  • a break down into the more advanced mechanics of mutation breeding and how it really works.
    it is no longer worth breeding passed 255 per stat as soon as an offspring is uploaded, cryoed, or server restart any stats over this will flip/reset
    the best dino now is 253-255 in every stat + xp levels wherever you like (xp levels no longer add or flip the number/stat)
    side note stats with 255 cannot be allocated xp levels it just disappears as an option so only in stats that you wouldnt level do you want 255 other wise 253 or 254 so you can level

    Out of all tutorials yours is the only one that makes sense and explains very well. Basically if you get male with -mutations on eachside and breed with 0 mut female then youve reset the mutations and can now have infinite mutations amazing thank you :) You should have alot more views and likes.

    I think I understand now. So when you do your mutations, do you ever get around to working on custom color mutations or are you all about stats? Can you chase color mutations after stat-boosts? Is there a priority that makes sense?
    I've watched so many videos on mutation and I think you managed to get it through my thick head. Thank you.

      I personally only do stats but you can do colors with the stats.
      Colors also roll independently it just lowers the odds of getting what you want since not only do you have to roll the the good stats you now have to roll the colors you want too.
      Easy way to think of it is there are 6 stats to roll and depending on the dino 4-6 colors
      Meaning when going for custom colors you need to flip a coin 12 times and always get heads (heads being the stat or color you want)
      Eventually you will slowly get stats and colors you want and replace the old dino you were breeding with to increase the odds but doing colors easily doubles if not tripples your breeding time to get stats and colors onto 1 dino vs just doing stats

    • @gamerbadazz
      @gamerbadazz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is your best male already mutated or are both parents 0/0
      If the male is mutated the baby will always get muts on the pat side
      Father(mat+pat)=baby(pat)
      Mother(mat+pat)=baby(mat)
      If both parents are 0/0 the baby will come out as 0/0 however if a mutation popped it can make it 1/0,0/1, or even 1/1.
      There is no way to control which side the mutation pops from 2 parents that can mutate

      You inbreed with other mutated dinos IF you're trying to flip the counter negative.
      If you're simply trying to get mutations breed with clean/ less then 20 total mut females. Male does not matter just the females ansestory line needs to add up to less then 20 mat+pat
      I'm in the process of doing a how I breed video step by step on how I infinite breed personally.
      This video is more of a breakdown on how the mutation mechanic works and how to flip the counter at will.

  • @Doodass

    when you get over the 20/20 cap of gigas and go get clean females, should we breed the good melee into them first, or just leave them how they are and start breeding

    • @gamerbadazz
      @gamerbadazz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are asking if you should breed it into the females I wouldnt bother. It would only help on the first gen if under 20 muts and wouldnt be possible after that unless you flipped the counters too. So it's simply easier and less of a headache to hatch twice the eggs then to re do females every generation trying to increase odds.
      I personally use 23 females and get a melee mutation every 1-500 eggs.
      If you want muts fast just use 50+ females.

    Never gotten this far in breeding. My server i play on has the mutator. i have used the same 15 0/0 females from day one and just replaced the male on all of my lines. now the mutations have slowed down from once per hatch to get a hp/melee mutation pending on the dino to now like every 4-5 hatches. so about 60 to 75 eggs i will get one mutation on the hp or melee. Does the mutator force the dino to mutate and increase a random stat regardless of the 20/20?

    • @gamerbadazz
      @gamerbadazz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If by the mutator you are talking about the mod yes that changes the mutation mechanic. I'm not sure if it's just an increase in odds or guarantees a mutation but it definitely changes the vanilla mechanics

    • @gamerbadazz
      @gamerbadazz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since gigas take so long to breed I would suggest taming fresh females. (Level does not matter) just take a male with all of your best stats and breed it with the clean females and check all of the offsprings stats. Doing this you should see a mutation that you can use about every 50-100eggs.
      Take new stats mate them into a new male breed that with the same females you tamed from earlier and rinse and repeat.
      Side note: you can clone the clean females to get some extra breeding females faster

    Hi you probably not going to respond but i would like to know if I can breed for stats could I then breed to get color as well?

    • @gamerbadazz
      @gamerbadazz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes though to keep all best stats and move 4 colors into the line can take a lot of breeding.
      Stats and colors roll independently of each other meaning when you have a perfect dino and want to move just 1 color region to it you have about a 5% chance (according to the wiki I'd personally say more like a 2-3% chance) of getting the 1 color and all stats you want.
      If you're trying to move say 4 colors your odds go down to like .3%.
      The best thing you can do is breed a dino with all the colors you want and whenever a baby pops out with those colors if it has more of your good stats than the colored parent swap it and start using the offspring to move the color.
      The reason for this is as you move stats over slowly your odds go up since each stat that does on that colored version will then be guaranteed since both parents will have the good stat

      Just make sure the Male you use shows negative on the baby (the babies should be negative paternal)
      The male can show positive just needs to give the baby a negative.
      If the baby is coming out possitive from the male then in breed the male another gen for a new male that should be flipped if your using high counters during breeding

  • @taraelizabeth3626
    @taraelizabeth3626 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    What happens when you have negative on both sides? Is it basically a Wild?

