For anybody aiming to heal, and currently living on the northern hemisphere of planet earth, my personal tip would be growing. Grow tomatoes, grow your favorite marijuana strain if you into that, grow something. Working with soil, learning about how a plant grows, and taking care of it is a great way to discipline yourself. You learn a lot while trying to grow something out of a seed. It is an experience and can be a real spiritual one. NATURE is the greatest teacher we forgot about.

Oh you are so right, and I hope everyone will take your advice! One of the things I'm dealing with is physical disability that keeps me from gardening (or taking long hikes with my dog, or collecting firewood). Digging, feeling the soil and the sunshine, cultivating nurturing something and watching it grow, some of my happiest and most healing times. It is one of many losses I am dealing with but that is not the point, the point is that you are so right and I hope everyone takes your advice who is able.

@@succytash same here, dealing with health issues that have contributed to depression, anxiety, fight, flight, fawn and freeze-conditioning. Trying to find a way how to heal and support my mental health despite physical suffering. It's the hardest thing, but just watching these videos help me to differentiate and separate what i possibly can do to makes myself feel at least somewhat better. Just so i can be better at being my own best friend i suppose. Learning a way in which i could better deal with all of it... :) i think even disabled people can find a creative way to grow something... just learning to ask help so that we can get out there and be in the sun, be more involved, more active and not feel ashamed of our own lives i think would be a good starting point! :)

afakkob yab Excellent advice. I’m currently enjoying my tomatoes and flowers I planted several months ago, when I last watched this video. 🥰 Beauty and joy are all around, we just have to learn to cultivate it for ourselves. 🐛🦋

I actually planted a garden literally and figuratively the day I walked away from my narcissistic abusive relationship, it's a good reminder of my daily commitment to self care, watching progress over time, and dealing with the frustration of the unexpected, pests, weather, the specific temperaments of each plant. If you really want to learn patience and discipline try cactus from seed. Holy hell, it's wonder any of them make it to mature plant hood.

So this morning up early intentions in place ....road map for the day planned .
    Then it hit me !!!!
Richard you keep speaking about flashbacks I thought it was a occasional thought from the past .....
well it's only hit me this morning when I started to do this programme that mine is like a running commentary as I try to function daily .Its like a computer virus running in the background I didn't even know it was happening till I went into complete focus with intention .
So I have been multitasking before it was a thing !!!!!
With the task in hand and also the flashback on rewind 24/7
WOW This has truly opened my eyes .
Thank You Richard ......Onwards & Upwards .

what I realised just now is that the reason therapy helped me was not because of things I was told there but because I wanted to please my therapist by showing up each week with a list of things I did to make myself feel and fucntion better. Not ideal, I'm still a huuuge people pleaser but I at least made myself get in a state that is far from depression just by remembering to eat, sleep, take a shower, take care of responsibilities before they pile up

I've been chaotic and unorganized my whole life, and never found anything that could help me with the basics to how to get disciplined. Until I found this Fortress Tutorial. Thank you. I love that it's simple, practical, and that there is no "motivational" nonsense (like you have to be "great", "the strongest", "most epic", or stupid motivation stories that don't get you anywhere). I've already quit weed months ago, all by myself, and after watching this I'm glad I did it. But there is still so much work to do. I need to learn how to FOCUS again, like a fucking kid. lol. And your stuff is so helpful on that. =)

Toughing it out with cathartic sweats and tears. It is a bitter pill more often than not, but a surefire cure.
Focus is key. Getting up with sunrise light through translucent-curtained windows is less jolting than an alarm.
Following this channel in the areas I find myself weak the evening before bedtime to be processed during sleep is what I found useful.

Yes! The thing I have greatly underestimated in my healing process and overall in my life (obviously they go together as it is a result of trauma) turned out to be elementary in my healing - structure, and discipline. There is a time for complexity and depth and there is one as relevant, that needs to be oriented around the simple things like structure and discipline.

