  • The Ultimate ARK-Breeding Guide | Stat Mutations, Mutation Stacking, Crazy Colors
    You want to breed super Dinosaurs like a boss, get mutations, breed Bossrexe and maybe even get color mutations? This updated easy Breeding Guide is going to help you! I am going to explain to you how to choose the right breeding animals, how to get mutations, stack mutations, and choose the best animals to keep breeding with. My experience is over 6000h breeding on official and unofficial ARK.
    In this video I will explain to you what stat mutations are and how you get them, we also talk about the big term "Mutation Stacking" for stat mutations, what it means and how it works in order to breed high level dinosaurs. Are you more looking into crazy colors for color mutations? We talk about that as well!
    If you still have questions, ask them in the comments!

      Was pretty darn good but not exactly thorough, as she missed the part where max level is 450. Meaning if people aren't careful of which stats are getting bumped up, they will hit level cap super fast. For those that aren't aware if your tame hatches at 450+ it disappears and an empty egg hatches (or for mammals tame is birthed invisible and disappears/dies instantly).
      Manas and Velos are at the point right now where it's incredibly hard to find perfect stats because of messy lines. Meaning they have lots of levels or points/ mutations in oxygen/food causing them to start at level 400+. It also doesn't allow you to put any further levels into the tame at 450 so even if it's alive at 449 you don't get to add any levels to ur tame
      Obviously this just applies to official and some dedis (using official settings) but it's a crucial point not to miss as it affects breeding tremendously and is the reason we need to be careful which stats are getting muts and not just continuing the breeding process with stats we don't want

I appreciate that you also use platforms in your breeding. I have runways set up where either the base females sit at ground level with a male on an overhead walkway platform or the females sit on the overhead platform so one male can walk under them. Depending on if they lay eggs or not and how tall they are. It's nice to see someone else use platforms. I don't think I'm beyond 5 mutations in an Stat so far though but I'll get there. I always use like x50 multiplier for breeding on the Female Dinos for Rexes etc. so it doesn't take to much time. Am i really forced to boost these stats? Because on normal settings it would take weeks/months to get good Dinos. And from my experience on the Bosses like the Broodmother, you really need Dinos with mutations on meele/health. I mean it supposed to the same stats he have to have the same lvl, not a different one.
    Pls can you explain me why with the same stats (oxygen too) they are different lvl?
    Thx

    • @TiiaAurora
      @TiiaAurora  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shadowmanes have 2 hidden stats. Oxygen and Speed. You can not see them when you look into the animals inventory. Since the overall level of the animal are just all stats combined, there is a high chance you just bred in a higher hidden stat.

    I have a question, so when mutating let's say I have a 20/20 mutated dino on both sides, and it was like 345, but then I want to breed in the colors that the other dino has and it is a totally different level, would that by any chance mess the process up because this is my first time actually mutating (sorry if this makes no sense)

    • @TiiaAurora
      @TiiaAurora  ปีที่แล้ว

      See it as a big color + stat combination project. The same way you can combine the best stats on dinos, you can also combine colors and stats. I usually have an animal with the right colors already prepared and then breed them and keep the ones with the most stat + right colors and then combine further from that. It's a little chaotic but worth it. Btw you can have more than 20/20 on a dino.

    Hey Tiia. Is it possible to start with all level 1 dinos and breed for separate stat lines. Would this result in a much cleaner line?

    • @TiiaAurora

      You could start with Level 1 but the only thing you'd do it taking longer.

      Write down the stats of your breeders. Then compare these stats to the baby stats to check what mutated.
      If you wanna use already leveled or imprinted dinos
      Then breed them and look at the base stats of the baby before you imprint them, but make sure they dont have mutations.

    I am restarting my breeding lines after losing my single player on PS4 and this video is very helpful. I would appreciate a little clarification on the philosophy behind the 254/255 stats. Could it be said that most dinos will need 254 on melee, at the expense of all the other stats? I think this may be a min/max strategy and looking for some confirmation on this.
    Also, when I breed my Theris for the dragon boss on the Island, would it be more effective to go for 255 max on all stats, except melee (aim for 254)? Or would I be able to have 254 for health and melee, with remaining stats at 255? As I am at the start of the breeding again, I want to be more efficient from the start this time around.

