The "cyberpunk bartender action" is actually named VA-11 HALL-A. Highly recommend, it's like a chill bartending game with a storyline. I hate visual novels, but enjoyed VA-11 HALL-A.
I won't lie I really do enjoy going to play Asia and purchasing games that I can't get physical copies of or even games that are coming out to the States. It's definitely something amazing to get into because they have some great stuff and just seeing this videos making me want to go get some more
I love your first impressions of H-Word Vs. Evil. I really hope you do a full review of it when you have more than 50 hours play time - ya know, when you can really do an informed full review. I think that is very important for your channel.
I actually got the game you bought for the art (15:18the one with the cat), it directly translate to Dusk Deep-sleep Street. It was an ok game with bad controls. I played for 1 hour then I got bored, it was all about collecting lanterns in an empty city. I guess it was just a too-lonely-type of game for me. Art style was good though.
Fun fact: Deliland is the same team that created summer in Mara. It was just their first game they created then did a Kickstarter for Summer in Mara and made a better game. Also Va-11 Halla is SO GOOD the story is fantastic.
Fatal frame was just mentioned in the latest direct! Fatal frame 4 is finally coming to the west and I am over the moon excited to play it. I downloaded maiden of black water and it was good but it was not as good as the original three for the ps2. I have all of them except 4 and I just really want them to remake them all for switch or a newer console. Its one of my favorite game series and one of the best horror series I have ever played.
I always love it when people actually acknowledge Final Fantasy 9, instead of hearing about 7 for the millionth time. FF9 is my favorite game of all time, and I have the physical for the Switch too!
I buy from Playasia all the time. They're so great. I love them! You have to make sure it says in stock or know when they expect it in their warehouse or if it's a preorder.
I love hearing about Japanese games. I used to download roughly translated roms as a kid. Dragon Quest is awesome. Dig up the original Dragon "Warrior" for the NES. I think it changed when Square took over.
Alba: A Wildlife Adventure is actually a gorgeous, charming, chill game, with a lovely conservation message. Has Overwhelmingly Positive reviews too! Do play it!!
I am glad your collection continues to grow. It brings me happiness to live through you. Recently due to financial hardness, I had to sell most of my collection. Wish me luck as I rebuild it!
The one you mentioned with Ni no Kuni vibe is a game based on a classic anime titled Crayon Shinchan. It's on par with Doraemon in term of popularity in Japan. I have seen some gameplay of it personally. Also how dare you skipping out on Yo-Kai Watch while making this, Wood 😂 it's very good, trust me.
In case anyone cares the game at 15:18 is 「Tasogare ni Nemuru Machi」 or "TASOMACHI: Behind the Twilight" (Don't know anything else I literally just googled it)
I already had the first 3 Dragon Quest games on the Switch before you showed it. I got mine from Amazon. And yes, they are all in English. The best part is, they all 3 have their own tiles on the Switch console.
Fun facts. I was watching this channel with my baby and he was paying attention like he understand something 😂 you won two follower at the price of one
Hey Wood, not sure if you know, but both Summer in Mara and Deiland are made by the same developers, Chibig. Deiland is a remake of Deiland, Tiny Planet, which was a mobile game they created. Summer in Mara is their most recent game, so they have grown a lot since then.
The game that you can't read because it's not in English with the cute cat is called TASOMACHI: Behind the Twilight. It's a 3D collect-a-thon platformer. And yes, it's in English
You are even more my favorite game reviewer now! Yes-Final Fantasy 9 is the BEST! I like and have enjoyed the other FF’s but 9 was the most memorable!🎉
You sir, are a legend. Love it! Soooo many games! Hi from Australia, Adelaide! I saw one of your videos where you mentioned you used to live in Adelaide! Now you're in the US! You've come so far!!! You are an inspiration💪🏻👍🏻🤟🏻😎. P.S I wish I had bumped into you while you were living here in Adelaide😅👍🏻
I’ve been meaning to get Fatal Frame from here. It’s a series I always wanted to try out but wanted to get the physical and keep forgetting. As for Ender Lilies I got the collectors edition from Limited Run a while ago and it’s still in production. Learned there’s also physicals for games I’ve been meaning to play/buy like VA-11 Hall-A and Young Souls, might pick those up eventually
From friends, I have heard that there are two different versions of crystal chronicles on switch based on region. In Japan, they have access to one that is closer to the original and that you can play with everyone all throughout the game. In the US, we have a version where you can only play with other players in dungeons. Whoever decided that the multiplayer needed to be gutted like that for the US should have been fired.
I actually got H3*7@1 vs Evil on the switch (digital) and I was honestly disappointed with how little there was to do in the game, there's only 3 maps with 2 game modes and difficulties with a way to cheat the survival mode in the first map by hiding behind the counter in the gas station
I’m ALWAYS terrified when playing fatal frame. I played the original on the PS2 and I had to play on mute and I was still jumpy 😅. I got stuck in the game when I ran out of film. Also I once had Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir for the 3DS but was super creeped out having the ghosts in my room using AR that I played the 3DS version once and never again. 🤣 Maybe I’ll try again pick it up for the Switch.
hey that shin chan game is actually great. im not even an anime guy but the show translated to English is just hilarious. the game is great too. definitely should play
For the briefest of moments, it was possible alt-J had been moved to lyricism by the Berkeley road of the same name, but alas, it was not meant to be. According to the band, “Adeline” - written on-tour - is set in Australia and chronicles a Tasmanian devil falling in love with a woman as he watches her swim. If that doesn’t sound like a beautiful concept, alt-J might just convince you it is. Backed by a luscious string section recorded at Abbey Road Studios, the track swims through murky sonics. Singer Joe Newman’s vocals are often partially obscured, sitting deep in the mix, almost a textural instrument rather than a vehicle for lyrical ideas. The song feels, at moments, like you are hearing it from deep underwater - appropriate, not only for the swimming conceit but for the gulf of uncrossable distance between the song’s subject and the object of its affection. “Adeline” is more than tinged with sadness - melancholy drives the track from its opening notes, the lyrics offering little hope of success in the romantic premise. In the opening verse, Newman sings “Down in Tasmania / where the devil’s jaws are far too weak / to tear you away.” Far more in line with first release “3WW” than “In Cold Blood,” “Adeline” is a slow, patient build that doesn’t shy away from its emotional core. It’s marked by restraint; the buildups in the latter half of the nearly six-minute track culminate not in climactic explosions of joy but in quiet relinquishments. “Swim on,” Newman almost whispers, “I wish you well.” It takes a few listens to really get it, to get over the distance of Newman’s vocals. He sings not as himself, but on behalf of another through an insurmountable barrier. But underneath the pensive lyrics, the opening, jungle-esque sounds give way to a driving heartbeat of drums around the two-minute mark that, while distant and muffled, carry the weight of the gorgeous orchestration resting above. That orchestration is key to the slowly forming picture of alt-J’s upcoming album, Relaxer. The band’s first two albums, An Awesome Wave and This Is All Yours, are marked by forward, present, often syncopated drums and a sparse instrument set driven primarily by Newman’s guitar licks and Gus Unger-Hamilton’s keyboards. With Relaxer, alt-J seems to be augmenting its arrangements with the introduction of live horn and string sections into their mixes. “Adeline” demands more of its listeners than “3WW,” and the end result is a song that reveals itself to be imbued with depth and beauty - and profound sadness - slowly, on each repeated listen. To a certain degree, the fact that it’s a Tasmanian devil who is hopelessly in love is a subversive choice; it abstracts the sadness of the piece away from the over-trodden veins of the traditional love song. “Adeline” works because that heartache is characterized not by conventional unrequitedness but by an immediate, visceral understanding of an insurmountable difference.

