Hi Ceri! I'm delighted to have finally found you!
I started watching junk journal videos around 18 months ago, largely in response to the lock downs and the need to find entertainment that WASN'T another mindless television program or movie. I slowly started making simple journals a little over a year ago, and now enjoy following Angela Kerr, Tracie Fox, Andrea Allen, Carol Parker, and Gi Kerr, to name a few super talented people, and making journals along with them. I recently watched a month-long collaboration in which one of the crafters mentioned Gayle A. Always eager to learn from another expert, I started watching her about 6 weeks ago - isn't she a treasure? A couple times she mentioned her dear friend Ceri, but didn't spell the name. So off I went in search of Kerry, Cary, Kari, etc., etc. and eventually gave up, thinking that maybe you were part of an exclusive club. Imagine my surprise when a couple days ago, after Gayle 's video ended, one of your videos began to play! I was delighted to finally discover Ceri the Crafter, and have been binge watching your channel ever since! You are such a delight!
I was deeply moved by your July 4th video and was deeply moved by it, and heartsick and sad about the whole experience. Gun rights vs. gun control is such a powder keg issue in the US ( no pun intended) and although I sort of understand both sides of the issue, what I know for sure is that along with the right to own a gun should go the responsibility to use it wisely. Also I agree with you that it is impossible to understand why anyone in a "civilized" society needs to own a military grade weapon. This is madness, but I'm just one small voice. All I can add is that I'm terribly sad & sorry that America showed you its uglier side, and ruined your vacation.

Love the boxes! I’m a lifelong box hoarder (inherited from my Mother) and can’t stand to get rid of them. This is a great way to use them! Thanks for the inspiration.

Great ideas, Ceri! Even for those of us who haven't ventured into Gel prints yet. These ideas are wonderful for using up some of our left over papers and cardstock. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤
Definitely and theres plenty of napkins and printed tissue on the market at the moment that you could utilise.
Thank you for this talk Ceri, it was very interesting. For me I'm confused about the matt medium, I'm relatively new to this, it appears to be used like a glue and a sealer, and if is should be put over everything at the end to seal it. I've only just recently started to make journals and love it and all the creativity that goes with it, now I really want to try gelli printing, there are just so many fun possibilities.
Thank you, Matt medium is used exactly as you mentioned although there are many brands and types, I normally use it for my mixed media pieces and collage, I’m not sure I use it for my journalling other than using it for covers………..but in saying that I use it when I feel its required.

Oh my goodness. I was looking for another of your videos and clicked this by mistake but was hooked immediately!! I have never done geli printing but I HAVE to try it now! Just be aware not every print will be fabulous and then sometimes that magic just happens, enjoy the process, after all its just paper and paint but the time out is the most valuable thing about the process.

Love your gullies and thanks for all the fun (and useful) ideas! One more suggestion: I have an embossing machine and love creating journal pockets, belly bands and page borders with gelli prints that are embossed or die cut! ❤

Jeanne, make sure you watch other people as well as I’m still on my journey of discovery with my gel printing and I know there are some fabulous things you can do with it.
Wow, I wouldn’t have thought about using them for photo backgrounds. I would have never considered putting a complicated print on top of a complicated print. When you flipped it to the white side it really was a stunning difference. I’m going to use that idea for sure. thanks

Thank you, I find that if I’m always making things for the camera then the magic goes out of the process for me so I’ve always got a private art journal or project on the go which I sometimes share the end result but not the process. It give me the chance to play without an audience.

Thank you so much. I have just this week ventured into gel printing, and have yet to get a good grasp of it between the variety of papers, paints, etc. I had not considered making strips with the prints I'm not satisfied with.
They just add a splash of colour in a strip.

Wow!!!!! Ceri, I just discovered you on TH-cam last week and have watched several of your demo videos. Love them. And then I came across this video, and you blew me away!!!!!
Although it was a fun, great experience making prints, I stopped making them because I didn’t know what to do with the stack I accumulated. While I’ve watched other videos on the topic of using prints, none compares to this one. You’ve given so many “useful” ideas in this one brief video that my mind is full of ideas now. I’m so impressed that I’m subscribing to your channel and I’m feeling giddy about making prints again. 🤭 Thank you so much!!!

Gayle A. was the first person I learned how to do altered books from years ago. Belly bands, tags, tucks & more! Thanks to her, I created an altered Golden Book from Twas the Night before 🎄🎅🏼🤶🎁🛍️using lots of fun Christmas scrapbook papers. My grandma used to read it to us as kids, so it brings me great joy flipping through it. Now I have MORE fun ideas to use all my gorgeous Gelli prints that I can’t bear to tear up for collage!
