Great video, I use a very similar lift. Just a suggestion, the scooter hold down is offset slightly to the right. If the scooter instead enters the lift from the left, then the hold down would be more centered on the scooter floorboard.
Thanks for the video. I'm 4 yrs out from a disabling surgery on my back and have 2 bad knees. I'm a couple of months away from another back surgery. I've resided to the fact I'm permanently disabled (happened at 37) and I need a scooter to get around stores. I'm getting a used model like you installed and it helped me understand the mechanics of it. Thanks!
Really great video. Have you ever tried, or heard of anyone who has tried, to plug the lift into a trailer (brake/lights) plug either a 4-way or 7-way plug? Seems to much easier than wiring underneath the vehicle to the battery. If so please include any links to that info thank you.
Yes, I run it off my clearance lights on my trailer plug on the pick up and motorhome. But we did run the full wire from battery on the wife's car....the primary vehicle.
Thanks for your video. I have one of these lift. Yesterday after I unloaded my scooter I pressed the button to send up, started going up but it did not fold close. Still the thing that comes down to hold the scooter still coming down without the scooter on the platform. How do you adjust it? thanks.
I believe so. That's all Bruno provides for the install. P clips would be better but I also route the wiring where it is mainly held by existing factory clips then finish it up with zip ties.
We have a Harman Lift on the back of our van. We purchased the lift used and of course we were assured it was working properly. We drove 500 miles, one way to purchase it. After we paid a trailer company to install it on our car and wire it, we found it mostly operates correctly but the plunger does not go down onto his Pride scooter. Is there anything we could do to make the plunger operate? We have a friend with mild skills. We would greatly appreciate any help at all.
Great Video. I now have the confidence to go forward. I just purchased a used ASL-250 to install on my Mothers vehicle (2004 Lexus RX 330) and have been able to secure the Installation Instructions but they do not include the Height Chart you mentioned. Where can I find this resource?
Sorry but I am not in that line of work anymore and I dont ha e access to that chart. You should be able to get it on the manufacturer's website or call their customer service. Thanks for the positive comment. I'm glad I could help.
I own a camper I pull. How can one person easily take the lift on and off the hitch receiver so I can hook up my camper and then reinstall when I am done towing ? I not paying a dealer to come to my home and do this every time we tow. Thank You
At 6.32 you demo the swing away lever. Is there any type of adjustment on this part to make it easier to operate? I have one that I bought used and its VERY tight to the point its almost unuseable. Thanks!!
@@TheGasTap Thank You. There is some adjustment on the piece that the swing arm goes up to. My friend and I worked on it a little today and its better but not easy to operate. Is there somewhere I could send a couple of pictures for you to take a look please?
"Ran the hot wire parrell to the fuel line" is that the place it should be in the event of an accident?? A lawyer would love to have this video in the event of a vehicle fire i would guess??

Yes sir but I didn't want the costumer to enter from the traffic side of the vehicle if they were to park on a 1 way street or parallel park.

Good job cuz! Nice informative video. The lift looks like pretty well build equipment.
Thanks. Bruno is top notch stuff.
+Abom79 Thanks for your videos too dude, give Stella a scratch behind the ears for me.
Alex, thanks for the video. I've never seen how that installation was done.
Alex you are getting better at this. Keep it up.
+Gary Stevens Thanks for the support!
Good install video...You do a Great job when you work on stuff !!!
that's my work shop. I'm the only tech and I've been there 1 year.

I would think the wiring for trailer harness would be insufficient for operating a system like this.

It’s been 8 years since I’ve worked on one. I can’t remember. I apologize.
good job Alex !
+Patrick Z thanks for the support. im trying hard to get more comfortable with the videoing!
Thanks for the videos Alex, are the zip ties long lived enough to be a permanent method of retaining the wiring under the vehicle?

That is operated mechanically, there may be a cam or arm broken. are you able to email me pictures of the unit?
@@TheGasTap i will take a picture and send it tomorrow. Thank you so much.

Get a wooden moving dolly from harbor freight. Lower the lift down onto the dolly. Unhook the carrier from the vehicle and roll it away.
@@TheGasTap Thank you
Nice shop, is it yours? Or the job site? Thumbs up
Can you tell me what hole should be used for a 21.5" high hitch?
+Larry Kehoe sorry Larry, I left that job and don't have the manual anymore.
Alex, so where can I get the wiring? Going to move my lift to a different car. Thanks for a great video.

May just be a rusted hinge on your swing arm.
@@TheGasTap No, Its a 2018 model and been kept inside.
The only adjustment is a bolt that sets the unit plumb so it doesn’t bind

Sure. Tuffram25@yahoo.com
i think if you would have turned the scooter around it would have fit
Alex could the hold down be flipped to the other side to give clearance?
The swing away? It only goes the one way.
No the part the you call the hold down with the pad that clamps down onto the scooter floor pan
Oh. No that comes fully attached and is not able to be moved.
Donde podría conseguirlo en España o si sólo envían donde podría ponerme en contacto
How much does the lift weigh?
I'm not sure. I'd refer you to the Bruno Website
"Ran the hot wire parrell to the fuel line" is that the place it should be in the event of an accident?? A lawyer would love to have this video in the event of a vehicle fire i would guess??
Oh yeah
The scooter goes on the opposite way then there is plenty of room for the arm
The scooter is driven on from the curb side of the vehicle to keep the owner out of traffic when parallel parking.