    • @gamerbadazz
      @gamerbadazz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes. However if it's too far negative and they add up to more than 255mil it will flip positive meaning no mutation possible.
      Example
      Mat:-200,000,000
      Pat:-100,000,000
      -200mil
      +
      -100mil
      =
      -300mil
      At 255 the neg/positive flips meaning it would actually be positive 45mil on the baby which would result in no mutation roll

    • @gamerbadazz
      @gamerbadazz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You were close everything is correct except it would have to mutate on the mom's side so the baby would come out 1/20mat 20/20pat.

    So if u have 0 muts on the moms side but have over 20 muts on the dad side can u still get muts on the dad side or no

    • @gamerbadazz
      @gamerbadazz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the baby pops out with 19 or less on the maternal (mom) side the babe had a chance to mutate from that side [meaning that parent rolls for a mutation on all of its children] if the pat (papa) side is 20 or higher it means that parent did not give a mutation roll and that parent cannot mutate for a baby
      Once that is understood remember each child has up to 2 rolls, 1 roll from each parent so as long as one parent is popping up on your babies under 20 you have a chance at getting a new mutation from those parents.
      Stats are rolled independently meaning you can get a mutation roll from the mom with the dads stats hence why it is best to have a male with all your stats and to breed with clean females over and over for new mutations

    • @gamerbadazz

      @@Michael_Dangelo generally you want to get about 25% of all wild points in each stat
      For example wild lvl 150 is 223 points if perfect tamed (lvl 224 -1)
      You would want to start with stats around 50-60 points each
      Keep in mind harder to tame or rare dinos it's better to look for 40-50 since breeding mutes will be faster than hunting for good rolls (regular wyverns would be a good example of this since high level is rare and it requires hatching the eggs to even see stats or sex)

      A good tip for guessing if a number is cutt off is this.
      If you can see 8 digits xx,xxx,xxx and the first number is 3 or higher you know it's an 8 digit number.
      If the first digit is a 2 but the 2nd digit is higher than 5 you also know it's a 8 digit number
      If however it is neither of the above it could be a 8 or 9 digit number

      @@gamerbadazz I thought that it was 2,147,483,647 (2 billion, 147 million, 483 thousand, 6 hundred and forty-seven) due to the place holder in the game code being a signed 32-bit integer. In 32 bits, there are a total of 2^32 (4,294,967,296) total combinations (including 0). Because it's a signed integer, 1 bit is used to represent if the number is positive or negative, leaving only 31 bits to express numerals. That leaves 2,147,483,648 (2^31) possibilities to express numerals, and since 0 is a possibility counted in there, the maximum or minimum value for the counter would be +/- 2^31 - 1, or, positive or negative 2,147,483,647. Incidentally, since the level counter placeholder is an unsigned 8-bit integer you have 256 (2^8) possibilities where you can have only 0 and positive values, again since 0 takes up one of those possibilities, you get 255 positive values before the bit counter flips back to 0.

      @@lupinelunatic3162 I dont know how its coded and it is possible I could be wrong and the number could be that but from experience I have never seen a 3xx,xxx,xxx or higher number granted most of the time anything past 8 digits usually is cutt off but occasionally you get enough 1's to see 9 digits but like I said I have yet to see a 9 digit that starts with a 3 or higher.
      Other things cap at 255 in ark like individual stat allocations and as I said above from personal breeding to the best of my knowledge its appears as if the mutation counter also has been flipping around that number for the first 3 digits too.

      Yes. However if you are using the incubator the mutation counter from that isnt exactly accurate. I havent paid much attention to it but I have noticed the numbers were incorrect from viewing the dino after hatch before

      Ana Marie ok mutations stack to 20 on each parent side, first things first focus on taming a good pair of each breed line (say a male rex with 11k hp after tame) and say a female with 405 melee damage. Once you find a decent pair that you’re happy with , you breed them and the first batch of babies, put aside the females and breed them with the father (if they have both of the good stats). Then once you get a mutation in the important stats you replace the male or female breeder respectively (determined by the babys sex). Once you get to mutation cap you breed that stud with 0/0 females (dinos with no mutations) once you get the stat on the baby you’ll notice how all of the mutations will be put on one side which means thereotically you can infinitely breed mutations until the level cap impacts the overall stat of the dino (ie you could have 60k hp on pop on a rex but in order to reach this you sacrifice the stamina, weight and food of the rex and if those stats are low enough the dino will be useless). Hope this helps