    • @TiiaAurora

    Hi Tiia, Thank you for this video, you said some important things that I have not heard of on other videos. I'm just starting to play with this and have a question:
    I wanting to breed Therizino's and I'm starting with both male and female at 150. the stats are: 1st Male = Health =4524, Stam =720, Melee =371, The 1st Female = H=5046, S=990, M=315. I kept making babies until I got a mutation, it was twins which I didn't know happened. Mutation in the Health stat. 1st Twin Male = H=4872, S=720, M=371. The twin female was the same but I did not keep her. Later I got a 2nd set of twins (no mutation) but the female had all the good stats so I kept her, 2nd Twin Female = H=5046, S=990, M=371.
    I have been mating the 1st Male Twin with the 2nd Female twin, but I never see another male go past the 1st mutation. Is it good I mate them or should I keep using the original female 1st Female? Also I have been mating the original pair to see if I can get more females and another mutated Male. so far only 3 more females.
    Am I doing this correct?

    • @TiiaAurora
      @TiiaAurora  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jeff, do I understand it right that, The first twin had a mutation on the low health stat of the mother and the second twin has no mutation but all the good stats?
      What I would do now if I was you is mating the first unmutated make that has the 5046 health with the twin female that also has the 5046 health. They should be both unmutated. Then keep mutations out of that. Because there is no point in using a lower stat when you have a higher already available. you just clutter your mutation counter.
      I am working on an in depth video for the mutation stacking at the moment due high request. It will also explain these cases in detail.

    • @TiiaAurora
      @TiiaAurora  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Ceddy, no they don't because base levels and leveled levels are calculated differently. High-Level Rexes also get more % per leveled level than Low-Level Rexes. So let's say you have a Level 1 Rex. If you would give that Rex one Level-Up in Melee, the Melee would go up by 2%. If you have a Rex, that has 100 points in Melee and you give that one a Level up, it would gain 11.7% more. So either way, mutating will benefit you.

    I think I understand this correctly. Does the odd/even rule mean that you have to start with wild males that tamed out with an even number of points in your specific stat? And how long does it take to actually get a mutated male with the mutated stat you want to replace your current breeding males? How many females do you have? On average they say it's every 40th baby that gets a mutation (not the right mutation but a mutation at all). But I think those numbers are a little low. Even without mutator I often get 2-3 mutated babies in 20-30 babies being born. I would either higher the number you have or if you can use the hatchery, leave them on mating over night and mass hatch them afterwards.

    thanks for the video. Do those levels matter? Sorry if you already explained in video

    • @TiiaAurora
      @TiiaAurora  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      if you have a male with 30 points in health and 25 in stamina and a female with 25 points in health and 30 points in stamina, both would have the same total levels. but the babies could get 30 points in both OR 25 points in both, which makes 60 for the first and 50 for the second. So depending on how RNG rolls together your stats, they are either higher, the same or lower. that's also how you can get unmutated base animals with level 300 on a max tamed 224 server, because you just combine all the highest stats.

    Is there a reason to breed for mutations on a single stat and combine the maxed stats later? Wouldn't it make more sense to breed up one lineage so you can accept any mutation on any stat?
    edit: I think I've answered this question for myself already. So, when breeding there's a 50% chance for any stat to be inherited. If you're breeding to max out 6 stats then the chance of transferring all 6 mutated stats onto the baby is like flipping a coin 6 times and having it land on heads every single time. 50% is 1/2, and to get that 6 times in a row would be (1/2)^6 which is 1/64. To put this into a percentage it would be 1/64*100 = 1.56%.
    Getting one dino with all stats from the male would on average happen once every 64 eggs. Getting a mutation on any egg is also pretty small, so getting all stats from the father AND a mutation is tiny.
    And if you get it then it's probably on a female xD

