Dark Souls 3 really was when FromSoft perfected the Dark Souls formula. After Bloodborne they made the combat and general gameplay faster without losing the elements that make it Dark Souls. Almost every boss in the game is great, and even the weakest bosses in the game are better than most from Dark Souls 1 and 2.

Nameless is way harder , nameless feels easier on multiple playthrough because it's like a sekiro boss you have to master the boss to beat him so when you fight him again it get easier not because the boss is easy but because you got good
My only gripe with it is that it is very linear in a progression sense, so you can't cheese the game like you can with the others, which makes for slightly less fun replays even though the bosses and aesthetics in it are really cool.

best ending to a trilogy for sure as it's the perfect closer. but out of the souls games i feel like more people would say ds1, elden ring or blodborne as they were more innovative. still my favourite though
Yeah, one "issue" it comes with (atleast for me) is that I cant really enjoy other games anymore. I still like some other games like recently Silent Hill 2 for example but the amount of joy I get out of those games isnt anywhere near the joy I get out of playing a From souls game for the first time. So basically other games are just a way to make the wait for the next From game easier to me lol.

No, Dark Souls 2.. because it has the official last giant. DS3 giant is a lie. And Nameless King is actually named Dragonrider king. And I will never beat him because I've only played the game 15 days and tried him 3 times. If I don't beat a boss in 3 to 5 tries I won't bother again as it's a gimmick

Apart from everything else, its pretty crazy how this game turns into a complete mindfuck about halfway through. "Is that fucking Anor Londo", "wait how am I back at firelink shrine and why am I fighting this dude again", "what the hell is Ornstein's armor doing here", and so on. At first we get somewhat derivative references, but they get both more obvious and more strange the further in you get. Eventually you get to the Dreg Heap and the game stops caring about any rules of space or time. Somehow the original DS1 firelink still exists just below the Earthen Peak from DS2. You realize Midir's arena looks familiar, go digging, and realize its the same spot where we saw the Furtive Pygmy in the DS1 opening cinematic. The Profaned Capital looks familiar, you go digging, and it turns out it was built on top of Eleum Loyce, which already pulled the "is that fucking Lost Izalith" bit in DS2.
Don’t forget “farron keep is Oolacile” legit oolacile is buried in swamp and ruins by the time of DS3. I agree it’s the most mind fuck game to ever exist lorewise that I’ve been exposed to.

@@LeftyPantaridis Honestly, most of my knowledge comes from trawling forums, blogs, Reddit threads, etc. IMO Elden Ring has many more lore videos and of much higher quality than Dark Souls has had, so I tend not to like the Dark Souls lore videos as much. Personally I like Hawkshaw's older videos, but SmoughTown is pretty good as well. Last Protagonist has a good video going over how some of the lore of the First Sin, the Curse, and the Profaned Flame had a lot of details that were lost in the English translation.

ds3 is also hands down the most replayable among the 3. the game having 3 endings, (4 if you count the hidden one) the majority of the NPCs having multiple-i guess you could call them endings as well, makes you curious how things would play out, honestly. like, you have so many options what to do on different playthroughs despite the game being mostly linear. you could get bored of it, sure but once you pick it back up, it just always hits man. cinema

I spent a long time playing PVP in DS3. I decided to take advantage of Poise as a meme but it worked so well. Sunlight spear, cast speed +3 charm, 60 faith, and enough poise to face tank great swords and you're in business. I made sure to hide my charm with the Estocs to keep them from knowing my shenanigans thinking I was just another 'one of those guys'. The satisfaction of them thinking they got one past me only to lose most of or their entire health bar was great.
I have the fondest memories playing Dark Souls 3. From the bosses, the subtle story telling, music, weapon mechanics, world design and call backs to the original, it was truly the culmination of fromsoftware’s works. Also the fight clubs were a nice cherry on top, was so cool being apart of something niche.

