Arby's started to "up their game" years ago when they started the market fresh sandwich line. They have continued to do that with their burger. I do agree that the burger sauce really isn't necessary. I think if they just did a good old fashioned Lettuce tomato and onion plus the pickle, they would pretty much smoke all the other fast food places.
I think I recall Arby's having a limited run of "chopped steak" burgers, in Pennsylvania, in the mid-eighties. I know I tried one from somewhere, pretty sure it was them, because Roy Rodgers was popular there then and sold both burgers and roast beef. What I recall is they were kinda boring with steak sauce and onions, very similar to the McDonald's steak sandwich from then. Glad to see it back and i checked here in New Bern, and our local Arby's has it! Yea, im heading out to lunch on one with my 50% app discount. Thanks for the fun reviews!

You know that this burger looks more of a burger that we use to see in them older days. Where the patties are not compressed by machines and cut in a perfect circle or shape. This you can tell by the thickness and the shape that this was not crafted by machine but crafted by hand. It has these layers on layers with its own texture. This I like cause it reminds me of the burgers I use to have at a drive-thru and when I mean drive-thru. I mean like the drive up diners. The classic looking burger with there signature fries.. This brings back memories.. Kudo to Arbies and bringing this classic back to what us Americans call classic..
i work at arbys and these are deffinitely machine made. it says so on the box we get from the freezer. maybe your memories a little hazy old man. now dont forget to take your meds and stay away from the comment section
@@jerseylife8701 exactly true. Yeah it's easily visible that this burger here is hand made and not by machine cause it has an unique shape where machine is perfectly cut and circular as well.
had this burger the other day, it was pretty good. it's definitely bigger, juicier and well seasoned. the crazy thing is it's only a $1 more than the average burger. might have to try the bacon amd ranch version next week before it's gone
I wish this were the case for me, but all the restaurants in St. Charles MO area are in super sad shape. It’s almost like the employees know that the average person in my area doesn’t like arby’s so they stop trying, and that fuels people not going, etc, the vicious cycle
As a butcher i can confirm that Wagyu meat is some of the best there is. If cooked properly it is exceptional. Also i find it funny how reviewbrah says that this is one of the biggest patties he's ever seen when here in Europe a burger this size would be considered small in most places
That's the trend with fast food joints here. If you want a thick patty, you need to go to a restaurant or diner and get a good sized patty on a burger there..... now the fast food burgers are getting to same price as the ones at restaurants compared to being 1/3 the price
I dont't know where in Europe you're living, but here where I'm living, that size of patty would be considered rather hefty, even if you'll get it from a restaurant. Not to speak, if you get it from a fast food joint. Surely, there's places around in my country that you can get burgers with even larger patties than this, but that's not a norm generally, and that kind of burgers are usually twice as expensive.
@@NikoBellaKhouf2 it depends on where you are tbh, when i went to italy, portions were huge, but I've been to france, ireland and uk, and theirs are way smaller compared to this arby burger
I normally don't care about fast food promotion items but this was one of the rare ones I actual wanted to try. Sadly they didn't sell it in stores where I lived. So happy to hear a review about what I missed.
@@jorad4887 bro now i've known people who've owned fast food places over the years and i gota say out of all of them, arbys is the cloest tto real you will get. My uncle ran a arbys for 14 years before he moved into the hotel business and i will tell you for fact, the roast beef is real, and they also dont freeze it. Ya its still unhealthy alot of the stuff and they make them curely fries in greece, but arbys is by far the most real fast food compared to most. One reason arby is so pricey is because its fresh roast beef, they dont freeze that shit and they get 2 shipments a week. Unlike mcdonalds,,,bk,sonic and alot of places who freeze there burgers, arbys does not freeze there shit.
