    Good explanation. Question: When configuring it as Access Point, do you have the same modem speed? That is, if I have contracted 100 MB, does the Access Point with WiFi provide me with the same 100 MB?

    It says in the manual that the ethernet port can't be used to connect to a router. So how does it connect to the router in "access point mode"?

    • @M_Adamson13
      @M_Adamson13 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It connects to an Ethernet port in the wall

    • @maxtomlinson6822

      I have set mine up in access point mode with ethernet from my roiter. My router is at 200mbps download but when I connect the the TP-Link TL-WA850RE extender I only get 37 mbps

    • @M_Adamson13
      @M_Adamson13 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unique Ponde bruh it turns wired connection into a hotspot that’s what Ethernet is that’s how acces point mode works so are you stupid

    • @oldfootage
      @oldfootage 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The only one who is stupid is the customer who bought TP-LINK range extender. Logic 101: Why do you need a range extender? Main wireless router signal does not reach. You buy this range extender and duh! The place you install it shows a red light which indicates too far. What were you thinking? So you buy a 100 foot CAT5 cable to connect to the router. Good luck trying to figure out how to connect a router port to this TP-LINK extender via CAT5 cable to make it an Access Point and get it all to work. Some genius made this video and voila. It all works wireless. Wonderful! Only why do I need an extender or access point to connect to the original source wireless when I can just connect directly to the original source wireless?

      Jack T. Umm it means like if you have Ethernet Ports on your wall like wired into your house and that comment was hella confusing

  • @geekwizardnz1865
    @geekwizardnz1865 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why do you have no 5GHz on the top-link website. Is it because you have a modem that doesn’t support 5GHz? Thinking of buying one

    If the main router has WiFi, Is it necessary to turn WiFi off? I use the extender as repeater but losses almost 50% of speed....so im trying the AP mode

    • @DiversionsInMath
      @DiversionsInMath 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It loses 50% of speed because it can't use duplex. It says it in the manual. All "Range Extenders" are like this. They are crappy products. Buy a proper access point (which this thing could be buy they inexplocably included an ethernet port that can't be used to wire it to a router)

    If I stay on default mode (Range extender) but I connect RJ45 cable from my main router this extender, does it cancel all this procedure ?

    • @MARWAN05511
      @MARWAN05511 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No u have to reset it first, so it can transform to AP mode. However once u plug the cable from ur main router it will automatically turn to AP mode ..

    in acces point mode how can i set it to be the same as the router password and SSID? it is annoying enough to have two WIFI names. In extender mode it is possible to have the same two WIFI names and if I search for WIFI on one device then only 1 SSID is listed. this is what i want to set in acces point mode.

      Have you been able to solve this?

    • @beresadam479
      @beresadam479 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, it has a separate name and a separate password. however, the main router should be set to the DHCP server ON and the acces point should be set to OFF. so they do not interfere with each other's radio waves. but when setting up when we can choose between extender or acces point this is automatically set by the device.
