You can’t “reverse course” 6 months before release. Creatively, very few minor changes can be made the last year of development. With that being said, I personally think they nailed the horror.
@@jarde1989 sure they can, if they removed the gore then add it back, if they made the monsters look less scary then they make it so they aren’t. There are a lot of small things you can do that would change the significance of the horror. Lighting ,less fog and more visibility, etc.

I hope they kept the multiple endings, UFO ending and being able to unlock the chainsaw like the original. Happy playing brother.
Hey Hollow, I really enjoy watching you for a while now, you're actually one of my favorite horror gamers on YT. I usually don't comment but I have to point something out here. I enjoy it way more when you're not cutting your playthroughs a lot and it was VERY noticable here, I don't mind cutting but the cuts actually threw me off in this one. I don't mind if you're getting lost while playing, walking to the same spot 10 times.. even if the video is longer I do like seeing the entire experience - not cropped down. Just thought I should let you know and you're probably not gonna read this but yeah lol. Still loving it tho!
I agree.. I don't mind if the videos longer, I like to see the whole game.. not just certain parts of the game. I hope Hollow reads this! Either way.. I look forward to the next part. :3
FINALLY!!!! Been waiting for this LITERALLY FOREVER!! But it’s a crime to be playing this with an Xbox controller lol. Here’s to hoping my guy plays 1, 3, and 4 (OG) next!!
Ahh, I remember back when PS2 released this game, and I played the OG SH2! I was lost in the fog and found a deep look into the human condition once I put all the pieces together. It was so heartbreaking and evolutionary for healing trauma. Even those that have never thought about therapy as an option will find games like this…truly healing! James…damn… he has so much hidden trying to emerge. Angela, Eddie, Laura…then Maria…all necessary to to integrate his shadow
Silent Hill is basically a self adapting purgatory. It's not an abandoned town. Silent Hill sits on a font of some sort of power that has the ability to manifest the will of those harnessing it. Each experience is different for those who manage to go there.

When it comes to survival horror games, Silent Hill 2 is one of my most precious childhood memories. It is awesome to see this game through the eyes of someone who is not familiar with the story. I hope you enjoy it 😊. And I'm so glad that you like the soundtrack because it is and has always been an essential part of the atmosphere in the Silent Hill franchise, especially in the first four games.
One of my favourite things about this game is the love-letter to the PS2 through the sound design, there's so much SFX reminiscent of both the original game and PS2 menu sounds, it's peak nostalgia.

you forgot that the enemies in the silent hill never die.. they just have a knockout cooldown before they get up again.. it is an endless loop. if you come back again in certain location, they will respawn again. that's how the game works in silent hill

It takes a lot more work to just "add it back" than what you are implying. 6 months isnt a lot of time to do anything that you said. It doesnt matter anyway, because I have no idea where you heard "tuned back the horror for a more modern audience", because it simply isnt true. They didnt do that.

You can usually remove easily… you may even increase enemy count…
You can’t ADD new things/events or overhaul the atmosphere without heavily driving up QA time and pushing back deadlines or launching unpolished.
I understand your argument with small tweaks but that only applies if the foundation was designed in a ways that those changes would matter.
With all the being said… the game is amazing and creepy af.
So looking forward to this. My husband and I Played this in the long long ago. Now we are letting our daughter play it and i watch. So until she finishes it i cant watch this whole vid. But I must hear Hollow’s commentary. He is the GOAT! ❤
Here we go! Was waiting for this!
يا رجال احب مقاطعك احب انه يلعب كل الألعاب كنت متوقعه مليون بالمية انه راح يلعبها انت أسطورة ♥️♥️♥️♥️
I did not believe it would actually come out, what a game deserving a remake
I remember being about 6 years old, watching my older brother play the original silent hill on his playstation in the complete dark. This reminds me of those times. Thanks for the good feelin’, Hollow!
being afraid to stick your arm in the hole and just getting a number was def my ALL time fav reaction funny moments I have ever seen by you Hallow! I had to clip it omg XDDDD
I was one of those kids playing both Resident Evil and Silent Hill when they cam out. Now as a 40 year old it brings a new fear playing this. Not only are the graphics picture perfect but playing this with headphones brings a new experience. Being able to hear every detail now unlocks a new fear.
Dude you are on point. Really enjoying these long videos. I appreciate how quickly you get these out man
FINALLY!!!! Been waiting for this LITERALLY FOREVER!! But it’s a crime to be playing this with an Xbox controller lol.
Here’s to hoping my guy plays 1, 3, and 4 (OG) next!!
Great walkthrough with commentary. Looking forward to the next parts!
Yes sir! This is gonna be a good playthrough, appreciate you!
I remember playing this on PS2 and now the graphics look this good.
I'm so happy this is your first silent Hill experience, I hope they remaster Silent Hill 4 The Room.
Silent Hill is basically a self adapting purgatory. It's not an abandoned town. Silent Hill sits on a font of some sort of power that has the ability to manifest the will of those harnessing it. Each experience is different for those who manage to go there.
Hollow coming up with a detailed story for what happened in the town is making this even better than I expected.
The og is so dear to me man glad to see you play it
Hi!!! I’m a original silent hill, resident evil fan and I just have to say I’m very excited to watch this now!!! The graphics are so beautiful and the clarity is so nice but will also make the monsters more terrifying! I’m glad you can experience this game and I’m excited to watch you play it. Thank you for what you do I love your videos 🖤🖤🖤
I screamed when u missed the cash register in Cafe tex 😂
my jaw was just hanging there for a minute this game truly is stunning oh my
So hyped!!!! Literally drawing James Sunderland while watching your stream 🎉 my game is hopefully going to be delivered tomorrow ❤
Early gang, wooo let’s go Silent Hill 2 Remake
So different from Resident Evil with its threats. Resident Evil’s threats are Biological Silent Hill’s threats are all Mystical.
Loved this game when it was released like 20 years ago. I'm glad you are sharing this experience and I get to almost relive it once more. And I appreciate that you are really exploring the town of Silent Hill (not just running through it)
Soundtrack so beautiful
Akira yamaoka is a musical horror genius.
Nice finally Hollow with the videos of Silent Hill 2 and so it begins! Hope you'll have fun with this game 😁
I have never heard the term ‘flower juice’ and it made me chuckle more than it should have.
He be funny sometimes 😅
Yes!!!!! Finally, you play Silent Hill 2 remake. Ive been waiting for you to experience this masterpiece. Been looking forward to more of this. Thanks hollow