Arby's actually had another sandwich that they advertised as a burger, but healthier. It had all the fixings of a burger, but the only difference was that instead of a burger patty, it was sliced roast beef. It was really good, and since it wasn't cooked on a grill with oil, it wasn't greasy. I really liked it.
This is the only thing I liked from Arby's as a kid, beside the curly fries of course. The regular meat folds in between bread didn't cut it for me lol
Arby's is amazing. Once known for their roast beef and potato pancakes, they have expanded their delicious offerings like Reubens, gyros, curly fries (haven't tried anything in addition to those items) And they market themselves as having the meats so they're no longer just the place to go to for roast beef. I don't eat Arby's much but when I do I'm always impressed.
In case anybody’s wondering, it’s American wagyu not authentic Japanese wagyu or even Australian wagyu, which is far less expensive and also less marbled. Although on a burger you’d have a hard time noticing anyway.
Wagyu is dependent on the breed of cow. Japanese cows can exist outside of Japan. This burger is not 100% wagyu. It is a mix of wagyu and typical beef. What you may be thinking of is the Wagyu rating system in Japan. 5A and even many lower rated Wagyu beef is typically only found in Japan and likely wouldn't be found anywhere near a burger. Or at least outside of fine dining. But wagyu itself doesn't denote any sort of quality.
Should go without saying. Of course arbys isn't gonna go out and get authentic Japanese wagyu lol, it's all just the cheapest ingredients they can get.
I've had Wagyu hamburger and steak from a local farm and it's definitely 100% better than anything you buy in the store. It's an amazing difference so I would think you could instantly tell if it's genuine Wagyu.
I haven't eaten at an Arby's for about 50 years. As a kid, I remember that their roast beef was thin sliced off a real roast. They used to have the roast is a glass display case. Then they switched to some type of chopped, pressed beef. I thought it was terrible and never went back. I will definitely go back to try the wagyu burger, hold the special sauce, catsup only.
I feel ya bro, I had a transgender coworker we worked at a Tacobell and he/she would jizz in the sourcream called it "jizzzam" I suggested they call it "cumshot"
What a time to be alive. My Arby's was closed at 4:30PM on a Saturday, along with Taco Bell. Not Arby's burger. No Mexican pizza. And it cost me roughly the cost of a burrito to find all this out.
Arbys's deserves the cult following that Chick-Fil-A has but people need to understand that just because their menu isnt just burgers/chicken/fries/shakes doesnt make it not e-l-i-t-e. They have a very 'different' menu than 95% of fast food places, but different doesnt make it not as good. Expand your palette people, its for the best.
I like Arby's, but it always seems like they cook their food in the microwave 😂. I live less than a mile from Arby's and by the time I get home my food is no longer hot. Other locations I've tried have been the same unfortunately. I've never been to an Arby's and had a meal that I could tell was freshly cooked. I think this might be most people's experience with them. Their deli sandwiches and wraps are awesome though, and the Jamocha shake is top tier .
Not crazy about the burger sauce(or the amount they put on it) but honestly was way better than I expected it to be,the beef tastes good and is actually pink in the middle, you don’t see medium at fast food places, and it’s a big patty for the price. I’d honestly like to see this added to the menu permanently
I miss Arbys. They close the 2 that were near me in south Jersey. I also miss the Big Montana. I used to buy hamburger buns from the grocery store and with the big Montana, there was so much meat on it that you could make 8 roast beef sandwiches from 1 Montana. It was amazing
The Big Montana still exists, it's just called the Half Pound Roast Beef Sandwich. Big Montana was also Half LB. Use to order that as a kid all the time, when I got into my 20s I was confused where it went and learned they just removed the name.
I had to try it after seeing this review, I got the bacon and ranch version of this burger, and it was good! This version didn’t have the sauce that the original has, so I can’t critique that. But overall it was a good, filling meal!
A couple of years ago, Arby's had a Turkey Cranberry sandwich. I tried it, and had a similar experience. There was so much cranberry sauce ( same consistency as burger sauce), I needed a shower after eating the thing. The bread was so saturated with it that it fell apart while I was trying to eat. Had it had a normal/reasonable amount of sauce I would have been a repeat customer.