You should review chrono cross its a really fun game in my opinion with multiple endings and different characters to recruit like you get to choose who you want on your team big final fantasy vibes.
Man this really broke my heart. A lot of these games seemed awesome but I can't play any of them tell I get a new switch, in do time, because unfortunately last Friday someone stole my OLED switch out of my car, what made it worse was that it was customed skinned and had your satisfy special edition grip and case. My son was even more sad, but mostly for me😂 gotta say though, thank you for the content, the laughs are healthy. 😂
I just spent $500 on games from play asia just for switch, but it was totally worth it. Got tons of games and many Asian versions of games since they have English on the cartridge.
is that ff9 edition a remastered?? the charaters outline seem sharp. I LOVE that game too, such a vibe. The theme was also a bit lighter than ff7 and 8, which isnt a bad thing when you're a kid

I'm not going to beat around the bush. It's impossible to get more than 3 hours of entertainment out of that game.

I also loved Eastward! The physical game also includes some stickers inside!
I really love how your videos are pieced together!!!! great video as always
I would recommend Eastward to anyone that hasn't played it yet. So impressive that it was developed by only 2 students out of Korea.
Alba is an incredible game, art style is beautiful and fun simple story
I buy from Playasia all the time. They're so great. I love them! You have to make sure it says in stock or know when they expect it in their warehouse or if it's a preorder.

I loved this video wish it was longer so that we could see more gameplay of those games. I would love to see review video for some of those games.
Yeah the h-word vs evil one
I've played Vall Halla. It's a really good visual novel of you're into that sort of thing.
The all Japanese game with the cat guy on it is called "tasogare ni nemuru machi" which translates to city sleeping in the twilight
Alba is made by an English company, UsTwo, they also made Monument Valley. 🙂
Wood’s screems of terror when seeing the anime wifu are amazing
I always preferred FF9 as well. It's my favourite of the PS1 final fantasy games. So good.
