Be a fucking treat! If there was a few unreleased studio songs in a lock box still to come. Im new to this youtube shit so anyway im posting up my shitty little cover songs twanga wanka lang and im listening back to them and im like where have i heard that tone of voice before im thinking on it... it hits i sound a bit like fucken Kenny from type o negitive. I had a crack at black no 1 screwed petes parts as to be expected but yeah im definitely hereing a shitty version of your voice in mine in certain songs.
Wow, I did not know that! The internet is amazing! I also heard of a website where you can watch videos that other people post and sometimes you can write inane comments below the videos. Have you heard of this website?
Rest in peace Peter. We only wish we could have had a few more years of the drab four. Also, their thick Brooklyn accents somehow always seem to make everything funnier.
I remember discovering Type O 8 years ago and thought about how much of a disservice I did to myself for not having listened to them earlier or sooner. Amazing band, everyone must listen to their music. Listen to "Red Water" on a very dark and dreary fall day and you will know, you will know exactly what the vibe was that Pete was giving out to the world. Hope Pete is happy wherever he may be...what a loss...
I've been listening to them since about 2000, but same thing with me. I didn't listen to them for the longest time, and I couldn't tell you why! Im mad that I didnt give them a chance sooner.
Don't beat yourself up over it. I got into TON 20 years ago. But a lot of bands I was never old enough to get access to or watch live. What's great about a band like TON is their fans are fans for life. This is what makes bands GREAT.
While it sucks feeling like u discovered a band "too late", what's important is that if a band's music is truely timeless, it will have lost none of it's potency so it still resonates as if it's new music. Long Live TON \m/
They were awesome live. Seen them three times in - 95, - 96 and -01. First time I had never even heard of them. Was dragged there by a girl at a festival. Totally blew my mind.
I saw them several times in the ‘90’s. They used to have a Halloween show in Philadelphia every year at the Trocodaro. It was amazing. Everyone dressed up in costumes. They would toilet paper the entire theater. One year they bought 100 egg rolls from the Chinese restaurant next to the Troc and threw them out into the audience. Amazing shows.
If I could only listen to 1 band for the rest of my life its Type O Negative... Their entire catalog is amazing I couldnt imagine my life without their music in iy
This is so amazing. I just wish there were more interviews with Josh, but this is absolutely amazing. I'm now 34, and saw them play at blue cats in Knoxville, Tennessee October of 2008, when I was 22. I will never forget walking up, and seeing johnny sitting in the doorway, smoking a cigarette, and not wanting to be a bother, just watched him for a moment, and snapped a quick pic. I was even invited to come backstage, after the show ended, but ended up not going back, because my boyfriend at the time. I wish to god I had, but I was so nervous and shy. They'll always be in my top 5 favorite bands. I have so many pictures from that night, and will never forget it. Peter was brilliant, hilarious, and kind. Just wish I could have met him and spoke with him face to face before he passed. So again, thank you for this interview! It's amazing to hear them talk about their past records.
When asked what comes after the success of 'Bloody Kisses' Peter Steele told Metal Hammer magazine: "I intend on selling out. Financial success is the most important thing to me." Out of that came 'October Rust', their best album.
that's his sarcasm, he NEVER was like 'that', he wanted 'their fans' to be happy & give it his all. a few times he forced himself bc of their producer, and it was upsetting to him, realise what u write
Black Sabbath wrote in the studio too. It's great that they gave us this look into how they made this album and the demands that the label had on them at the time. Thank you for this
I was in 11th grade when October Rust hit the store shelves, still have the CD in my collection despite being able to access it any time I want on Spotify. A lot of good memories attached to that album, and hearing these funny stories about the songwriting process makes me feel better about my high school cover band struggling to get a good rendition of Black No. 1 and My Girlfriend's Girlfriend.
these days there seems to be a full documentary about most bands, but type o would be a fantastic documentary. there is a solid fan base, and there was a lot of unknown about peter, and the dynamic of the way the band created music.
The Beatles medley is my fave cover as well. I had never heard the original songs before and I fell in love with the covers. It gave me something in common with a friend of mine who was a big fan of the Beatles.
ABSOLUTE LEGENDS Fell over this Vid by accident sometimes the internet delivers - GOLD THANK YOU SO MUCH SERIOUSLY MADE MY DAY I discovered Type O not too long ago and was shattered to learn Peter (Lord Petrus Steele) had passed, talk about a conflict of emotions glad I found their music devastated at a young artist leaving too soon. (And that’s why we love him) But Peter these lyrics are retarded…. (And that’s why we love him) R.I.P Love to Kenny, Johnny & Josh 🖤❤💜
These guys were amazing.I thought that they were kind of pretentious, but when you get more close to their music you could actually appreciate how talented they really were as a band. They were fun to watch in live performances too.
Guys this is great, thanks so much for sharing, but can you please bring the music level down? It's really hard to hear everything being said in the interview with the music as loud as it is.
just came across this, and had a good laugh on the lyrics discussion, etc. What a great band and their working together was , I hate to say "teamwork" (bland) but it was truly a group effort. Wolf Moon is a single to me. Folks just sing words without knowing meanings lol! Some friends and I are doing some music and this is the cover I want to do. Not changing lyrics. Because that is not the idea on doing covers. As well a lot of the long songs had singles within them if they needed to promote something; different movements within the songs. Miss these guys
Anyone know the symbology of the hammer gear on Origin of the Feces and flag in this video? Here I am 40 years old with it tattooed on my leg from when I turned 18.
I died when Kenny did his Peter impersonation when talking about Wolf Moon. Just pure gold.
:))))
Hilarious! That's how it should be when you look back on lost friends and family. Always try and keep the laughs coming.

