This was a great review. You should do more of these when there’s model changes or should I say changes in a model. I often can’t tell the difference if the seller doesn’t explain things well. Thanks.
I prefer the dimensions of the 2023. That balance is what sold it to me at the time. The larger indices, the shallower crown, the larger bezel. It performs well too; mine runs roughly 1/2+ seconds per day, backside down without a winder at night.
My only critique here - and it's minor - is that I wouldn't call the t-fit a "diver's extension." It's simply a micro adjust that can be used without a tool, a much needed and welcomed feature. Tudor's Pelagos 42 and 39s, on the other hand, are equipped with diver's extensions, because unlike the Black Bay line, the Pelagos line is Tudor's true professional modern divers. Tudor did a great job in refining the original Black Bay, a now legendary model the minds of many.
I own a Breitling GMT Chrono 40 platinum and this BB41 blows it out of the water at 1/2 the price. The edges and lines are more attractive and it looks more luxurious. It wears a little larger because of the crown size. But the black face and gold accents on the face marry perfect with the 'burgandy' dial. I catch myself admiring this watch on my wrist far more than I do the Platinum Breitling.
Love the improvements on the new one. Nit picking here, but it could be a little more slim, even though they smartly slimmed it down by cutting the mid part of the case. And also 3 lines at 6 o’clock! I love when I see 3 lines on the bottom part and plus it would have better symmetry with top 3 lines..why just not add ‘BLACK BAY’ text on top of the water resistance?
The older one is more historically significant imho. It will be the first one with the in house movement, 3 line straight text will become a rarity, only one that will have been C.O.S.C. on dial, still had the snow flake second hand, unique crown(similar to the “big crown” models allure) and overall combo of rare features in 1 watch. Just because the new one is better all around proportionally, clasp wise and small improvements overall does not make it more significant to the brand in time. I think the 79230 has more charm, and the 79220 even more so…….Also this all could just be me trying to talk myself out of buying the new one and I’m sorry you had to read this😅😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Fortunatly, I have the "old" one. I dont't like the new T-clasp, the small shield shape something was not a good idea from Tudor, many people complain that it get caught in the clothes.
Metas is truly incredible at taking time only watches and making them obnoxiously thick. They are the equivalent to making a 900hp N/A high reving V12 and throwing into a brinks truck.
The only thing that was just terrible in previous versions was sticking out of the case crown. Till today I can’t understand how anyone agreed to sell a luxury watch looking like this.
@@KeepingWatchUKI have both and I can confirm that’s Not true. The BB58 wears definitely smaller. The new Burgundy BB wears like a true 41mm and it’s comfortable enough on smaller wrists. I had a BB GMT and it wore like a 42mm and I felt it on my wrist the whole time.
I also have both. My point is that if you line up the BB58, the new burgundy & the GMT together, the burgundy wears closer to the 58 than it does the GMT 41. So if the OP fears the 41 sizing will be too big, but is happy with the BB58, I think the new burgundy ‘41’ will fit just fine.
@@omarion07 No. The new one wears like a 40 (in fact, it's a 40,5mm watch). The old one wears like a true 41 and feels chunky. The new one is way more comfy on the wrist. Home run for Tudor.
The differences are subtle but for me big enough to justify owning both, as I do. Obviously for people with less money (who are poorer) that might not be the case. But since money doesn't really matter to me (I have a lot), I'm happy 😊.
Tudor 41mm Burgundy 2023
The most beautiful watch that money can buy
Absolutely Brilliant
Cheers
I believe that the black bay line is one of the best watches at its price point. The new version packs a lot of punch.
2023 version is an outright better watch
In person, the dial, bracelet and knurling are huge improvements. It’s a different watch imho
Looking forward to them applying these new changes across the line, particularly the T-fit clasp.
Love this content Tim. Keep up the great work. Cheers!
Great comparison video! The ends of the minute hands of both watches are also shaped slightly different.
There is no denying the quality and appeal of the Black Bay and the 2023 is hard to fault.
Now that, is how you do a comparison. Well done! They're both gorgeous 👍
Been waiting for this

Yes. I love the comparison vids

Best comparison to date.

I’d pick up an old one atva nice discount
Would be nice to see the 2023 compared to the 2012 Smiley (which I sold two years ago :()!

When is the black bay 54 review Tim? We’ve been waiting for this patiently 😫
When I get one!
Best,
Tim
I notice now that the round lumeplots also appear to be bigger on the new version. More like submariner.
I like the newer one. I wonder if they'll refine their GMT. The thickness of it put me off buying one.
What a gorgeous watch
Good reveiw👍🏼
New one is much better. BB41 2024 black on jubilee is on top of my wish list

The watch is under 12mm thick without the domed crystal. 2 lines text at 6 is so clean !
Great comprehensive review. But you didn’t mention the difference in the second hand. Snowflake on the first version and circle on the 2023 version.
Finally something for the common man. Feels like it’s been a while

King of 4k
I like the new one
Earthquake during the video?
21 mm bracelet? WTF? Why?
I wish they'd make a 43 or 44mm like a Sea-Dweller
Prefer the second hand on the older model, otherwise the current version is superior.
Imao 79220r all the way

Seriously ??? T-fit is fantastic and no problem with my clothes 😅
@@maitrehg I have two Tudor's with t-fit. They never snagged on my clothes.
I don't even recognize the new one. Too many changes.

when When WHEN are Tudor going to make this in a BB58 size?!?! I’ve been waiting and waiting 😢
The new one is pretty much BB58 size! Try it. Wears much closer to the 39mm BB58 than it does the old 41/GMT 41 etc

롤렉스에 더 가까워졌다
Still too thick :(
Pedantic....

Buy one, get one free.
Cool dude 🙅🏻♂️
I think your justifying buying the old one a mere months before the new one was released
Stretchy strechy your in-between legy.
Youre just compensating 🤣
