Well they make like 8k on the lowest specced version of the model 3. I think they could easily make a smaller car with a smaller battery that costs way less. You make a hatchback that is 1000lbs less than a model y then you won't need as large of a battery for it. Also because it's a smaller vehicle means less material needed. I'm sure they'll even spec it with some cloth seats kinda like a polestar.

If we thought this way then we wouldn’t buy anything from any company. A lot of big corporations and brands are owned by CEOs that have unpopular opinions. Point is, at the end of the day if the product is good enough, who cares what the he thinks. Plus Elon only owns 20.5% of Tesla, the rest being hedge fund and investors.
