    I also use the same Motive Industries brake bleeder and should buy the Euro Billet Adaptor which looks much better than the original plastic adaptor. I buy two quarts of brake fluid when I flush my brake systems.

    Just the last part, you need to bleed the line at least 3 times each caliper using the pedal break! It will give you 100% success to avoid any air in the system.

    You must test great Tarox Road-Race and Endless S-Four ( DD ) and RF-650 brake fluids ( the best for racing ).
    AP brake fluid, Stoptech brake fuid and Mobil brake fluid are good too. Be careful some brake fluids are very aggressive with brakes system.

    I’m going to be changing my brake fluid in my 2019 Alfa Giulia. When I use the power bleeder and put in 40 pounds is that enough to open up the ABS module and flush out the brake fluid from the module itself. Thanks Phil for a great video.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mark follow this video exact and youll be fine do not over pressure the Motive because you can cause the hose and cap on the master cylinder to explode and you will have a dangerous mess of brake fluid all over the cars paint and engine bay which can remove and damage the paint. Do each caliper one by one and check the Motive PSI and charge up each time to the levels I show here and youll get a perfect flush and bleed. take your time it is easy to do.

    Have you had any squeaky pedal using the ATE Typ 200? I've read lots of reviews and forum posts stating the ATE Typ 200 can cause a squeaky brake pedal - something regarding the master cylinder and the viscosity. I was debating between this and the Bosch ESI6 fluid but I can't make my mind up.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      this is regular service like oil changes, tires, brake pads etc so should not pose any warranty related concerns. i only use warranty for complex expensive stuff that needs replacing on any new car since parts can be very costly to do on your own.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      zero, if the car had a pushrod with typical master cylinder you would notice a firmer pedal but brake by wire no difference.

  • @Pau1ywog5
    @Pau1ywog5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'd be nervous about installing that Schrader valve. Could be a point of failure in an otherwise airtight system. Depending on the car, you're really only looking at 1 bar of pressure. That's just a handful of pumps with a small bleeder like that. In their larger units, like ones used for fluid transfer, they do install the Schrader valve from the factory.
    If you really want to get technical, you could fasten the compressor directly to the bleeder with some sort of pressure regulator. Probably overkill but you have some nice cars.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  ปีที่แล้ว

      this method is the safest and easiest DIY on these newer cars with the ABS system since you need more PSI than normal. The Motive container is really strong It can handle over 100PSI so with the air valve to charge per caliper it is perfectly safe and easy for any DIYer to do. The hand pump limits the pressure you can manually force into the container based on the seal so the air valve lets you cheat that from the equation and use the container as a pressure vessel.

    • @Pau1ywog5
      @Pau1ywog5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@autofanaticcars Ah I see. It was unclear to me the need for the mod. But if you're saying it's to test the PSI limits then for sure. I have a bunch of Motiv products. They're great.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      no dash codes on my 2018 and 2019 all good to go, codes pop up if you run the system dry or if your pads are so worn out and you push the caliper pistons in all the way then you need Multiscan to clear and reset but it is easy

    Do you have to disconnect the battery? i have the Multiscan diagnostics so you most likely just hit some prompts to put the car into brake service mode with the ABS. Not sure how a dealer does it but most owners do not have the diagnostic tools so this method is another option for anyone doing it on their own.

  • @DK-455
    @DK-455 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Seems like you can get the same result by using a container with tubing end attached tightly to caliper bleeder screw submerged in fluid and pumping the brake pedal to fill container with old fluid. Using a board or some other object under pedal so it doesn't go any further than you normally depress it so there's no damage to the master cylinder. And of course keep the master cylinder topped off. A lot less complicated than using that motive tool bleeder.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      wrong you can not bleed this car using that archaic method there is no pedal pushrod that goes into the master cylinder it is all electronically controlled and pumping brakes is a horrible solution even on older cars because you can side load the piston and cause other issues. pressure and reverse bleeding are the proper ways to bleed brakes perfectly every time. Motive Power flush and bleed is a simple 1 hour job by yourself with no mess or fuss.

    • @DK-455
      @DK-455 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@autofanaticcars forgot you have that brake by wire system but I stand by my described method as being easier and just as effective. The two person bleeding method has been used for decades as well with great results. Not sure what you mean by side loading the piston by I respect your opinion nevertheless.
