? What makes you think you're right and scientists are wrong? You don't belong here.
Nicola Tesla ..all the way ^^
EXPLAINING how caplock won't help this creationist fly his pseudo-scientific drivel. He posted on 26 minutes ago - I'm getting close to intercept! He has been polluting Darwin vids with his tripe all day.
LOL thats what everyone says when they know they are wrong!... I've been called so many names. But I stand for truth. You are falling for one of the biggest lies in history!
Not a scientist.
