Toy Biz was making great Action figures at a time when all kids wanted to do was play PlayStation or a Nintendo. If Toy Biz was still around today I think Toy Biz would be top of the Action Figure game with the popularity of Marvel movies and with the number of collectors

You forgot to mention the Lord of the Rings toys that ToyBiz made. That was a short run, but they were amazing figures based off the Peter Jackson trilogy.

@@brucew7339 that problem only applied to horse and rider figures and the first two merry and pippin. Unless you had motor skill problems as a kid.

Yep, that's where my Super Hero toys came from...💯✔ But besides that I never really remember getting anything else from there...🤔...Well, now that I'm thinking about it, I do now remember getting a few Robocop toys from there as well...👌🏼

Nicely done, Junkman! I knew ToyBiz made all those classic Marvel figures of the 90's, but I didn't realize their history was so intertwined with the Marvel Comics company. That's pretty interesting!

Toy biz produced the best and most comic book accurate marvel legends figures ever. The legendary comic book line is awesome and stood the test of time, Pitt and Monkey Man are amazing. The unique body molds they used, the amount of paint and wash applied on each figure to make them look straight out the comic books. The finger and hand articulation on every figure. They will always remain the best, if they were still around they would be the only action figure line that would be worth paying $40 or $60 for. I bet everyone would be happy with a modern day toy biz figure with all the detail you could ever want for $25 or $30 versus a trash, not painted, ugly Hasbro marvel legends they release these days. Toy biz was perfect. I’m glad I’m now an adult that can buy all those awesome figures that I was too young to get as a kid.

Hasbro has been trying to cash in on nostalgia for Toy Biz figures. I ended up with a shitty Wolverine figure because one of the Walgreens exclusives ones broke & I sent them an angry email. You always get the peg warmers when they send you a consolation figure. At least it wasn’t captain Marvel I guess...

My 90s style wolverine aside from having claws that feel fragile was ok, but the silver samurai arm kept popping off I simply crazy glued it on and use it for display only

I started collecting action figures again because of Toy Biz. My first one was Hawkeye from the Ironman cartoon. It was the firstever Hawkeye action figure! Loved all the commercial clips you added! Another fine installment thanks Junkman!

Worth noting that they only went after the Marvel licence because they lost the DC one on account of their DC figures being largely trash knock-offs of Super Powers figures made of lower grade plastic with really bad gimmicks. The DC licence went back to Kenner and Toy Biz picked up the Marvel licence to replace it.
If that hadn't happened the action figure landscape might be totally different. Maybe DC Legends would have become a thing?

I like the X-Men Danger Room advert at the start, in fact I would like to track one down for myself to use with my Marvel Legends figures..
I don't have any X-Men figures, but it would look nice with my Avengers figures, what's more I am mostly only into old school Marvel thus the retro design would go nicely with the ones I've got and hey I may even get myself a few Mutants as my Namor is getting a bit lonely because Sue keeps hanging out with Luke in his Black Series Landspeeder...

    OMG! Lol
I was literally just going through a giant air conditioning box full of these, having to open all of them out of the pristine boxes and packages because of all the dampness in the garage and leak in the ceiling.
Huge pain in the ass trying to figure out which weapons go where some of the ones that were ready opened or I forgot or lost place

Bonus fact: in 1997 they made a few rc toys for the lost world Jurassic Park. An rc T-Rex (the best one and my favorite) a triceratops and pachecasaplhilsaurs. As well as an rc Mercedes which despite being an rc car was still tethered to the remote by a cord XD.
