Hi Britta, well, the art fair…it was different than I expected. I did sell 3 big pieces and about 10 small pieces. But, I’d put in a little box of junk journal style postcards, with sewing, little tabs and a bit of inking. Well folk loved them. I only put them out as there was a space. I would do it again, but set up very differently. It was a very fun day and it flew in. I met lots of lovely people. 🥰🥳🥰

I had one in Sept, in our neighborhood, and I can relate to the hours of prep, not to mention a couple of hours just to pick out what to present, then matting, framing, bagging, and what to use to display. I think my video show was better than my fair stall show. I hadn’t considered presentation enough. I learned less is more. I think them being in a box maybe devalued them. Next time I would showcase 2 or 3 and lay out some cheaper crafts. I’m gonna do a quick follow up video, I’m just aware TH-cam mainly wants gel plate videos from me 🤪😂. Same here, I had mine in boxes and people just didn't want to stop and flip through them. I also realized when I set up that I had no signs made up with types & prices, so I made some on the fly which were less than stellar :-) But we'll know next time. @@quirkyqueens

Michelle, sorry I took so long. I’ve been ill and it’s bad timing with trying to get everything ready. I spent 3-4 days and £160. But it was worth it. It’s great to see a finished piece. I hope I have some good sales, or at least some interest.

You have some OUTSTANDING prints there!! Your work has a distinctive but not redundant style, very appealing to my eye! Whether collage or gel print you've got a real feel for color and composition. You deserve to do well at the art fair!

@quirkyqueens Yes, giving a small discount is perfect for multiples. Especially on larger pieces. Give out cards or flyers with your TH-cam Channel and ETSY if you can. Setting prices is always difficult when you start selling. I prefer to buy art straight from the artist. Get people talking cuz that helps. So exciting!!!

I spent a lot of money, but it was worth it. Id bought a few before, but they dented easily or felt a little flimsy. However, these ones feel sturdy and not cheap. These came as complete kits too with frame, back board and plastic bag. I hope this helps.
Hi, not as yet. I have an eBay shop in the UK where I sell second hand books (which is the starting point that led me to the gel plate via junk journals). I do plan to add some pictures to this. I’m also considering a small (aka basic as possible) website as TH-cam will accept some as attached shops. I’m glad it showed up on your feed too…and that you took the time to watch it!!! Thank you 😁
Fabulous work.. It's so nice to see the work you have created all in the mounts and as a whole collection.. I hope you did well?.. Can I ask what size frames you purchased to the size of the gel plate as i find it really annoying that the standard gel plate of 8x10 leaves a wonky boarder and edge which ideally I would like to mask.. I hope that makes sense?
Hi Victoria, it makes total sense. It is very annoying that edge!! I use 8 x10 too. I bought a lot of mount boards (they’re much more expensive than they should be). Size was a bit hit and miss. None really fitted well, I either lost a lot or had white edges showing. I haven’t kept the packaging. I also found they didn’t fit most standard picture frames either. My ideal size ended up being a sort of a5 hole to fit an a4 frame. So you lose a lot of the gel print, but can choose the best part. For the future I’d like to buy one of those bevelled edge cutters so I can cut the hole to suit the gel print from thick a3 card. So it suits gel print and frame. Apologies this is so long. I also think I listed the Amazon UK seller I purchased from in the description.

Hi Ashley, this is my first fair. I’m still deciding on amount. I’m probably gonna keep a couple of full boxes under the table…for the queues out the door to buy my artwork 😂 Speaking with other folk going to the fair it seems some are just hanging a big painting or 2 for sale. Others have gotten items such as calendars and cushions made (I think this is a lot of up front cost, maybe after a few fairs I would consider this). Some have crafty Christmas items. I don’t think you need many pieces. I paid £30 for a table, so hoping to recoup that and gain experience from watching around. I’m probably gonna put approx 10 on the table. I think more than that will reduce impact. The fairs tomorrow so I will let you know how it goes, I’ll try put some photos on TH-cam community too.

Hi, not as yet. I have an eBay shop in the UK where I sell second hand books (which is the starting point that led me to the gel plate via junk journals). I do plan to add some pictures to this. I’m also considering a small (aka basic as possible) website as TH-cam will accept some as attached shops.

Can I ask what size frames you purchased to the size of the gel plate as i find it really annoying that the standard gel plate of 8x10 leaves a wonky boarder and edge which ideally I would like to mask.. I hope that makes sense?
Hi Victoria, it makes total sense. It is very annoying that edge!! I use 8 x10 too.
I bought a lot of mount boards (they’re much more expensive than they should be). Size was a bit hit and miss. None really fitted well, I either lost a lot or had white edges showing. I haven’t kept the packaging. I also found they didn’t fit most standard picture frames either.
My ideal size ended up being a sort of a5 hole to fit an a4 frame.
So you lose a lot of the gel print, but can choose the best part.
For the future I’d like to buy one of those bevelled edge cutters so I can cut the hole to suit the gel print from thick a3 card.
So it suits gel print and frame.

How many pieces are you bringing? Thinking of doing an art fair but I have no idea how many pieces I would need to have.
Hi Ashley, this is my first fair. I’m still deciding on amount. I’m probably gonna keep a couple of full boxes under the table…for the queues out the door to buy my artwork 😂
Speaking with other folk going to the fair it seems some are just hanging a big painting or 2 for sale.
Others have gotten items such as calendars and cushions made (I think this is a lot of up front cost, maybe after a few fairs I would consider this).
Some have crafty Christmas items.
I don’t think you need many pieces. I paid £30 for a table, so hoping to recoup that and gain experience from watching around.
I’m probably gonna put approx 10 on the table. I think more than that will reduce impact.
The fairs tomorrow so I will let you know how it goes, I’ll try put some photos on TH-cam community too.

Hi Vanessa, you’ve made my day!! I did try Etsy for about a week. I received a lot of spam questions in it which was off putting, so I left. I’m thinking of a kofi shop or adding to my eBay book shop. Are you in the uk?
