Imagine an open world game where they kept Miis, and you could roam around Wuhu Island doing sidequests and such from other Miis and unlocked different sports! Like what if you could run over to the tennis court to play tennis, or run over to the basketball court to play basketball! This game would be priceless imo. You would still have a menu where you could access sports quickly as well.

Enjoyment of a bad game doesn’t excuse it bad design flaws. You can have fun with Balan Wonderworld, Sonic 06 and Fast and Furious: Crossroads i’m shure, and even more with friends. They are still godawful disasters that shouldn’t have been made in any way shape or form.

I think it's really fun.
Volleyball is great fun, bowling feels as good as ever, Tennis feels fun (Can even do under and overspins etc which feels great) and Badminton is like tennis but easier in a sense, more intense.
I feel good about this purchase. Can't wait for Golf, but I hope they also add more sports!

I hope that when they add more sports that they will all be free after the initial purchase. Because it would be ridiculous to have to spend more when the game is already overpriced for what it is.

As a bowler, I actually love how accurate the physics in switch bowling is. I've seen people get upset at pins not falling when the shot looks good, but I think I can speak for other bowlers as well when I say "That's just how bowling is" lol
Not that accurate, I got 5 strikes in a roll and in real life I can`t even get one. I think is just too easy.

Btw wood the reason you were alone was most likely because the other two people in tennis were in a party. If you load in by yourself you will never get a teammate in tennis.
I agree it should have been a launch title but it would have probably messed up Nintendo's whole strategy with the Switch. Their plan now seem like they wanted to execute the exact opposite of the Wii. For the first 2 years of the Switch they have catered to the hardcore gamers and only now they are engaging with the casual/wii market. The fact that the console, at the start, hadn't been defined by 1,2 Switch but Breath of The Wild and Mario Odyssey helped the machine.
Also the The online probably would’ve have sucked if they released it when the switch first came out

I feel Switch Sports was more oriented towards local multiplayer-online multiplayer, I had a blast just going up the ranks against CPU's on singleplayer mode in the original Wii sports ;(

Yeah, I agree, guess that's why it costs less but the online is definitely where the fun's at even with 2 players, all the unlockables n progression n stuff

you can still play solo and offline, the bots are no different than other players tbh. The only one I'd say they're vastly different in is swordfighting but it's still fun. You can even play "online" against other "players" (aka bots) if you don't have a nso membership.
Being an actual bowler I can tell you 110% bowling just sucks sometimes you can put down the best shot of the night and you can leave a solid 9 pin. However on most of the shots you showed you were hitting the left hander pocket. With that said you 100% deserved that specific pin that you replayed. That is very common with the way the ball hit it was already hooking left and then deflected to the left more once hitting the pins

You need to consistently hit the 1-3 pocket in bowling to have the best shot. (For right handed) Going brooklyn like you did will often leave the 5, 8, or 9 pins because of the wide pin deflection angles. It's still possible but you need a lot of carry to power through. At least in real bowling. The balls in this game seem very light. So it's best to just consistently hit the pocket with some decent spin. Easiest way to learn is go into solo practice. And don't focus on anything other than your throw. Get a consistent throw that delivers the same amount of spin. Ignore what you hit. Once you can consistently throw the same ball, you need to adjust your aim (rotate player) and/or position (left/right of the default starting position). Use the dots at the line to always set up position and use the arrows on the lane to line up angle As long as you throw the exact same throw, you should be able to dial in the your correct starting location and direction so that it always hooks into the pocket. You don't need a crazy amount of hook, so don't think you need to go full PBA bowler throw. There is still some RNG luck but with enough practice you should be able to throw majority strikes and only have easy pick ups for spares. Good luck on your quest for victory!

I love the original Wii sports and resort, but i feel like this game lacks a lot of the charm and content from the original (mostly the Miis being replaced and extra gamemodes from the Wii games) . Plus most of the content from the switch reboot is online only.
That argument is sounding increasingly old fashioned, everything nowadays seems to be about yesteryears, it's about time people start to enjoy the new instead of redundantly comparing it to the old

I wish they'd kept golf and baseball but it's basically the same game lol. The map looks like they are going to potentially expand to add all the mini games available in sport and resort.
Resort was my favorite.
Thankfully golf is coming in fall

Honestly, I just bought this game a few days ago, and it’s was totally worth $40. Every game on here is enjoyable, fun to play with friends, fun to play alone against computer or online. I have no regrets about buying this one.
I got this since day 1 and I have not enjoyed a single second.
I would happily have paid $60 for Switch Sports if it had the amount of content that Wii Sports Resort had.
My family still enjoy playing that at gatherings all these years later. We love bowling, Archery and Golf.
I looked forward to Switch Sports, but it’s just far too barebones in content for the price!

Golf is coming out for free in the fall.
And I wouldn't be surprised to see a $20 (or free with NSO+) expansion next year that brings even more games, which would equal your $60 you're willing to spend.

