    Another helpful video, thanks again. My Gen 1 at 72k miles, but really like look of Mid-Perch adjustment. Just got to find good mechanic to do the suspension upgrade. Really cool you have performance cars and truck👍...

    When I bought new struts a few years ago I stuck with the stock perch. Being new, I knew it would be stiffer than one that’s worn out. But if I bought rebuilt ones, I would have done mid perch as well.
    Swapping the fronts are easy but the rear shocks was a pain.

    Huge improvement, agree these should have come from the factory this way.

    Too comment on fox not setting the raptor on mid perch, it was actually ford who set it to the bottom perch. Why? Few theories roaming around, one being bumper height, other being it's a truck, so it'll level out when you put stuff in the bed, a theory I thought of is because it rides so plush that way when people were expecting a stiff ride and they take it for a test drive, it rides like a pillow which would make them want it more, they wanted it to be as soft as they could get it. Fox did design the shocks to be at mid perch, you see it being said in a few places on the forums.

    I’m looking to upgrade my daily to one of these first gen raptors and man your videos have been awesome. Thank you for all the knowledge.
    I have to ask - do you ever wish you went super cab vs super crew?? I’m heavily leaning toward to super cab (no kids just girl and dog) because I think it’ll fit better for me

      I never wish I went with the supercab. For me, the truck has more utility with passengers and cargo with the full size rear doors. My truck is the big vehicle that does it all and I take it on long road trips so I really wanted to bigger option. Not everyone has the same goal, but that's why it worked for me.

    Why don't you ever say how much the TSW rebuild cost? Ford used low perch from factory bc there are the other perch changed the angle that the headlights shines down the road which causes them to project light farther than like IHSAA or the like allowed for ..at least that is what i heard anyway

    Considering this on my 2014. Does mid perch require the spindle or angle of the tire to be re aligned? Looks like the bottom of the tire tows inward , possibly over time wear the outside of the tire?

    • @bryblanch
      @bryblanch ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, after setting the shock to mid perch you will then need an alignment.

      @@cdf8821 “The drivetrain has been tested to extremes for the current ride height. If you go changing that you may run into driveline angle issues at max rebound travel. You may not. We don't test for all the things the aftermarket comes up with. Just keep in mind if you go to a different detent setting, you are changing the ride height zone on the internal bypass shocks and you will go into stiffer zones differently than you did before. Ride and handling will be affected.”

      It's a great summary of the perch mod topic with pros and cons mentioned. I bought a used Raptor with mid perch setting in the front and ended up modifying it back to original. I dig the "raptor stance", leaning forward. Very unique and appealing to me, suggesting it's ready for some nasty stuff 😁 Indeed, a bit unusual, but I didn't want my truck to look more like the usual ones. So main reason I went back to low perch is aesthetics. Other consideration I'm curious about is the headlight issue. When on mid perch, my experience was that oncoming traffic was very annoyed by my low beams being too high. When using in the night, the high beams left the first 10 meters of the road absolutely dark in front of me.