The only drawback on this burger is the price, but that comes with the wagyu i'd imagine. My friend also made similar comments about the sauce. Personally I like that it's lathered in it. It doesn't detract from the taste but does ensure some type of flavor with every bite, even if its the last soggy piece of bun at the end.
I had on today after Panda Express messed up my order and instead of giving me brocolli beef I only got broccoli , I went down my house and got one of these bad boys and let me tell you , I was extremely impressed by the deluxe option , will be coming back.
Your reviews are really really good. You hit all the points. You know, I’m old enough to remember that there were men who were excellent at describing things on the news or etc with very similar traits. I feel like I love having you do food reviews, but like a good burger with no need of sauce, I feel that you should be doing something even more meaningful, I mean this as a solid compliment, you could be doing just about anything you wanted in review and reports. Blessings to you sir!
Personally I think he’s doing quite well for himself, the food reviews have certainly been accurate and unbiased. Every video of his, I’ve taken to heart, because I, myself, share almost identical tastes. It’s entirely subjective, though.
Oddly enough you tend to say there is not enough sauce on most sandwiches. This one has too much. So there is a Goldie Locks zone for the perfect amount of sauce. Perhaps the solution for all would be to provide a side of sauce and allow each of us to decide how much we want.
I felt the same way, thought the burger was good, but the sauce left a bit to be desired and the was too much of it on the sandwich. when I explained it to a co-worker I described the sauce as a light mac sauce without the pickles. I thought it would have been better without the sauce, or maybe something use something that complimented the meat better
Thanks so much! My cat passed away yesterday morning, and when you started telling the story about spilling the sauce on your lap and going back to the office…first time I’ve laughed in like thirty hours. Thanks.
Hope you’re okay. To comment about your cat goes to show you are a caring cat owner. I’m sure your cat loved you a lot. Time heals and we never forget.
I like some sort of sauce on my burger. Nothing worse than a burger that is as dry as a desert, so for me if there is a lot of sauce that's all right. Also I am glad to see a sizable patty as opposed to the super thin burgers that are all the rage these days.
Nah he's trippin on the burger sauce. You definitely need to have it on that, it completes it. Also not gonna lie, this was surprisingly one of the best burgers I've ever had at any fast food chain in my life.
Some people do need that much I hate like heck biting into a dry bite of a hamburger and have to immediately take a drink of soda to get moisture ! I love having to wipe the sauce off my elbows , this looks like a great burger I’m going out today , can’t wait , and reasonable price too , thanks brah for reviewing it !can’t wait for all the burger sauce😆
Idk bro personally I would rather tell them to add more, then get a messy burger that I don't feel like eating. If it looks gross, it looks gross. Period. It doesn't have to be a work of art, but if the bun is stuck to the wrapper and sauce is swimming in the packaging, I don't want it.
I did try this today (sans the bacon) and it is truly a delicious addition to the Arby's menu. In fact, there were quite a few customers ahead of me ordering the same thing. The were excited to try it. I had it well done, and there was not a lot of the "burger sauce" on it. So, I found out that there is also the "bacon" version for $1 more. I will go order it again.
@@asimhussain8716 They are pre sous vide cooked to a preset temp, you can't order one rare unfortunately. The good thing about sous vide is that it will never be overcooked.
Took his advice. The burger is actually pretty good. They patty itself is meaty and tasted a little like black pepper. I got the sauce on the side and dipped my curly fries in it.
I tried this the other day, and I think my Arby's did not make it very well. The patty was overcooked to the point that it lacked all flavor. Lettuce was really soggy thanks to the burger sauce, and it was assembled so poorly that half the bun held only tomato. I see the potential here, but what I had wasn't worth the money.
