I'm kinda scared by that one. Imagine you pissed off the Hulk and instead of turning you into Heinz ketchup with his fists or smashing you in the ground, he just wants to see you in court.
Fun fact, the Hulk was originally meant to still be perfectly smart, just had a hard time communicating. He wasn't prone to impulsive violence or anything like that, he was just generally stereotyped as the big strong scary guy. He was just dumbed down over time due to the exact stereotype he was originally a statement on. Kinda the same effect as homer simpson going from typical dad to d'oh dolt.

I mean, in like his second or third issue he explicitly states he wants to "conquer the human world." He's got a degree of intelligence, sure, but still very much prone to impulsive violence until Bruce gets a better handle on things.

I believe it is what TV Tropes calls "Flanderisation" Originally, The Hulk was essentially Mr. Hyde to Bruce Banner's Dr. Jeckyl. But like you said, due to him being a comic book character and you sell to the peanut gallery where all the kids are (since, you know, it's a comic book), it wasn't any surprise that Hulk became Flanderised pretty quickly. It's kinda like how Giallos from the late 60's through the late 70's were essentially visually stylised murder mysteries (Sherlock Holmes with flair), which was even boiled down to it's further essence into the Slasher genre, which had a basic mystery enough to setup the unique kills and get to the nitty gritty.

I found a jetpack in a post apocalyptic survival video game that recharged after each jump, and it saved me literal tons of in-game fuel as opposed to trying to drive all over the map to farm for resources. This comment seems far more sensible and less absurd to me after that experience. XD
My head canon says this should have been the best intro ever for a She-Hulk TV series. Have Hulk as a variant in another dimension actually volunteering in the Avengers, they turning down the offer, and Bruce ends up suing them with his cousin Jennifer representing him in court. Panic ensues at the hearing day with their rogue gallery attacking, fill from there.

Not to far from the truth, Hulk generally an actually good person who just tiered of people attacking him. Most of his friends like spider man kinda figured this out. He generally a really nice, smart, kind hearted person who just wants to be treated like a human being that he is. Which is why when people like avengers say "let us help you, let us fix you" is pretty much saying "we rather have Bruce so let us murder you so we can have him". I mean yeah I would run like all hell if that happened to me.

More common than you'd think. I had a cousin with one that kept getting rejected for jobs for being "Over qualified." The only jobs she wanted to do that she was "qualified" for were teaching (she wasn't interested), directors jobs (not enough experience), or waiting for a specific position to open up at one of about 4 companies. Took her 18 months to find a job.
Fun fact: If for some reason you can't sign a document, IE being illiterate or not having the necessary limbs to write, you can sign off via alternative means, such as a handprint or with a witness signing for you (like She-Hulk). But then again, this Hulk most likely knows about this, but decided to sue them with a fair cause as a power move.
Actually not only is the Hulk able to read and write, he is actually incredibly proficient at doing so. Not only was he able to put together an excellent doctoral thesis on Nuclear Physics in order to garner his PhD but his ability to correctly cite and format to APA standards has lended him the nickname "The Credible Hulk". You don't want to make him angry, because he will back up his arguments with cites, sources and peer-reviewed studies.

Hulk was only an Avenger for two issues and then dipped, so for almost 50 years he actually *wasn't* an Avenger. 4. Hulk and Namor the Sub-Mariner once teamed up to defeat the Avengers in revenge and they actually *won* . EDIT: Correction, Hulk and Namor *almost* won. Frankly, I thought it was an incredibly one-sided battle in their favor with the Avengers really getting their asses kicked, but Hulk randomly turned back into Banner and Namor just happened to be out of water for too long, apparently.

@@FoereaperGaming Nah...I studied medicine before I flunked and you will ruin your writing while taking notes. They want you to write down A LOT and you start taking shortcuts. Eventually your writing degrades into scribbles that you can somehow read and that other medical personnel can also read. By the time you're finished you don't care any-more about how it looks, you care about efficiency. Doctors can write quite well, but it takes a lot more time and they just hate doing it because they've spent 10 years writing down stuff at haste. It's a hard to loose habit.

Reminds me of, in Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes when Tony is scanning some radiation and Hulk, just sitting at the table, says it’s a form of cosmic radiation. It completely catches Tony off guard- “uhh, yeah, it looks like it is. How’d you know?” I find underestimating Hulk to be hilarious.
Banner probably only needed a glimpse of it before talking Hulk's ear off about the significance, and Hulk shared the info just so he didn't have to sit through the same lecture twice :P
Probably because Hulk isn't known for lying. That's something cunning/panicking people do, and Hulk is neither. Not that he never lied at all, but it is so rare you pretty much have to google occasions, and I only found one (technically 2 since they are just a few panels apart). He's the incredibly credible Hulk.

