Those tires are injora you can buy them premounted on beadlocks and that's what I have on all my 1/10 scale stuff love them. They get softer the more ya run them
Yeah I actually bought a set years ago and they were horrible. The compound on the knockoff tires have changed a lot in the last year. These are actually pretty good I think!
They work well where I live and they get soft over time. We have dusty rocks and sandy soil that gets sun baked which makes it really slippery and loose dirt in the fields they hook up good on all of it. They are fair in the snow if you spray some WD-40 on
Very good looking scale rig! I'd be interested to see a build series on this one with you swapping out electronics (maybe one of the new HW Fusion Pro's and a legit servo), playing with gearing (seems like it would benefit from a smaller pinion gear), running some more scale tires (KM3's!), and fixing any stuff that breaks along the way. Would be cool to see if this rig could be made into a cheap class 1 or scale class 2 crawler.
The scalebuilders youtube guy did a nice visual upgrade on this thing worth checking out for more eye candy! Also other Rc guys have taken the trans apart , its looking not to promising for gear swapping because the gear layout and design. I think a 5 pole brushed might be a good swap. Also the better hobbywing speed control for silent motor without that whine.
this thing shares the trans from the 1/6 vehicles and unfortunatly u cant change the gearing which is to bad. i ended up putting in a 80turn rc4wd yes 80t and on 3s still has wheel speed but crawls much better with a hobbywing1080, ill be replacing that with the fusion se in a 1200kv when they are available though in both the jimney and this rig. the elc in both are craaaaaap. wish they sold a kit version of thier trucks to save some money as 99% of people trash the elc anyways
That's why I'm subscribed to your channel. Find the weaknesses and then fix it! A couple years ago I built a wild Orlandoo Hunter modified to the max and then SNAP! It sheared the hollow pins that hold the driveshafts together... So I used some solid metal sewing needles to replace the hollow pins. Hasn't broke since! That's the best way to RC!

Any word of when they will settle the issue with the jeep brand? And hopefully bring it back as a version 2 with the corrections and improvements needed but they become official!
awsome vid and info. thanx for posting this, i just picked one up as i owned a yj and luved that jeep. have u done any thing to the shocks? i find the springs wayyyy to stiff. they are a weird size spring of course....looking for some info on changing the springs out as to what other springs may fit if u have any info. thanx again for all your awsome vids

I feel bad for you, I hope it doesn't spoil your experience with it... Saying that, I do think your review was the toughest testing so far. I'm thankful for you doing that for us because a lot of channels baby their RCs & don't really show us all the potential issues. There's nothing worse than wanting a new rig, watching tons of reviews only to find out it's not as tough as it seemed.! Thank you for doing this for us... That's a nice looking truck, for sure, and some nice driving. The price is pretty nice too, compared to other hardbody RTRs, that often seem to handle worse than this ting. Too bad about the tailgate. The doors popping open doesn't come as a surprise. I have the Injora Jeep hardbody with the roll cage and tube doors on my SCX10 II, and the doors kept popping open all the time. One even broke off once, when I did the same as you, and just gave up on closing them all the time. Now they are glued in place with some superglue. 😅

Yeah the rear gate had no chance. It wouldn’t stay shut at all. The doors and hood held decent to start.
As always great scale looking rig. With some light customization this could be a killer rig. But if you're a jeep guy this is a great shelf queen.

I dunno 😕 about this, for me 325 is just kind of expensive for just a cool case 😉 😉 seems a little fragile so I guess why the case is so nice.

They actually have replacements for like $12 so I’m going to get a new one and put a magnet or something in place to help hold it shut hopefully!

Probably just glue a tiny magnet somewhere sort of hidden that’ll help hold them. They just need a tiny bit of help lol
