Great for summer horror. Can’t believe I still haven’t seen Poltergeist 😳 adding it to the top of my watchlist. I’ve never heard of The Lost Boys but that also sounds like my perfect cup of tea! I love the Innocents!!!! Me and my mom watch it together every year its one of our all time faves. The story its based on is also really good I read it earlier this year. As far as movie recommendations I personally love Super 8, IT (the 1990 miniseries and the new ones), and the Sleepaway Camp series (I think there is like 5 installments but I've only watched the first 3)

“It ruined two weeks of my life” sign me up! 😂 By TBR just got longer. I’ve been looking for some summer reads. I did love The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires. I Know What You Did Last Summer takes me back. That was the first “scary” movie my parents actually allowed me to see. Showing my age here. Of course I snuck a few before that one. 😂 Fun video!

Also Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte, and What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? They grew up watching classics with me.👻❤
I am anxiously waiting for Dead Girls Walking to come in on my library hold. It has a summer camp and a serial killer who is maybe a ghost or something.
i just found the innocents on youtube and i'm going to watch it over dinner! i had no idea a guest in the house was a graphic novel but i've always been entranced by the cover so i just asked my library to get it for me 😄 i also love i know what you did last summer it was so fun and silly and the ending to the sequel actually got a little scream out of me because someone hiding under the bed is my worst nightmare 😂😂 also my special interest is scooby doo and shows like mystery incorporated were so choc full of references to things like poltergeist and invasion of the body snatchers i feel like i'm obliged now to see the originals 😊 thanks for the recs!!

Yessss, thank you for this list!! I've been really wanting to finally get into horror properly, especially in terms of literature and everything you've describe sounds right up my alley! Especially Camp Damascus with it's autustic main character!! And the summer horror movie vibes feel like such a good place to start for me cus even though I love horror in concept, my nervous system does not appreciate the medium cus it interprets jumpscares as electric shocks x) It's probably gonna be a while til I can get to any of these books but I can't wait to FINALLY watch I Know What You Did Last Summer :)

Love these recommendations! My go-to spooky summer movie is IT (2017). Kids riding bikes and being traumatised by a killer clown in the 80s!

@@ArinHoney oh yes… there are definitely moments where it reminds you that it’s YA but overall it’s not unreadable bc of the YA aspect imo!

Absolutely! A nice practical/digital combo is also great. I feel like a certain amount of practical just makes it feels so much more visceral