The best thing about this is that this IS true to the comics. Initially, the avengers were pretty...not friendly with Hulk. In fact, in the second issue, Hulk left the team. Nope, he didn't come back in the next issue. Not in the next decade. He wasn't a recurring member again until decades later. happy ending?
I love how he says cave man like sentences and follows it up with intelligent information, like when he said: "Hulk no need to fly, hulk jump high in the air" Followed by "More cost effective than jet fuel" Really catches you off guard
It's funny because propositionally, the way hulk talks gets the message across just as well as including the verb "do", which all it does is acquire the present tense markings that aren't really needed to get the message across. "Hulk does not need a hammer" portrays the same information as "hulk no need hammer".

In comics, this is actually 100% true, hulk is actually one of if not the most op character in the comics, if he went all out he can easily fight superman to a stand still. It is funny how, at least in some itterations depending on the writer, the Hulk really does make the rest of the team look pointless. Reminds me of early itterations of the current Guardians of the Galaxy roster before they nerfed Drax into the ground. He was a near Hulk level entity specifically designed to beat Thanos, made the rest of the team look powerless by comparison.
Yeah it's kinda the problem with the Hulk. He'll solve every problem the same way so writers kinda don't know how to make stories interesting. So the best stories he has are basically exploring the psichological side of banner and hulk, and also world war hulk were he solves everything by force hahaha

Or if the story is just off the walls fun and actions. I think some comics problem is how since they're always so many writers the characters are basically OP but lack consistency which makes it harder to get invested

Hulk getting dumbed down reminds me of what happened to Shadow the Hedgehog. A completely tame, respectable and reserved individual, who was a statement on not judging by one’s cover, who was dumbed down into the edgelord stereotype he was subverting. I have a very sad spot for whenever this happens to a character.

Apparently, one core theme that Stan Lee wanted to bring for the Hulk was miscommunication. The Hulk is intelligent in his earliest appearances of the 1960s. However, due to his appearance and strength, people immediately assumed he was simply destructive and violent and attacked him. It was basically predating the X-Men and its themes on racism and prejudice by a whole year.

And with the MCU being so popular, superheroes not knowing each other's secret identities BACK THEN is almost irrelevant as most people from the newer generations wouldn't know that and in the movies they do know their secret identities and refer to them as their human names all the time.
This is what Professor Hulk in the MCU should have been- a proper fusion of Hulk's temper and Banner's intelligence, which would throw everyone off-balance when he maintains conversations

I think the simplicity of only having still images and text with voice acting and some sound effects is what makes these videos so effective. It allows you to just fully focus on the writing and punch lines

Fun fact, the Hulk was originally meant to still be perfectly smart, just had a hard time communicating. He wasn't prone to impulsive violence or anything like that, he was just generally stereotyped as the big strong scary guy. Originally, The Hulk was essentially Mr. Hyde to Bruce Banner's Dr. Jeckyl. But like you said, due to him being a comic book character and you sell to the peanut gallery where all the kids are (since, you know, it's a comic book), it wasn't any surprise that Hulk became Flanderised pretty quickly.
It's kinda like how Giallos from the late 60's through the late 70's were essentially visually stylised murder mysteries (Sherlock Holmes with flair), which was even boiled down to it's further essence into the Slasher genre, which had a basic mystery enough to setup the unique kills and get to the nitty gritty.

My head canon says this should have been the best intro ever for a She-Hulk TV series. @@FoereaperGaming Nah...I studied medicine before I flunked and you will ruin your writing while taking notes. They want you to write down A LOT and you start taking shortcuts. Eventually your writing degrades into scribbles that you can somehow read and that other medical personnel can also read. By the time you're finished you don't care any-more about how it looks, you care about efficiency. Doctors can write quite well, but it takes a lot more time and they just hate doing it because they've spent 10 years writing down stuff at haste. It's a hard to loose habit.

Honestly, Hulk’s only weaknesses are his lack of self-control and collateral damage. But if it’s collateral damage or the end of the world… I don’t really see the downsides.

The best part is imagining Hulk dressed up in a formal suit a few sizes too small for him sitting in a tiny chair barely able to hold up his weight next to his very nervous lawyer in the courtroom while very articulately explaining why he's been discriminated against to the judge lmao

In comics, this is actually 100% true, hulk is actually one of if not the most op character in the comics, if he went all out he can easily fight superman to a stand still. He even proved this by legit beating the shit out of every hero, not a hero, EVERY HERO!!! Hulk is scary and deserves our respect.

It is funny how, at least in some itterations depending on the writer, the Hulk really does make the rest of the team look pointless. Reminds me of early itterations of the current Guardians of the Galaxy roster before they nerfed Drax into the ground. He was a near Hulk level entity specifically designed to beat Thanos, made the rest of the team look powerless by comparison.
Yeah it's kinda the problem with the Hulk. He'll solve every problem the same way so writers kinda don't know how to make stories interesting. So the best stories he has are basically exploring the psichological side of banner and hulk, and also world war hulk were he solves everything by force hahaha

Or if the story is just off the walls fun and actions. I think some comics problem is how since they're always so many writers the characters are basically OP but lack consistency which makes it harder to get invested

However, due to his appearance and strength, people immediately assumed he was simply destructive and violent and attacked him. It allows you to just fully focus on the writing and punch lines
No need for an executive to decide what's in the script since no need to do animation.