American wagyu is a bull wagyu bred with a Black Angus and the same with the Australian waygu but they have 3 breeds though so some of their meat is comparable to full Japanese wagyu..Walmart sells American waygu burgers in a 3 pack pre made patties and 1lb ground waygu packages
I really enjoyed this burger. Very juicy and flavorful. You are spot on when you said the sauce tastes like a rip off of the Big Mac sauce. If this burger had actual Big Mac sauce on it, it would be an 11 out of 10.
Arby's has actually had a burger on its menu before, it just didn't have a ground beef patty. The Roast Beef burger was on the menu for a short time in the late 2000s
That's what I was thinking! I ordered it before, it was honestly pretty good. It had all the fixings of a burger, but instead of a oil and grease patty, it was sliced roast beef. I'd love to see it on the menu again.
I tried this burger last week. First time I had set foot in an Arby's in over a year. Best item they've put on the menu, hands down. Doesn't hold a candle to diner/local burger joint-style burgers, but it's definitely one of the best burgers in the fast food game. I'd say it even beats my old personal favorite, A&W's Papa Burger.
I got one the other day and I thought it was okay. Tasted like a Rally's burger to me. But maybe it was just the Arby's I went to. I'll try it again at a different location.
Love the burger as well. Comparing it to the big mac sauce is very fair, but it's even sweeter. So sweet that I was convinced the pickles were sweet the first time I tried one. 3 down to date though! Edit: Also I have to agree with the sentiment that Arby's have been upping their game recently. Admittedly I used to call this place Barfy's when I was younger and avoided it like the plague. Now it's one of my top stops!
Too bad it isn’t 100% wagyu. I’ve had this myself and I’ve had an authentic wagyu burger/steak at a Japanese restaurant and it isn’t even comparable. However this burger is far better than it’s competition such as Burger King Wendy’s and McDonald’s. So bravo arbys!!!!
I just tried one this past week based on this review. Admittedly this was a good burger and was very surprised. Also Arby's crinkle fries are amazingly good.
I tried this burger not knowing how it was even cooked. I myself didn't like it at all, doesn't look like the picture in any way. Now I know it's cooked in a water bath and dropped in the fryer for 2 mins to crisp it up. Just not my thing. In - N - Out is what a burger is all about in my mind !!
I'm a manager in training at the busiest Arby's in my home state; I'm not super-loyal to Inspire Brands, but I appreciate this insight to help my team. They're great people and I want us to serve the best food possible, even if it's just a greasy fast-food sandwich PS - Don't quote me, but the sauce may or may not just be Thousand Island dressing. “Some people ask the question, you know, where do, uh… well where do burgers come from, right? And that’s part of the answer right there if you just think about it.” 😂 Lot of good ones in this one. Especially the musings on asserting dominance through burger sauce drippings. Well done, as usual man.

@Tiger Bandaid rude
Really? I thought you Europeans were always roasting us Americans for our portions and meals being "too large."

Those triangle-shaped potato cakes have been off the menu since the pandemic started. I want 'em back.
They have the best mozz sticks and cherry turnovers. Yum

I think it’s about 30% Wagyu, not sure or source or grade, obviously not that high given the cost. I believe there’s brisket in the blend as well.
I've had Wagyu hamburger and steak from a local farm and it's definitely 100% better than anything you buy in the store. It's an amazing difference so I would think you could instantly tell if it's genuine Wagyu.
3 bites in without saying a word about the burger... im sold.
Ditto.

A couple of years ago, Arby's had a Turkey Cranberry sandwich. I tried it, and had a similar experience.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what it was. I took a bitr out of my dad's burger.
Oddly enough you tend to say there is not enough sauce on most sandwiches. This one has too much. So there is a Goldie Locks zone for the perfect amount of sauce. Perhaps the solution for all would be to provide a side of sauce and allow each of us to decide how much we want.

I tried this the other day, and I think my Arby's did not make it very well. The patty was overcooked to the point that it lacked all flavor.

I doubt it beats a Culvers Butter Burger.
I like the amount of sauce.
