@@GetCookingNow loved the Bebinca, i tried it yesterday, I was also using a beautiful recipe by florency , but she used a lil less flour but urs is also very good 😊 wishing ull a very happy n healthy blessed New year 🎊
Thank you so much Jen! Well if you're making half the quantity you will need a baking Tin with the same height but lesser width & length. So I suggest you use a 6 inch square baking tray or 7x5 inch rectangular baking tray tray. But ensure the height is atleast 2 inch or 2 & half inch. If you're using a round tin then use a 7 inch diameter baking tray. If you will have a total of 9 ladles of batter. You will need to use 1 ladle for each layer, if you're making a 9 layer Bebinca. Also before you go & bake the Bebinca I suggest you check if 9 ladles of water fit in the baking Tin you plan to use. This way you won't end up having any surprises later. Hope this answers all your questions. Happy Cooking & have a great weekend 🙂
Hello, you explained beautifully step by step, you are a very kind lady. Can I use 2 cups sugar instead of 2 3/4 cups? Thankyou very much and have a very lovely New Year.😢
Thank you so much Lidia, I'm confused, does my voice sound like a lady??? I thought I had a nice manly voice. Anyways, the quantity of sugar we have recommended will give you the perfect taste of Bebinca. If you add just 2 cups it will not be sweet. So depends on you entirely. If you don't want it sweet you can add only 2 cups of sugar. Or else follow the quantity we have mentioned. 🙂 Wishing you a Merry Christmas & a very Happy New year filled with lots of love, happiness, success & prosperity. Stay safe & Enjoy! 🎊⭐🎄☃️🌟🎁

I had eaten Bebinca some years back. l really loved it but the person made it never shared the receipe. When l saw your channel with bebinca receipe l couldn’t wait to try, so yesterday l made it, it’s very delicious and mouth watering. I just wanted your help to ask you if l can put the baking sheet on the bottom of the cake pan. My bottom layer was stuck so l had to remove it with the butter knife. Please help. Thank you 🙏
Angeline, Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback on this recipe. Agree with you that people only want recipes but seldom share their own recipes. Regarding your question about putting a baking sheet at the bottom to prevent the base from burning or sticking to the pan. If you apply ghee nicely to the pan & place the pan on the middle rack then nothing should stick to the bottom because the heat from the bottom is only used for the first layer after that for all the other layers the heat will only come from the top. So technically nothing should burn or get stuck to the pan. Also before un moulding you should slightly warm up the pan especially the bottom. It then comes out easily. Did your bottom layer burn? Or was it just stuck to the pan?
@ no it didn’t burn, yes l did warm up for three minutes on a pan. The whole bebinca came out nicely just one layer, the bottom one got stuck. I baked on fan forced oven. Maybe practice makes it perfect. Next time will try again. Thanks for your reply 🙏
Angeline, if it didn't burn then you just need to understand how your oven works for you. Each oven is different and hence you will understand it once you bake often. Like you said Practice makes it perfect 😀
Thanks for sharing your excellent and detailed receipe. For baking the first layer the top and bottom heat has to be turned on and the remaining layers only the top heat. How is this to be done please. THANKS IN ADVANCE. God Bless You and Your Career.
Lourdes, it depends on your individual oven. If you have an OTG oven it will have heating elements both on the top and bottom of the oven. So for the first layer chose the option that turns on both top & bottom heating elements. Second layer onwards only turn on the top heating element, bottom heating element should not be turned on. If you have a gas oven then use the baking option for the first layer & then from the second layer onwards use only the grill option where you only have the fire on top. If you have any further doubts you can ask me, no problem 🙂

Thanks you so much for your feedback Lia. Beating the sugar & eggs together first like we do while making cakes, then adding the rest of the ingredients gave us a better end result.
Raina, I'm so sorry, the oven has to heat from top or else you can't bake a Bebinca. As each layer is put and heated from top. If you do it any other way the bottom layers will burn.
Nolan, It's mentioned in the video roughly around 15 mins, but you will need to monitor it properly as each oven will be different & hence the time will also differ.
