    Beautiful.
I said the badges were too big for the rear... but the comments said... oohhhhh noooo they are not... well, Im glad you also mentioned it as you are a more credible 'Scale Nerd' than me, so thanks for backing me up 😇

A simple look at the back of any real one would silence the critics! You were right!

The earlier FJ40 had the upper hatch with the small split doors below. Newer ones had the full split rear doors and upgraded rear lights. This FMS missed a few things, the windshield "catches" on the hood are missing, the antenna is in the foot vent, and the rear side marker lights should be red. I had a brand new FJ40 in 1978... absolutely loved it!

  • @smashtj666

    I did a mazda rz7 body on my first custom drift body....back fire...exposed inner cooler..roll bars..wing..all that....
When you go to superg and look at their body selection...it's insane at the possibility and potential for customizations....unlimited...

Love that you are enjoying the FJ. You will love it on leaf springs. Single leaf front and main and long in the rear worked out great for me. The shocks don’t hold oil btw.

    • @j.r4985

Did you keep your shocks stock or upgrade them when you did the leaf kit? I’m debating on 65 or 70mm big bores to go along with

@@ateaserc nice, did you run into any long term problems with it? I’m debating if dropping some money on parts is worth it because it looks like FMS is discontinuing the FJ

    • @ateaserc
      @ateaserc 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

@ the transmission did fail under brushless power but otherwise ok. GCM does make a LRT2 conversion for the Mashigan but it should also fit the FJ.

Excellent. Especially like the bit about the new Landcruiser. The FJ from that era is my favourite too, as anyone who's been to my channel will tell you. Lots of nice details on the FMS to break off and leave as offerings to the trail gods. We need more of that.

I have waaaaaay tooo many Hot wheels and Matchbox cars. The FMS FJ-40 is awesome. Upgrades: RAW 500 servo, big bore shocks 65mm, Mytrickrc headlights, tail lights, 2 light bars and flood lights. New wheels, new receiver and tons of 3d printed 1/6 (1/7) scale accessories. Headlight bulb removal takes a lighter, a scraper, a drill for 5mm bulbs and bulb backing to screw them in.

I love the fms fj40. The 1 thing I was disappointed about was the holes in the roof when you remove the roof rack. Hopefully knight customs gets ahold of this and makes some inner fenders for this and other parts, lol.

Glad to see the window rubber painted on the FJ! Makes a huge difference. I put the leafs from my spare Jimny on mine. I like it much better. Just need to sort some shocks (sans springs). They will have to be fairly short... I also plan on printing some rubber bumpers for the bumpers (say bumper one more time...) 😁.

When you get to episode 69 you’ll have to be working on the sand scorcher and Capra for sure! And try not to do too many innuendos along with it…😂 and that Land Cruiser is pretty cool too! I’ve got an old proline bushwacker body (before they got the license if you don’t know, it’s pretty sweet!) on an scx10 i cobbled together, complete with a chassis from an scx10 that had been run over by a 1:1, i call it my salvage title truck! 😂😂

(1:54) ...Maybe the "not-so-strong" magnets are intentional to allow for the "sah-weet" body/s to "give" upon even light- impact, so the fragile components, like your resin-wing/spoiler, has a better chance of not getting broke or "totalled".
🤔 For a crawler, or trailtruck, I would definetly want/need stronger magnets, but of course ultimately this depends upon application, as we

The only or first thing I want to change on the FMS fj40 is to move the front axle forward just a little because it’s supposed to be. The only real one that has the axle where it is on the FMS model is the Icon fj and Toyota’s version looks better. Matchbox’s FJ40 does it right btw. I’d also want a little bit of a lift. Idk what I’d specifically need to get to make it happen much less whet it would cost tho.

I was trying to see what ch. 3 and 4 does. And how to make the tires turn out more

For more steering, turn up the dual rate. Check manual for which switch/knob it is. Ch 3 & 4 don’t do anything in this truck.

@@scalebuildersguild if they are open, can I hook lights to them? Or should I put them with the head lights connection?

@@sethzorzi Sure can, make sure your lights are designed to work with 6V and you should be fine.
