Quick guidelines for new players: Generally stay 2 mines only. 2nd mine should be 5 min into the game at the earliest (you want to be winning your lane when you add a mine.) Start with a few q units and 1 e unit. Aura hero generally weak as your first hero. You want a hero thats useful at level 1 for your first hero. (Dk/potm/tc ect are fairly weak first hero) If youre vs summons in your lane get dispel asap. Avoid building seige units unless vs seige engine. Learn armor/attack types Dont spend all your gold on hero items
some actually correct info: 1. your starting units should depend on what roll your opponent has. for new players its good to completely skip building any units first wave(first waves are too small to stack and die to tower anyways before the wave of next player arrives so winning first clash is not that important). if your opponent got grunts t1 and you didn't, dont bother with building any early game units and rush straight to t3 knights/aboms/taurens etc. Grunts are the most OP early game unit and only specific strategies can beat them(which require quite a bit of experience). 2. Aura heroes can absolutely be strong as 1st heroes, you simply don't max your aura first on them. For example, Dreadlord with sleep lvl 1 and carrion swarm lvl 2 almost guarantees early game domination. Another thing is, DK and TC are absolute monsters with auras even in early game, it's because bonus movespeed allows your wave to start stacking 2/3 sends fastes than your opponent which is great advantage. Generally TC and DK are so OP that you should pick them every time you get your hands on them in mixed because there is no guarantee that you will get them as 2nd or 3rd hero. TC with aura lvl 1 is also absolutely OP with grunt rush and can even beat DH with gems of health if played correctly. 3. Siege units are also very good vs spellcaster/dryad spam 4. don't buy hero items at all unless it's one of the below scenarios: a) you rolled DH, in that case you should buy 1 gem of health asap and after that get another one every 2/3/4 waves b) it's super late game(35+ minutes into the game) you already have 3 heroes summoned and 3/3 base upgs and all of the tech for your units. In that case it's good to start buying items with those auras that you or your allies didn't get from heroes.
@@krzysztofputerko1943 these are simple tips for very new players under 30 ish games to get their bearings. they are not ready to build and counter as they don't know what they are doing yet. obviously there is no 1 build suits every situation, but these will give you a good base to start learning the game while avoiding noob trap strategies that cause you to lose all 3 of your teams lanes. also t3 melee rush because someone rolled grunts is insane lol. there's many ways to beat early grunts: banshees, sorc, talons, shaman to name a few. and t3 melee rush is probably the weakest strategy in the game. yeah dl can be a solid first hero - this is the only thing you said that I agree with, but dk is a very weak first hero and tc is quite weak as well. they give almost no value until level 3, and even then level 3 dk is barely useful. - if you get stuck playing from behind in this situation very likely youve just lost your team the game
This is the content I like! Keep it going Grubby, the vids are fun and your insight of each unit and their use is great. Love to learn the "meta" with you in these. Such as those people whom power up their hero giga, or go mass army.
I know that Pit Lord has a long waist but even then five Belts seems a bit excessive (reminds me of that one Bronze game where a Panda had like three).
I was in a match where the darn Demon Hunter was just burning everything that touched him so fast. Someone was saying it was bugged. Game definitely needs some rebalancing and bug fixes but it's fun.
It could be a bug but it's true that DH with gems of HP is quite powerfull even when not bugged. Only build with which I ever managed to beat him early game was Grunts spam with TC aura lvl 1 but it was in classic. a bit later some riders to take care of his dryads
The grunt upgrade gives a little bit more damage and negligible hp to a unit that sucks in this game, for 75 gold. For 150 gold you could get EVERY unit more damage. I think the tier 1 upgrades are so cheap you should be looking to incorporate earlier upgrades into your build, you will notice a big difference.
I used to play WC 3 custom games non stop, let's just say I had to play some DS games the're pretty good pretty much like the ones on SC2, Nice and quick strategy map.
Sad truth but chimeras are actually one of the worst units in this map(alongside with Gryphons and wyrms, heavy air units in generall). They are super expensive and are supposed to provide huge amounts of damage against melee units(heavy armor). The only issue is that they almost never focus melee. Aggro coding in warcraft 3 causes flying units to always focus first whoever can hit them back, which means that instead melting frontlines, they fly above it and start attacking enemy backline consisting of ranged units, spellcasters and ranged heroes. and here is the problem, piercing attacks absolutely melt light armor and medium armor gets reduced damage from magic attacks, The effect is that your heavy air dies in a blink of an eye and the only thing they did was kill about 1 ranged unit per your flyer. it's completely not worth it. The only good scenarios for heavy air is when you see opponent not building any backline and massing grunts/ghouls etc.
you could have added significantly more statues they play really nicely with mass destro (unless theyve changed the interaction from when i played DS like 1-2 years ago)
It seems you're playing the Team OZE version. The original creator of this map LazZ just released a new version of the map that's far better than this one :) 6.0
You singlehandedly rekindled my love for WarCraft 3! Thank you Grubby!❤🎉
Auto battlers are great because you get to create a team of little guys and root for them.