I'm learning and its working🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 flash backs are down, connection to the last narcisist almost gone complitly....wow!
My son, for the first time in his 16 years and many professionals trying to talk to him and him refusing to hear anything, before they even start, is listening to your program.... this one!!!😲 Autism, PTSD, OCD, to name just a few.😔 He is being calmed down by your voice and your presentation. I'm bit scared to be this excited. So greatfull, beyond words.
And also🤣.... how are you so good at imitating people.
I literally go back to see it again, in this case, the drunken voice. Never stop being silly. Thank you for your amazing work, you are changing lives, saving lives even. God bless! That's all I can say... So greatfull.
If you haven't been through what you've been through, you'd never be helping all of us. When you can finily step back and see the whole picture of this earthly experience, you can observe the miracle and the grace of life, and think to your self, all the pain, chelanges, struggle... somehow.... it all made sense at the end.

Only my second day of setting my alarm for 5 days and it is probably the most hopeful I felt in 20 years. Your videos are life changing to me. I noticed I had been emotionally abusive to ONE person in my life and only that one person (who had cause many triggers in me), it was a wake up call that I was in fight mode and it was the only time I had been as the other times had been the 3 other F's. I’m writing here as there is a slight change Richard might read this. I bought the bulk pack of your courses and am working my way through them before I buy the bulk pack of 4 new courses. Thanks for selling these at a reasonable price. I’m finding them really helpful as I dig my way out of this cluster fuck and gain a toe hold on life.
One Question though. In some of your courses you mentioned that you made a lot of progress in your own recovery when you did a month or so of deep self evaluation. This sounded really interesting. When I contemplate doing it I believe I would find a course on it of benefit as I don’t know what I don’t know and questions and insights that a course or book might raise could elucidate aspects of myself that I am currently unaware are weird or unhelpful.

I did everything because I should, I had to, was expected to etc. by extremely strict parents, teachers in an eastern-european strict school-system, abusive church, abusive husband. Order, order, order. Now that I am becoming more free, I am beginning to experience more and more relaxation, freedom and creativity, because I allow myself to do what I want at times. Is it possible that we are different at this point?

Hi Richard, hello y'all. First of all, awesome content mate, this is heavy gold you are providing. I just wanted to add something in relation to the eating part. I just took a course on Introduction to Food and Health by Stanford U at Coursera, I won't leave the link here to avoid the spamming thing, just google it, it's free and extremely easy, I think you could make it in a single go. It focuses on teaching eating methods not to increase or lose weight, but in developing healthy eating habits to avoid diseases in the long run such as diabetes, kidneys diseases, and the list goes on. You would be impressed. I thought it could work when getting into this routine. Again, awesome content Richard. Also, I wanted to know your stand on smoking weed. I realized I've been smoking weed like cigarettes but I' just managed to cut it, but with this load, it gets heavy no to want to puff puff at least once a day. Best,

There's some little things I see that I don't fully agree with, but everyone is different and I can understand why it was added in the video the way it was, for completeness sake.
Not everyone needs 8 hours of sleep, and some people just don't function right by sleeping so much. For most geeks and hackers, I'd generally say to go to bed when you're tired and get rid of any distractions. Yes, the average person may be able to fall asleep within 15 minutes, but depending on if you suffer from issues that are not psychological, this may take longer. A *lot* of people cheat with sleeping aids, melatonin (this has it's uses, but people rely on it too much) and so on. I feel the best way to go about such in a non-invasive way is putting yourself in delta state.
Another observation in a different video you mentioned brain waves and such weren't valid/dysregulation was caused by being locked up in mental states. If anyone researches neurofeedback you'd see that this isn't the case. I'd argue that if you're dysregulated and you've never felt happy, making sure that your brain waves are in the correct functioning order, and allowing yourself to feel and be happy is the first step to acknowledging you can feel that way in the first place. Then work backwards on how to get there on your own.

Random fact : if you put a whatever color shirt or panties or socks in a washing machine with some red clothing and the red clothing fades and stains the other pieces of clothing, the only parts that are going to keep their original color are lace and parts previously soaked in sweat (like in the armpit area).
