So why didn't you play it plugged in. For the people who asked various questions, it's a 25.5" scale. This one isn't chrome plated or anodized like most of the later Velenos and it is a three knob. The only other three knob Veleno I've ever seen was one owned by Mark Farner. Mark had both 3 and 4 knob Velenos and used both on the Shining On tour.
I love Marc and this video would've been a lot better if you could've shared a picture or a video of Marc playing this guitar. If you plugged the guitar in and played it would've been a plus.
The most expensive I ever played was owned by Marc Bolan. After he died, all his gear was stored in a cellar at his solicitor’s where I worked in Chancery Lane, London, and I spent a pleasant hour down there playing this aluminium beauty!
Hi l own the original Pete haycocks gold veleno from the climax blues band. Mine is no 14. Because John sadly passed away I been in contact with his son Chris veleno about my legendary guitar
I was offered one of these VELENO Guitars back in the 80's for 'free'! - Some guy at a gig i was doing came up to me and said he had this Guitar and could have it if i wanted it? - The next day i checked it out, but i'm sorry to say that i did not like it coz i thought it too shiny! - I have regretted that day all my life! - I actually got to know Marc Bolan back in the 70's as i was a big fan, but even knowing he had one of your Guitars i still should have accepted this guy's free offer of an original VELENO guitar - Sigh - :(
Hey Jeff Nolan, do you guys have Mick Ronsons Les Paul? I believe it's bolted to your Sydney restaurant. That guitar needs to be put in your guys museum like pronto!
A guitar Kurt Cobain used when he was recording the in utero album. He didn’t use any other guitar to record the album, not even his famous mustang, jaguar, jag-stand or vandalism strat(which was destroyed in France
Haven't seen any footage of Bolan playing his Veleno. He's better known for his Les Paul. Keith Levene of the Clash and PiL had one that he played a lot but it was stolen. He plays it on the Public Image video.
he stuck to his strat and LP mainly, yet he has been seen playing flying v's, sg's, i think tele's and his gorgeous zemaitis (super rare as well) but the veleno is gorgeous and i want one so badly, i wonder how much it would cost to make one?
Just to note that he actually used a Telecaster to record most of Electric Warrior and those earlier T. Rex singles, and supposedly a fair amount on The Slider. He just liked the look of Strats and Les Pauls better (and Flying Vs, etc...), so used them live. But most of that early T. Rex sound is actually a Tele, not a Strat or Les Paul. Not sure about the Veleno - there are a couple television performances with it, but not sure if he ever recorded with it (someone should ask Tony Visconti next time he does some Q&A thing), but I wouldn't be surprised if it pops up a few times on The Slider (according to Visconti, he pulled out a bunch more guitars for that than for EW).
Love the way the yanks say Aloominum instead of Alyouminium. Anyway, this IS informative and at first I did not recognise the guitar. Bit I think I have seen it here on Yootoob In the Buick Mackane vid made for an early 70's U.S promotional tour.
Good God, get the camera in friggin focus. Showcasing legendary guitars is not the time for your film school intern to get "creative". And plug the damn thing in and play it already. It's insured.
that guitar is marc bolan to the core

Jeff Lyn from E.L.O borrowed that guitar for top of the pops doing showdown .

I would like to buy this Marc Bolans guitar if it ever comes up for sale….serious buyer here
And videos of him playing children of the revolution with this guitar
These YT clips of famous guitars are a bit annoying. They are all electric guitars but these guys are not plugging them in!

Marc Bolan can be seen with T.Rex on TH-cam, strutting his stuff with that guitar, while performing 'Buick Mackane'.

It looks nice and cool.

Jeff Lynn plays the same guitar on top of the pops / show down.
I've always thought exactly the opposite haha.
Karl Armstrong I think you’re right, they were mates.
Would have been better to hear it plugged in
No doubt you are right about some points, and entirely ignorant in your complaints. That is ignorant of the true facts
Aluminium. *cough cough* :-)
Bolans real first name was actually 'Mark', not 'Marc'.
Mark Feld's first name was Mark, but Marc Bolan's first name was Bolan.
Eh?
@@friendlier do you remember your first. DIME
Altogether now AL-YOU-MINI-UM

My ex wife's brother has one and he's not interesting in the slightest.