i love you hollow i was just waiting for you to play silent hill 2 THANK YOUUUUU
I’ve been ignoring every suggestion to watch this gameplay till you uploaded your play through 😂 I’m so excited. My Sunday is starting off pretty good now.
Who suggested? Your imaginary friend? 😂
@@challenger516 TH-cam suggested other yt channels 🥴. You thought you did something there. Congrats
@@UnknownBlob-cv9ez Go out and touch some grass, nerd 😂
Hollow brother you probably won’t see this but it doesn’t hurt to put positive energy into the air. I haven’t watched you in years and love story games, remember watching you play destiny 1 when I was a kid, no I’m about to turn 21 and am so happy to see you more personalized and just a genuine eff-ing gamer that just. Plays. Games. Nothing more or nothing less. Going to resubscribe as you’re one of the last actual definition of a TH-camr to me that’s still active on the platform (Never unsubbed from not liking you just stopped being on this platform for a long ass time) . Hope you’re healthy and all your friends and families around you are prospering. Can’t wait to watch you play more games. Currently watching you mass effect legendary playthrough as I’m personally replaying it for the third time lol.
Edit: I see you only uploaded one part to the playthrough :(
I can’t watch it. This game is a must play experience 😭
Bloober team giving us old silent hill vibes but updated to today this does not disappoint.
Let’s goooo I’m so hyped for this game
Hey Hollow great video, I hope that youre doing alright with all that hurricane stuff sending prayers to you and your family.
There you go!!!
I've been waiting for you to play this before I watched any new or old play through of this game! So excited to see ot for the first time all the way through with you as a gamer!!!!
What do you mean by what is that? 29:45 It is just a drunk woman in a gimp suit and you murdered the poor thing! 🤣
Lmaoooo
i cannot stress how much your voice calms my nerves. perfect for this game.
I’m on 1:25:49 and I can’t wait to see what he thinks of the leggy bois 😂😂
AHHHHHHHHHHHH This is going to be freaking awesome!!!! Thank you hollow for dropping this content!!
My heart feels hollow today
Ohhh man I’ve been waiting for this! Remember playing the OG silent hill games back in the day not buying a ps5 just for this tho so I’m gonna live this game though you hope you love this game as much as I did growing up
I wish you would do a review after finishing a playthrough. Maybe not needing a score but just your general thoughts
you forgot that the enemies in the silent hill never die.. they just have a knockout cooldown before they get up again.. it is an endless loop. if you come back again in certain location, they will respawn again. that's how the game works in silent hill
That " Mary where are ya babe, stop fucking around " was so cute 🤣🤣🤣
😊
Breaks every random shop window and car window but ignores every cop car lol 👍
Best day to upload
I love that they added a lot more details and new puzzles! The jukebox wasn’t in the original game. And now you can break windows! I think it’s a really cool addition
2:24:53 Part 2, Part 2!
This looks absolutely chilling! Sadly can't afford to buy it right now but I'll wait for steam deal. Great content!
Lol ur in the dark and u know that you get scared quickly 😅😂
I actually like the camera lighting dimmer like how you have it in this video. Feels more chill/comfy.
@6:23 they did such a phenomenal job of the graphics.
Literally staring at the same tree 5 plonked into the ground, not even rotated slightly
Shit like this annoys me so much
