Bought a 21 sti in March '24 wi 8 n half k on the clock. Within 6 weeks i put on the following IAG AOS IAG oil pan/baffle/pu tube 4th cyl cooling mod Mishimoto radiator with mush stays GS red rad hoses Killer B thermo housing GS v2 BPV GS pitchstop mount Perrin master brake cyl brace Cobb AP only married just to watch the vitals. Ill get a pro tune in next 12mo just to tidy it up a little. I love it!
Sounds like you got a good list of mods! great longevity mods and cooling. Not big power but the pro tune on that set up will liven it up a little bit. Punchy set up , quick spooling.
@@mikeyboii1687just a fab shop can do the mod and machine it in. Depends where you live. I know know of 3 in Sydney. Turbos like Garrett, blouch, gtpumps, precision , fp are all great turbos for stis
2021 Sti here. Mods Cobb sf intake and titanium exhaust. My master for clutch went bad, lucky to have warranty. Same problem was also found bearing. Only 27000 miles on it. I found out talking to mechanics. Throwing the shifts hard will cause the problem. So take your time shifting don’t throw it in (not forcing but shifting too fast will cause the problem) or so I been told.
uh oh this one has been shifted pretty hard! i have alot of confidence in the 6 speed, but yes the clutch and throw out bearing may be weak point for abuse over long periods of time. Absolutely. Enjoy the 21 sti mane!
Thanks for the compliment mate! I've had the Sony a7C II since it came out, so maybe 6 months old for the camera. But did use a new lens for all the clips before the drive.

untrue last 5 where made in bodies in white in the USA during lockdown. this may have been the last STI mad ein japan delivered to "said country" but not the final. There are only 5 final call's which where made in laffyette indiana. And they where first come first serve with no announcement. so they are ultra rare and undocumented so even ahrder than hen's teeth to find. they came factory with every option and tuned for maximum from factory pushign 400 crank hp 340-360hp wheel maxing stock vf48 @21.5 psi with no room for more. they also cost 64,000$
I would argue the best STI was the Hatch 2011-14 models. I had a VA and all tho it felt special due to its transmission, diffs, and amazing steering rack. It just didn’t feel that consistent with the motor. You can tell the UEL headers hurt performance and the car struggled to rev with ease. My VB revs way better and it drives way better in terms of engine. Now all I need is the STI tranny, diffs, and brakes to have a complete package
I think that the hatch is the best looking STI? But as a package, with the drive train, brakes and all, the VA STI i think is better. I love the FA motors, and I love how the VB drives too. I do agree that an STI drive train with make the VB infinitely better 🤌
nope not last theres a 2025 sti coming with 400hp 325nm and the fa 2.4 is way stronger block in every aspect. and as for the cracked ringland with the ej25 its because the piston rings are set to high to the top of the pistons...another reason why the fa is better
Unfortunately you are in dream land Ben, wrx Fa24 and different club spec variants of it seems to be on the menu. This sti may truely be the last , ej257 proven and king 👑.

Some are some aren't, had a fair few subarus over 12 years. Had issues with 1 or 2 of them, surprising mostly in the 2.0L ej207 .. a gc8 ( swapped motor ) and a 04 sti blobeye! But ill always love them, just winging it with this current my18
Every other post I see on social media is of Sti’s blowing up. Too much sti this and sti that . I appreciate “sti” as a racing branch of Subaru but that’s about it. I’m not surprised that it has been discontinued and the normal wrx soldiers on !

lol sure . Look I’m an older Japanese guy and my family has had Subarus since the 80’s . My brother and I rallied and I co drove the first gen wrx bugeye that we got here in the states . I can tell you based from experience that the new fa/20dit/fa24 is way better in reliability than the old ej20 from years ago that we were always fixing one thing after another on . Ranging from cooling issues and gears ⚙️ breaking etc. now we aren’t competing anymore, but one of the teams im in contact with is doing extremely well in …. Guess what ? Yes ! A plain ole fa20 wrx that took 1st place in the ojbewe rally up north. They praise this motor with great fuel economy and good reliability. So yes I think I do know what I’m talking about .
@@MsAkmc The EJ25 is a 25 year old engine. It has withstood the test of time and should be respected for all its achieved. I would hope a less then 10 year old new platform be more reliable than an older one. Its supposed to be.
Good luck to him. Our STI engine gave up the ghost at 69,000 miles. 9,000 over warranty. It was not modified and driven by mature adults. Subaru did offer to put the same junk block back in for only $7000. We told them where to go and that we are going to join the lawsuits against them. It truly is the most unreliable vehicle I've ever owned in my 53 years. From the throwout bearing going bad at 3,000 miles, seat stitching separating, creaking dash and rear deck, steering rack leaking at 50k, and PVC system puking oil, to now a dead cylinder 2, I've had more than enough with this junk brand. Subaru is off our list forever. We thought about putting a built block in it, but we can't be seen as supporters of the brand. It's too bad, because my wife is a "gas and manual" driver for life. Her mom and sister all drive sticks too. We're looking at the Interga Type S and the Corolla GR now.

And pushed heavily over stock power and pistons in check thus far.. Having owned 6 different Subarus over 11 years I’m a brand loyalist . But absolutely there are shock cases where they weren’t good to people.
EJ25s are famous to give up even in their stock form. That is why I never look into them as much as I love the boxer sound. After seeing a sea a parking lot full of these cars in a local Subaru tuner shop, I said never will fall into this money trap.
Yep they do that. I barely drive mine its a sports car. They are unreliable toys thats about it. Getting a new engine at 90k miles. Never ever would I drive one as a daily. Love mine tons tho as a weekend car. Im sorry that happened to you early tho.

Love my STI with Recaro sr7 seats, ce28sl wheels, equal headers, all Cusco bracing, 20g turbo and aero. Solid car.