Why should consumers have to pay now for a game that may or may not improve? Besides Golf, there is no information or promise of more sports as DLC. There is no reason why this game couldn’t have had 10+ sports.
Gamers need to vote with their wallets against this disgraceful practice of launching incomplete games at full price and expecting players to wait a few years for content to be drip fed.
I grew up playing the NES/SNES/N64 consoles, and there’s a reason why people hold so much love and nostalgia for these games, because they were complete experiences on the cartridge. No DLC. No patches. No pisstaking from the developers

I understand. Back then was the golden age of gaming, but it wasn't always amazing. There was so much quality control issues that is easy to ignore with rose colored glasses and extreme bias.
And why complain about a free update? Would you rather they not add golf for free? Would then releasing the game as it is today with no further DLC announced or plan suddenly make the game "complete" to you?
If it is that serious to you, just don't buy the game until all the updates are out and then boom, you suddenly just bought a "complete" game. I mean, it's basically the same thing as them delaying the game, only you are delaying it yourself while everyone else in the mean time gets to enjoy the rest that is already released.
Ngl, I'd pay $60 for an open world like field where you can roam around the places where the sports are held. Like instead of going to the menu, you'll walk towards it.

Just going to add my opinion here. (disclaimer, I've only played the trial for switch sports) Honestly I don't really like the art style, soccer, badminton or volleyball in general. The bowling was super satisfying and I can agree the motions do feel great. However the large amount of content in the wii games, even if some of it was super simple, made it feel very full. I always loved boxing, tennis, swordplay, wakeboarding, cycling, bowling, archery, island flyover, dog frisbee and canoeing. Just my favourites are more than what's in switch sports. And although I spent most of my time on those, it was great to change it up. I cannot agree with the release game now add more later model that has become far too popular recently. Yes, switch sports probably deserves a lot of love but in perspective it really offers far less and came out too late.

Me and my dad played on bowling and we came 1st and 2nd at least 3 times with over 230 pins by the end and my dad got 6 strikes in a row (if you want to win you need a spare every time so you get double points)

Here in New Zealand (at least at EB games) Nintendo switch sports is free with the switch. You just have to buy a switch and you get it free. Sucks for those who already have one I guess but nice for those who don't.

Why do people call each sport a mini game🤦🏾♂️ bowling is literally a full bowling game so is every other sport. Mini games are like Mario party were it’s like a very quick game to determine a winner. I had volleyball games last like 10 minutes from back and forth🤦🏾♂️

In bowling, I usually target the center but move slightly to the right (not rotate) and move as if I am actually bowling so the ball will roll straight. The chances of getting a strike when I do this is really high. Not applicable when there are obstacles though.
It weird I stopped watching you for a long time since the partnership or something with nintendo was happening but I really enjoy this type of content than what you have done before although this may be first video it was really enjoyable to watch, keep it up man this was a good watch.

Bowling is super unfair. I just want to bowl a full game. But no. You need to start with 3 strikes or go home. Then, once you figure it out, it throws conveyer belts and obstacles in your lane.

One thing I remember that drove me ballistic in Wii Sports/Wii Sports Resort was the Basketball gamemode... GOD THAT PISSED ME OFF! The mechanics and physics made absolutely no sense in my mind. And as a guy who loves Basketball, it was very annoying. That said, overall, I LOVE Wii Sports Resort. So I know I'd likely love Switch Sports, too. I do hope they implement the old Wii Sports Players vs AI mode though. I likely wouldn't always wish to compete versus other people.

From that point in my life until I stopped playing the Wii , I had always had Nintendo video game systems (even virtual boy). I feel like it’s worth the 40. I’m surprisingly hooked on the soccer online. I enjoyed bowling even tho I can’t bowl strikes everytime 😫. The only one for me that kinda sucks is volleyball. I’m hoping for baseball and boxing to make a return as free DLC.

Same here. I started with bowling and badminton but soccer is amazingly fun! I wish tennis had the option of a singles match and not just doubles.
@@Mirrorglassball I would love singles so much so I don't get railroaded into a 2v1 so often. Also would love to be able to control your movement a bit for positioning. If they could make the stick control even just left and right movement would help so much for better placement.
As someone who plays soccer, this game is very addicting! Like you said: the one sport is worth the money. Also, basketball, baseball, boxing would all be worth the money if they added it aswell!

This game absolutely should've just been included in the NSO expansion pass. That's where this type of game belongs in this day and age. It honestly would have added a lot of value to that service, and made a lot more people happy, even though it's kind of a mediocre offering. They have no business charging as much as they are for it.
They have every right charging what they want for it, no one is forced to buy it and the NSO expansion has enough stuff being added to it.
@@BeadQueen-Nikki they are charging for a game that is essentially the same as a pack in title for a console over 10 years old. They charged for Wii Sport Resort, but that game had double the content. I stand by my statement.

No. It’s not the same game, similar but it’s not just a port with online it’s a game made from the ground up for the Switch. So you can think what you want but my statement still stands too, it doesn’t matter what you think they should have done they have the right to do what they want with the games they developed. The reason Wii Sports was a pack in was because it showcased the motion controls, Switch is a hybrid so it’s very different marketing, how would Switch sports showcase it going from docked to handheld, it can’t. If it was to be bundled with anything it should be joycons or maybe do bundle for Black Friday. Again no one is forcing you to buy it and worth is subjective, there are $70 games that aren’t worth it to many people but Sony can price the way they want. Many people are having tons of fun with the game so I don’t think it matters that it isn’t free.
This is one of my fav games on switch now. I try to avoid playing badminton since it made my arm sore with all those rallies lol. I found online play a lot more fun then local multiplayer with friends and family because it’s more competitive

I've been really enjoying this as a multiplayer game but not so much online. I'm really hoping they add a way to unlock customisations without having to go onto the online mode!

You can choose online mode without nintendo switch online member, it will only match the cpu, but you can unlock customization