I feel like PotM first could be good if you focus on searing arrows and trying to rush for Starfall. Starfall late game would be devistating.
DH/Potm/Beastmaster heroes with strong ulti or blood/arch mage/dreadlord for q spam are best imo
@@juliankanzuki2013potm is a great 2nd hero.

I would watch you play this for hours, is there a vod?
Can't wait for grubby to get good and this and start making guides. New players need some advice to make the average game more enjoyable for veterans
I remember playing this custom game in the brood war days, it was called desert strike back then
Didn't see anyone commenting about destroyers being the reason of low mana casters. Those guys drank the mana every time before the fights 😅
I hope you played more of these.
Nearly 20 years ago it was Castle Fights.... now its Direct Strike hell yeah
yeah, I remember Castle Fight too :D
This is the content I like! Keep it going Grubby, the vids are fun and your insight of each unit and their use is great. Love to learn the "meta" with you in these. Such as those people whom power up their hero giga, or go mass army.
This map reminds me of Castle Fight way back in the days. It's fun to watch too. Please keep 'em coming.
Interesting seeing the War3 version of this as someone who's played quite a bit of the SC2 version. ;)
Thanks for the entertainment.
OH MAN!
I been playing DS for the last 2 years consistently. I wish I had a game with you because that would have been insane!
I really enjoy it, I hope I can find matches fast
It's a really fun way to Learn armor/attack types
NEED MORE VIDEOS LIKE THIS GRUBBY
Holy crap Grubby, I need more of this videos!
This is an awesome mode! Thank you for broadcasting it
I know that Pit Lord has a long waist but even then five Belts seems a bit excessive (reminds me of that one Bronze game where a Panda had like three).
yes moooore the last one was so fun!!!!
Again we need this content. Good gameplay
Great, would love to see a few of these!
thanks mr grubby 🎉🎉🎉
I love this Direct Strike content. Makes me want to get back into Warcraft.
I need to get myself a copy of Reforged to play such as maps. They're so cool!
that statis trap and big bad vodoo combo
Thank you Grubby❤
this custom map is fun, more pls
actually armor helps vs cleave as damage calculated of damage dealt to primary target (ie target's armor is what important)

actually pretty cool game mode!
Your army was important to counter the pit lord as your allies army is mosty clumped up but can do great damage
If its not too hard, would be cool to see more of direct strike!
I wish I could give you money. I love seeing you play custom game modes
MORE of these games, please!
its like Castlefight back in the day but better
Gotta check that out. The only custom map i play is Castle fight.
they have direct strike in WC3? Now i can finally learn what armor is weak to which weapons
Grubby! Check out "Castle fight" too, it's pretty similar but no heroes and spell micromanagement
Direct Strike looks super cool!
Nice mod. Do more of it plz Grubby.
I used to play WC 3 custom games non stop, let's just say I had to play some DS games the're pretty good pretty much like the ones on SC2, Nice and quick strategy map.
Really wanted to see chat after the first big bad voodoo
If i wanna play this map. Which Version of wc3 Do i need. Im sometimes Konfused with the reforged Blizzard Version and the Ladder Version.
I have tried playing warcraft3 again but I just cant, but Direct Strike is the kind of custom game that I can easly pick it up

I love auto battler so much. More of this plz
That was amazing :D
I think destroyers were nomming on your mana from the start, causing your army to have mana problems they shouldnt have.
Game looks similar to teamfight tactics in league
Is this game playable on Reforged or Frozen Throne?
reforged
So beings the custom game era
Need more Direct Strike!
Such fun to watch, more please !
Loves autobattles and still hasn't played Legion TD 2
this game looks so fun 😯😯
please do this more and more PLEASE
Love them
My wife and I used to go hard in this game in sc2. Probably 700 or so hours. I can’t wait to try this game!
Grubby being allergic to basic unit upgrades for dmg/armor hurts my soul. 150g for over 3 units worth of extra damage by 12 minutes in... 💔
Mechabellum and Direct Strike are special auto battlers. I actually wasn't impressed by pretty much every other auto battler I'd tried
you could have added significantly more statues they play really nicely with mass destro (unless theyve changed the interaction from when i played DS like 1-2 years ago)
I just bought this game just to be better than Grubby, I haven't played W3 since approx 2012. 😃
Sry
Fwam was cooking
mooooreeeeeeeeee
Exhume Corpses was removed from Meat Wagons as it would bug out their AI causing them to lag behind massively from the rest of the army.
Wanna more of that ples.
*Yes! yes! yes! Anime meme sounds*
It seems you're playing the Team OZE version. The original creator of this map LazZ just released a new version of the map that's far better than this one :) 6.0
Moarrr moarr direct strike
more! :D
Your mom was in an auto battler when. She made yoh
grubby got pwned so hard in ladder that he became a custom game player lol.
gg
👍👍👍
