When you switch off main router or the extension router? At 02:36 we have shown you that both router needs to be in same channel. Have you done that? That used to be a reason for some people. Whenever main router reboots it changes its channel randomly so we need to keep the channel fixed. If that's not the factor I'm not sure what other things can cause that.

Great useful video. But if I want to change the IP address of the old router, how do I login to a router which is no longer connected and active on the network (I am taking an old router from my storage).
After disabling DHCP if your router is already connected to the main router it will work as a modem, which is it will not give access to it's login page but you can access the router login page of the main router. So please do all the other settings before disabling the DHCP.
I m following your tutorial, however, when I clicked survey button to look for the main router, it doesn't show and can't find my main router. Kindly advice how to solve this..
Tried this exact way. It worked for few hours and then internet went down. Even the main router isn't working. Turned off secondary router and then main is working fine. Btw,i have the same secondary router. Any idea?
It will work until the public WiFi channel doesn't change. If it changes you'll have to change yours too. Keep in mind that public WiFi might not be safe.

@@Cwik. this method is needed only when ur not getting signal from main router. You are just extending the wifi range with old router.

Did you need to connect the Ethernet cord to it ?

It can happen if your main router is farther than it's range. Or if there are Many WiFi around you it can be on the bottom or next list.

No. You will have to redo the whole process in secondary router if the main router reboots and changes it's channel.
