- FMS/Roc Hobby have pulled out all the stops on their latest, large scale, hard-body RC, the Mashigan! It looks a lot like a truck I've seen before but I can't put my finger on which one it is. Great transformation! The details are once again out of this world on this truck. FMS does some interesting stuff in this industry.

This truck looks absolutely amazing on the trail! And those wheels and tires help quite a lot too.
I agree...as a former AMC/Chrysler employee of that era, this is a really legit looking rig. I also like the way the suspension is flexing and bouncing. Sure, it's not leaf spring, but the ride of this compared to the (vehicle that shall not be named for licencing purposes) is not that far off. Now, as a former AMC alumni, it's no CJ, but then we said that back then about these too. bawwwhaahaaa....
Dear Matt, I too owned a YJ ('93). It too was a Sahara Edition. Although the paint was the forest/royal green. Held onto that truck for 30 years until I sold it to my IT guy from work. Good and Bad of this. Truck is still in fantastic condition, But it's like seeing your Ex make out with your friend. Sure you're happy for them but it still stings a little. Love All you do for us. Great video Matt! Your transformation turned an already good looking truck into amazing scale model! I would have loved to have seen it side-by-side with a Traxxas TRX 4 Bronco or some such to get an idea of its actual size.
Finally, RocHobby has released it in 1/10 scale. I like that it looks like a YJ jeep
Chuck Mashigan was the designer of the YJ Jeep therefore the name ( its also not a licenced body 🙃)
Great looking trail truck, wish it was 1/6 scale to match the willys jeep and also my own 1/6 scale collection off rc's.

I own the Jeep in the thumbnail, the original, 1990 YJ. The name of the color is “khaki metallic”. The color code is PJ5. You have to be careful ordering PJ5 though, because it’s a code for two different colors. But I must say, you did a fantastic job of matching the paint. I know it’s not exact, but it’s damn close. The roll bar covers are tan, but so is the dash, so.. It still looks good.

Looks like a 91 jeep renegade, I have one in red and i was stoked when I saw this!! The fenders on the front is what gave it away for me.

My step-dad in the service had a YJ, he loved that thing so much but every month something needed repaired, doesn't have it anymore, retired a while ago, but I'd love to buy him this for Christmas I know he'd love it, just wish it wasn't sold out. Awesome review!!

What a transformation! Beautiful. I miss my YJ. 4 banger on 35’s with 5.12 gears. 3rd and 4th were the only gears that you needed

The video is great Matt. The fog makes it awesome. Your paint and rendition is spot on. The leaf spring would be a great final touch. You would lose a little ground clearance since the original was a leaf under the axle, but it would be great to see one like that. Thanks for your review.
Great looking build, TONS of potential! I see this being the base for plenty of projects! I would have liked to see it closer to1/10 scale, though, if only to be able to use that body on other chassis'. Thanks for the review and another great running video 👍

Great review and running video Matt. Love your personal touch on it. For a beautiful scale truck at that price point, this is a home run! Let's hope another scale 4wd company I have a love /hate relationship with takes notice. Any other competitor would have charged us twice the price.
As for the electronics/transmission, almost all of us start upgrading RTR's no matter who they are from. So this is definitely a win. Can't wait to see what they come out with next. Hopefully that FJ45 in this "scale".

Hey Matt, I'm sure you know why they call this truck a Mashigan by now but If you don't it's because the designers name was Chuck Mashigan, so it's named that for a good reason... fun fact.
