      Neofinetia is definitely a good and small orchid to cherish as are its hybrids that do very well in warm growing conditions

    There is nothing that beats growing a neo in the proper, classic moss mound😍 the history lesson, epic! I love your creative presentations... they really do highlight the neos beautifully 👍🏼 thank you so much for taking the time for this fantastic video, I so appreciate it 🫶🏼

      Thanks Nina, Neo's are and have always been my passion. At one time, I had over 200 and I loved to just sit with them and enjoy the plants. Unfortunately a serious accident and a long time recuperating ended my large collection but over the past two years they drove me to stay positive and enjoy them.

    Haha! Watched Nina's video, to Nicole's, then Fernandas then saw one of your vids, back to Nina's to find more collaborators ... and here you are again.
    I have 6, potted in Kokedama, straight moss and pot in pot. Can't wait to try mounting on some interesting piece's. Thank you for the video.

    You certainly put your finger precisely on the problem, Marc, about the new identification of the Neofinetia. I am Just learning Orchid, so I went online for information. I knew a smaller orchid was needed… I found a Vanda falcata miniature - aha! So, got one, and researched Vanda care, and did my best to provide the light and water requirements of the Vanda orchid. Net result: very sad Neofinetias. But I didn’t know What was up. Getting really solid information online seemed like there was a secret handshake or something! Anyway anyway.
    Thank you!

      for me there are no secrets. Everyone may know how I care for my orchids, including failiers but Neofinetia is my top favorite one.

      Thanks. When temps go under 8°C = 46°F, keep the plant on the dry side. Cold + wet = rot.

    I relaxing with my feet up on the settee watching your CareColab video. My brain is working overtime. I need to address the care of my Neofinitia falcata, following your guidelines. My problem, placing them outside is that our garden gets direct sunlight on three sides of the property. The North side is open to the eastern aspect, sun from dawn through to midafternoon. By 2pm, the sun has moved over to bring the western sunlight through to dusk. Your theatre display cabinet is a brilliant idea, maybe a sunscreen front would suffice. I'll be scratching my head and probably drive Keith mad in an attempt to grow these wonderful orchids in the conditions they enjoy. Thank you Marc.

      Mine get sun and heat, even with temperatures over 35°C at times. If you can put some kind of umbrella over them, that would work. You can also hang them in one of your lovely trees where they are shaded by the leaves and get a lot of air circulation. I recommend you watch botanyboy1's videos (th-cam.com/users/botanyboy1). He grows them that way in the warmer part of Japan. It's in English.

      Three of my Neos are now hanging under the canopy of the contorted Hazel. They are still in their pots, and I've placed them inside pond pots, which I had sliced open at the sides. The rains have arrived! They will soon dry now. Plenty of breeze runs through this area. I'll do a video once I get the others outside. Thank you 😊

      Thanks! Yes my neos bloom readily, normally. But only when they have at least 2-3 fans. A mentioned, we had a looooong cold winter here, going up to almost the end of spring and then followed by a heatwave in a matter of only 4 days. Orchids got stressed but now are settling down again. I expect more flowers late summer. I'll definitely post an update video when they do.

    Спасибо Вам за видео.У моей неофинетии остановился рост цветоноса,потом он высох.Какую ошибку допустил я в уходе?может в период бутонизации сокращать полив?

    • @TOEKIEWORLDMarc
      @TOEKIEWORLDMarc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do not over think or over care for it. Neofinetia can take some neglect. Don't know what's your setup but make sure the roots do not stay wet for a long time. I water every day but they are dry again after 2 to 3 hours.
      Не думайте и не заботьтесь об этом. Neofinetia может выдержать некоторое пренебрежение. Не знаю, что у вас за установка, но убедитесь, что корни не остаются влажными в течение длительного времени. Я поливаю каждый день, но они снова сохнут через 2-3 часа.
