    Wow. Glad to know that. See I always thought that the tungsten guide rods were the way to go for recoil. Thanks alot!

      I just received mine today. Did you shoot yours yet? And are you changing all springs? I did and the trigger feels amazing.. Just cant wait to shoot with my defensive ammo..

    • @Fatalistic.
      @Fatalistic. 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I received mine last Tuesday. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get in range time yet. Yes, I replaced all the springs and I must say it feels like butter. Not to mention I polished my plunger and trigger bar. I don't have a trigger gauge but it feels in the 3-pound range.

      Niceeeeeee.. I'm just praying it can handle 124g Hallow Points... And mine fell like c3-3.5 without the polish. So I can imagine how yours feel..

    Do your base pads help with the Gen5 front mag relief pinch? I have a great idea to help with this and keep ability to remove the mag during a malfunction.

    What is the purpose of the stainless trigger pin? I cannot locate this info. Thanks

    • @tonygdamuscle
      @tonygdamuscle 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The purpose is just to switch out the factory Glock pin so it is known that TTI did the custom trigger job. It's just part of the package. The Glock factory pins suck in my opinion anyway. They are plastic! I put the ZEV TECHNOLOGIES titanium pins on my Glock 21
      Gen 4, just to have something stronger than plastic and of better quality.

    At 1:10, you safety checked the gun by racking the slide with the magazine in, then you removed the magazine and assumed the gun was safe. What would have happened if there had been one round in the magazine before you racked the slide?

    • @iamjonnywick
      @iamjonnywick 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think what would have happened is a negligent discharge and instant memes with reaction videos.

      This man is a legend I’m pretty sure he knows his way around a safe or hot gun lol but I get what you mean

    • @w34356
      @w34356 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is a poor way to demonstrate how to check if a gun is safe. I would get yelled at if I did this in front of a range-master.

    What I dont understand is how the hell can Taran Tactical get Glock Gen5 or how can he use them if he's not LE and is in California ? On top of that if his customers are in California and are not LE how are they able to buy Gen5 Glocks if they're illegal for purchase by regukar civilians in California ?

      I'll tell you what.. The 3.5 kit for the trigger is amazing for the GEN5.. I have several GEN4s with different triggers, for the price of this, It's a winner..

    Heavier guide rod spring does not equal softer recoil?

    • @jacobwhitt4151
      @jacobwhitt4151 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      AKlover not necessarily, competition shooters don't shoot real hot ammo typically so a heavy spring that'll handle over pressure loads is unnecessary

    • @AKlover
      @AKlover 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      For hot defensive loads in a carry gun a heavier spring is a good idea? 124gr Underwood +P+ with 19 or 20 pound spring specifically from a Glock 19.

    • @jacobwhitt4151
      @jacobwhitt4151 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most factory glocks will handle overpressure loads with the factory spring fine, or just throw a .40 cal spring in it, it's not a terrible idea but it's not required

    • @AKlover
      @AKlover 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The springs work in weights. Factory weight for a 19 or 23 is 18lbs. I ordered 19lb and 20lb springs with a steel guide rod for a gen 3. I also ordered a heavier striker spring since I like using "bad" ammo which often have harder primers. Wolff springs if you are curious, but if you're answering my question you likely knew of Wolff already...

    • @K-bob_45
      @K-bob_45 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Conceptually think about it like this, if you had a 200 lb recoil spring all of the recoil would be transmitted straight to you instantly after the shot. If you have no recoil spring whatsoever, you wouldn't feel any recoil until the slide unlocked, travel rearward, and struck the impact abutment on the frame. The lock up of the slide and barrel have just as much to do with the impulse of the gun, probably even more, than the spring rate. In the original drawings of the 1911 the "recoil spring' was actually called the action spring. It's primary function is to strip off the next round from the mag and return the gun to battery. Recoil spring is kind of a misnomer.