Your comment is a when/when for all of us.
I'll listen to Kenny and co tell stories all god damn day long.
Me too.

theres a video on Loudwire of him playing and explaining his favorite riffs. go check it out
aww man kenny's laugh sounds exactly like the october rust intro
Haha I noticed that too.
"It's about a man who turns into a werewolf while performing cunnilingus on a woman who's menstruating" 😂😂😂😂😂
Priceless.
i can listen to them tell stories literally all day
I want a shirt that says “But Peter, these lyrics are retahded.”
It can have him storming angrily out of a house on the back.
There are websites that make custom shirts.

Peter Steele is the author of some of the most romantic and sensual lyrics in rock history.
Kenny's French accent was pure gold 😂😂😂
I mean.. "Be My Druidess" is a phenomenal song.
The distortion on “hey Pete” is so wicked ⚰️
I know Pete is the obsession (totally agree) but I love all the guys in the band. Theyre amazing.

A song i wished they covered is Love will tear us apart by Joy division. Imagine Peter singing that!
@a n t i m a t e r i a I don't think Type O were that juvenile
@@Fireglo they literally called an album "the origin of the feces" and made the cover a close up of Peter's butthole
would have been fucking epic!!🖤
No
sitvisjes I always pictured them covering Head over Heels by tears for fears... I can picture it so clearly
Type O was soooooo underrated. Their music has so many layers to it and there are parts in almost every song that ‘surprise’ you. Sooooo underrated!
Definitely far from underrated
They were a meme band who were only famous because of Peter's good looks!
@@Bawitdabadabangdadang

I'm so happy to hear from Kenny and Johnny, I've been such a huge fan of Type O for 10+ years. Sadly I never got to see them perform live. :/

NO OTHER possibility-yup.
I love Kenny's impersonation of Peter's voice :-)
R.I.P. St. Petrus. The world lost a bit of green when Pete died.
So funny. I love this band. I miss them so much.
I think I just peed myself a little laughing at Pete's description of Wolf Moon. 10/10 would do again.

This interview had me smiling. Love Type o and hearing them talk about Pete and the band. Love their humour.
I remember going to signing and josh looked up at my frend, pointed at him and said "HAH! MILLY VANILLY!!"
Best band ever, I really miss Peter and Type O Negative
These are great, I can never get enough of these guys.
The part about Wolf Moon...hahahahahaha
I love these inside peaks
When asked what comes after the success of 'Bloody Kisses' Peter Steele told Metal Hammer magazine: "I intend on selling out. Financial success is the most important thing to me."
Out of that came 'October Rust', their best album.
TON couldn't sell out if they tried.

So comforting seeing these again. Just in time for another winter! Love TON
They played 'light my fire' in London in 1995, was cool
That was my question they answered about the song writing process!
Good question
Great question 🤘🏼
Gahhbage question!
Is it just me that notices Johnny Kelly doing his drum parts with his fingers in the beginning of the interview?!
6:27 I got to hear them play "Come on baby light my fire" in 1997, I thought it was great.

The Trocadero in Philly was always our favorite place to see you TON!💚💚💚

I love it when they do Peter's voice. HAHAHAHA

I will go to an acoustic concert with the remaining members of TON, anytime.

I'm glad they are talking about him and type o. Seemed to me like when he died they walked away and didn't want to be associated with it anymore.
Nah, it just died with Mr. Steele. It would have been disrespectful to try and replace the soul of the band. They had to grieve and move on.
They're still as funny as ever
