This system saves me 50 $ of fuel a year and cost me 450$ of battery every 3 years and wear out the engine and started adding even lot more to the cost... In short is is a system that COST you a LOT more money then the small fuel saving. Also here we have 9 months of cold winters and slightly less cold summers where you need to keep the engine running to keep it at operating temperature anyway.

i don't know anybody who doesn't turn it off every time. it's a "make the brand mechanics and replacement parts department richer" function

Gotta love Carly or any other OBD tool that can disable auto start/stop bs so I don't have to push that button every time I jump in my car
Only push it when I want it back on, not that I ever had to since coding it out lol

Auto stop start is the same as pop up ads it's just annoying 😑 why don't they a selective feature that you can switch on or off permanently so that the driver can decide if he wants to use it or not?

despite the faster wear and replacement of mechanical parts, do you think producing more lead-acid batteries and more lead waste due to shorter battery life really worth the fuel and emission economy? Compared to the lead pollution we create, reducing fuel consumption and emission levels is hardly worth mentioning.

Unless you dump the lead batteries in nature instead of selling the lead in them you are not creating led pollution ... Anyway this system cost you a lot more in wear on battery, starter and engine then you will ever save on fuel.

@a64738 which country do you think follow the waste rules? European, belgium, germany? What about the others, like my country, turkey... 🙂

@a64738 also dont forget abut making new or RECYCLING lead acid batteries create pollution. Recycling doesnt mean to be safe for environment.

Man I love saving 3-10% of $100-$150 per month so I can then put that into the $300 battery I need for it.

I never use the auto start/stop system. I always turn it off. I got tired of listening to your repeat yourself so I don’t know whether you mentioned that the Hybrid vehicles do not have a starter motor, hence there is no wear and tear on a starter. And also the 12 volt battery in a Hybrid vehicle is not used to start the vehicle. It is used just to “wake up” the system and then the Hybrid battery takes over.
The bottom line is that it’s not that fuel efficient on a hybrid and it’s more of a nuisance. So like I said, I’ll leave my system off all the time.

You are repeating yourself a lot, and fail to mention the biggest problem of increased engine wear and reduced engine life. Every engine start occurs with reduced lubrication, compared to normal operation