    • @TiiaAurora

      it doesn't matter where you get the mutation, no. Only the mutations go up in 2 level steps. The levels animals get into the different stats are completely random. Let's say you have 31 points in health. It's an odd number. A mutation will turn it into 33, which is still an odd number. Nothing at this point can change it into an even number. Hi Tiia. Got a Question for you. I finished my Thylacoleos. They have all Stats the closest i could get to 254. (Yes, i did not do the thing with even and odd numbers :( ) So Male and Female are now Level 1776 with same 250+ Stats. The thing is, at the Mutationcount both sides are over 20. By far. So is there even a Chance that i get different colors out of them, or do i have to use a Female from before mutating. With Stats around 50 to 60. And wouldn´t that be pure luck to get out one with all the male stats and a diffrend color? Thinking of it, wouldn´t it be better to get out the Male from before mutating and breed him with the Level 1776 females?
    And as i was writing this question another one came up. Until now, before mutating, i always searched for max Level dinos with a stat of 60+ in every of the 7 diffrent stats. Then breedet them together until i had 1 Male and for example 8 Female with the same 60+ Stats on it and without an nutural mutation. A perfect pair in Stats and Level without any mutations. Is that even needed? Or do i just need a max level male and females (females with different stats does not matter), and mutate them with a male with even stats for important stats and for unimportant ones i just mutate him to 255 or more? I use 10 Mutators so with every step the stat gets 20 stronger.

    • @TiiaAurora
      @TiiaAurora  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, for your first questions. Color mutations always come with stat mutations, so in order to get new colors, one of the parents has to be below 20 mutations to be able to trigger them.
      For the second question - if you can use that many mutators, I wouldn't bother looking for high stats. Mutating them is probably way faster than searching for a high stat.

      @@TiiaAurora So even if i got 1 maxed out Male and 1 maxed out female with just 11/20 on fatherline, i would not get new colors with them cause i do not mutate them anymore, and with a natural mutation of them they would get over 254?
      And my second question. You did not awnser all of it. can you please help me there too :)

      @@Jehuty1982 You will always get a stat mutation with your color mutation. So if your dinos are capped already, their stats will reroll with the next server restart. if you want colors, you should use dinos where it doesn't matter if they get stat changes on top, or just use less mutators.
      When it comes to how to start. You neither need a combined dino, nor do they need all the same stats, nor do the stats of the female matter. all you need is one male that has the starter stat. if you want to mutate melee for example its totally fine if the rex only has the good melee stat and the rest is garbage. i mutate myself like that. so i don't lose time on combining etc.

    So if i tame two lvl 150 dinos. Do i start directly with mutations? Or do i breed them first to get their levels higher? If to the what level?

    • @TiiaAurora
      @TiiaAurora  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats really up to you. I know many people love to collect high stats and then breed them together before mutating. I usually start mutating right away.

      You can keep the girls because, their stats dont matter since you mutate the dads stats and not the mothers stats.

    Appreciate the video. I messed up my first boss rex line by mixing in the mutated females and got stuck with all the ghost mutations..
    Now have started an even better tek rex line, have set up my perfect pair and got 2 clean melee mutations on my male..
    Now i understand how to properly stack them these robo rexs are going to be amazing at the end 😁

    Good video. You explained it slowly and very well and I like your setup. I imagine everyone uses a setup like it because it's clearly most likely the only way to get them close enough to as many females as possible. I watched another video where someone explained it on paper 😂 which led to so many questions. But this helped a lot with no questions. Thank you!

    I am new to breeding and have no idea if you will answer, but when you talked about unmutated females can they still be the offspring or do they need to be caught originally and not bread into existence?
    Also do mutations on stats - like one is the highest but the counter doesn’t show matter?

    • @TiiaAurora
      @TiiaAurora  ปีที่แล้ว

      Where you get them from doesn't matter as long as they have 0 mutations.

      @@TiiaAurora do you mean 0 on the counter? As I believe I have a stat mutation, but it hasn’t shown on the counter that’s why I am confused.
