Bloody superb ! Perfect. But please ditch the music, i have obsessive attention disorder which means the background music is (for me) the same level as your voice sorry but i hear all sounds equal volume. Subscribed and liked I love jyutping its so easy compared to ****yale or is it yahle?

I have recently come to realise that I've been mispronouncing many words that start with the gw sound. I end up pronouncing them with the g sound instead. An example is that I pronounce the word 過 like 個. I think the reason is that my first languages/dialects are Toisan and Xinhui. These two particular words are pronounced the same in the other dialects that I know.

I don't think it's wrong. Many Canton people drop the "w" in the Gw sound. Like in 廣 or 國. It's just an "accent" kind of thing. It's probably the case because you grew up around people using that pronunciation?
      I know because I do.

Thank you so much! Could you please cover all remaining onsets on the next video?

I'll cover 6 remaining onsets in the next one, as the final three requires some knowledge about the rimes, so the plan is to cover them after the first video on rime. 😉

I was wondering if you could make a video about the final p, k and t. These three sounds are quite tricky to imitate that I strongly believe most canto learners have trouble with.

Sure! The plan is to have a series of videos that teach everything we have to know about Jyutping. Yes we'll get to the codas in the future, and p, t, k will be focused on!

the glottal stop entering "sounds". What's troubling you with them particularly? You just chop it off at the end - if you can imitate Cantonese accented english, it's pretty evident there

Can you do a quick tutorial on 'buy' vs 'sell' in cantonese? I cant seem to pronounce it correctly so I avoid saying it to my family to avoid confusion lol.. mai? Myyyy? 😅

it's not so much pronunciation, but tones differences. "buy" is a rising tone, "sell" is a falling/level tone