Having played all three, DS3 is without a doubt the most fun I've had in Dark Souls. I'm not sure if I feel it's the best, but no other games in the series (so far) has kept me as hooked

It has a lot going for it especially from ps3 era where most games were either generic fps games or like Batman archam style combat where you just mash away and auto correct to your next opponent while the other enemy’s stand there waiting to be combo’d. dark souls you actually have to put thought what buttons you press which was unique for the time especially, just go back to 2011 and think about how so many games were just mid fps games with no punishment or unique mechanics, it stood out for a reason

I don’t dislike all the souls games, I personally think the only good ones are ER and Sekiro rest of em are pretty bad, and all the modern FS games are massively overrated, at max even Sekiro and ER my favourite ones are 7/10 massively carried by aesthetics and music as the gameplay has only reached mediocre in terms of quality.
Idk how people consider 1 the best DS game. i really like the first half, but that last 30% is just not fun. i played it like 4 months ago and i remember in middle of the game i was so excited for a second play through with different weapons, but when i hit that point of the game, it just sucked every excitement and motivation i had for the second run.

I’ve been playing demons souls since it first came out and played all of the soulsborne games and made a lot of friends along the way. In my experience most people who played these games from Sekiro to Bloodborne most have said DS3 was the best and I agree
Friede is fair and reasonable while still being the hardest boss in DS3. Malenia is literally not hard at all except phase 2 rush down and the waterfowl dance.
Started the franchise with a preorder of the original demons souls when it was still unknown, played them all at launch and agree dark souls 3 is the best, especially with the dlc. The first game had too many issues, especially in the mid and late game, choppy and incomplete areas. 2nd is great but too different. 3rd was finally the cumulative best parts of a lot of what was great in their previous titles. It's a bit safe before the dlc but it was refreshing after the flaws of the first 2.

3 was my favorite. i think 1 might be like the "best" one, but 3 is def my fav.
Idk how people consider 1 the best DS game. i really like the first half, but that last 30% is just not fun. i played it like 4 months ago and i remember in middle of the game i was so excited for a second play through with different weapons, but when i hit that point of the game, it just sucked every excitement and motivation i had for the second run.

Dark Souls is my favorite, but Dark Souls III is pretty great and the final fight with Gael is cinema.

I find Dark Souls 3 the most fun for sure. But Dark Souls 1 has incredible level design and worldbuilding.
I’ve been playing demons souls since it first came out and played all of the soulsborne games and made a lot of friends along the way. In my experience most people who played these games from Sekiro to Bloodborne most have said DS3 was the best and I agree

Friede is fair and reasonable while still being the hardest boss in DS3. Malenia is literally not hard at all except phase 2 rush down and the waterfowl dance.
Malenia is not only just as cool if not cooler (and hotter) than Friede. She is also just as good of a boss

DS3 is the DS formula almost completely perfected
Started the franchise with a preorder of the original demons souls when it was still unknown, played them all at launch and agree dark souls 3 is the best, especially with the dlc. The first game had too many issues, especially in the mid and late game, choppy and incomplete areas. 2nd is great but too different. 3rd was finally the cumulative best parts of a lot of what was great in their previous titles. It's a bit safe before the dlc but it was refreshing after the flaws of the first 2.
in terms of like spectacle & scale I think ds3 is the peak in fromsoft games

They obviously had lightning in a bottle with Demon Souls, Dark Souls was honestly, good for the time but just doesn't hold up. They experimented in 2 and made some... choices. Some good! Some bad. And by 3, they'd really ironed out the formula. And they've really been making it fucking work since. 🔥🔥🔥

Anyone calling ds1 better than ds3 are blinded by nostalgia. Fantastic games with their own quirks but ds3 really built on the systems theyve had since 1, and everything is more appealing from the music to the level design

Lots of people just default and say DS1 is the best. I’ll agree it is a better adventure (world interconnectivity and such) but DS3 is just more fun and has the best bosses in any FromSoft game.
And most of the FS games have huge areas of the game that just suck. Even the swamp in this game isn’t that bad
